We we were in town for the Red Sox series and had a great stay at Mikeâs place. We highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Boston/ Cambridge.
We enjoyed our stay here. It is an older building but it was clean and comfy. It was close to Harvard, across the from the Charles River. The stairs were a bit narrow to get to it in the 2nd floor. Mike was very responsive when we asked for extra towels. We would stay here again.
Overall it is what it is. Reasonable 2 br apartment in Cambridge convenient to transportation. If you are coming to the area to experience the town it is a safe and quiet place to stay. The place itself was clean but its an older home that could use some work. We slept comfortably, made food and were able to relax when not sightseeing. Would use again if in the area.
Apartment was exactly as described. It was clean and cozy. A bit outdated but only stayed 1 night so it was fine. Owner was so extremely helpful in our travels! The road right at the house had been shut down the day of our arrival which made it a little difficult to navigate to but he stayed on the phone with us and talked us through our route! Would definitely stay again!
The host did not give us the key or passcode. We didnât get an email with instructions by the time we landed in Boston. I started texting from the Uber and tried calling when we got to the house. It was too cold to wait for too long. We had to book and stay in a hotel instead. Very disappointing. Corporate VRBO gave me our money back but nothing additional for the uber or the inconvenience of trying to sort out the mess. I was on the phone with them for 30 minutes while they were trying to locate the host and help me with the situation, which I would have preferred to spend at the event with my daughter that I came to Boston for.
This was the perfect place to stay for a night. Itâs a great place to walk around. We wished we stayed another night. Inside the place is a little dated but we loved itâs charm and character.
Older property. Has CD seen some miles, but very clean! Was exactly what we were looking for. Host was very responsive to questions, and looking forward to booking it next year!
The property is older bit had a nice feel.It was clean and comfortable. Had a few kitchen appliances available couple different coffe pots, nice stove, a few pots and frying pan to use silverware etc.
We enjoyed our stay. 10 min walk from Harvard Square and train. Bus stop close by. Would stay here again.
The apartment was very clean and well-equipped. I had a little trouble getting in at first, and the proprietor gave me quick, clear instructions over the phone.
The apartment is a little shabby -- torn carpet, missing showerhead, things like that. But it was very clean and comfortable.
They left bottles of water and snacks which was nice. The apartment and house is in need of repairs. But it had all the all gadgets to use. Cupboards old, floors old.stairs old, property needs to be maintained. It was a nice quiet area and walking distance to stores.
Other reviews on this location were spot on. It's an old building and there is definitely some upkeep needed. The kitchen is missing quite a few things. For instance, there was one bowl. We made it work, but there should be more going on in a VRBO kitchen. The location is FANTASTIC! This was our first visit to Boston and felt like we were able to get anywhere we wanted in a short amount of time. I had heard about traffic nightmares in Boston, but that just wasn't the case while we were there. We were pleasantly surprised to see that they close down Memorial Drive on Sundays (in the summer) to traffic allowing people to run, walk, ride bikes, rollerblade, etc on this four lane road for a little over a mile. I had my bike with me and took advantage of this. On one occasion, we needed to reach out to Mike. Upon check in, we noticed that towels were provided, but no washcloths. By that evening, we had a bunch of BRAND NEW washcloths and hand towels. That was an impressive response!
The potential is amazing - i would invest in an interior designer support - the furniture was tragic - falling apart - the bed broke and was replaced - the kitchen is not leveled - so floor is totally slanted - bit its an authentic victorian home so - its cool... the lights to the bathroom are outside the bathroom and the kitchen lights are also not in the kitchen. the tv didnt work - or maybe i couldnt figure it out....it was very quiet and very close to the river and during The Head of the Charles - would i come back - YES. amazing location - but i would invest in a paint job. better furniture -....paint the hallway - kinda trashy - if you are young and dont Give AF its perfect - if you are expecting to be wowed in comfort - take a sleeping pill - its fine..i wish i could buy this building and elevate its potential.
So NOT stay here! The place is disgusting. The floors are uneven, peeling paint, broken furniture, etc. Had a tile in the ceiling of the bathroom fall and hit me on the head. Renters response was âThanks, Iâll let the cleaner know! Didnât stay, rented a hotel roomâŠ
Exactly as expected. Mike was easy to communicate with. Location is just a few blocks from the T so easy to get anywhere from here. Would definitely stay again.
The place is âold Cambridgeâ all the way. Itâs tired and old (reminded me of 50-60 year old renovations I did in area 25 years ago!)Anyway it was clean and the kids were happy the WiFi worked.Need a coat of paint
