Charming 2-bedroom house just 12 miles from airport with spectacular auroras.
Your Fairbanks adventure begins here! The property boasts a tranquil atmosphere, ideal for unwinding after a day of exploring. View the Aurora! Fall in love with Fairbanks and enjoy the magic it has to offer.
Great stay outside of Fairbanks. Overall was really nice, spacious area, and well outside of town. There was a minor issue with the water pump which the host resolved really quickly, and the only other thing to note is be mindful of mosquitoes and there's a rooster next door which when daylight lasts for 22 hours meant the rooster was awake for most of that.
Nice place happy with everything except the fridge wasn't working till we worked with the controls. Then the ice maker leaked water. Otherwise had everything we needed.
This property was far enough to feel very private and close enough that we could still enjoy "civilization." We totally loved the liston and experience. The property had everything for you to feel like you never left home! Definitely returning when we can!
After staying in hotels and resorts for the past week, staying in a house in the woods was absolutely perfect. The operative word here is âin the woods â which means being cognizant of water usage, etc., and respecting the septic system rules. We felt far away from everything yet were just 15 minutes away from all we wanted to do in and around Fairbanks. The only thing that eluded us were the Northern Lights, which, if it werenât cloudy, would have been a perfect place to watch right from the bedroom window! We loved the place. Thank you for your hospitality Jeffrey
Not Suitable for Winter Stay: Issues Need To Be Addressed
Property not ready for rental1. Temperature was -15 approx. We understand it gets cold there - however - we're from Minnesota and it gets just as cold without these issues. Tub drain kept freezing. Turned on heat pumps - Took approx 2 hours to thaw out pipes. VERY LIMIT USE OF SHOWER unfortunately.2. 2 days in a row we had no running water in the kitchen. We did our best to keep clean but on final day we could not do the dishes due to this issue. Again, it took 2 hours to thaw out. 3. Last 2 days we had zero COLD water once we got the pipes thawed out. (Kitchen and tub/shower) - We had cold everywhere except where it was needed. Great hot water but it would scald you so you could not wash dishes or shower because of it.4.Upper right bedroom: Mattress needs replacing. There was a bulge in the middle so when you would lay down your butt would be higher than your back and it made it very uncomfortable. - Bathroom had no switch plate cover over the light switch. Bare wiring was exposed allowing a risk of shocking yourself if not careful. (Especially at night when dark - which is 18 hours a day in the winter)4. Only heat in house was on lower floor. Upstairs and main floor bath had no heat registers. Relied on fans to spread heat around which made the house cold for the family. Unfortunately the -15 degree temp didn't help. However, we shouldn't have to deal with no water/shower ablility while on a vacation. 5. Fix Dead Bolt Lock
Great property, fast enough away from the city that you aren't on top of your neighbor but close enough to go get what you need or want. House was very clean and great layout. Contact with property owner was great and quick. Had a small issue, but contacted owner and he was on it right away and quickly took care of it. Definitely would recommend this as a place to stay and we will definitely return. The location is far away from everything that it don't great the road noise and it is dark with no light pollution so the northern lights would be amazing here.
