The farmhouse was exactly as advertised and pictured -- quaint, comfortable, beautiful! The land has goats, cows and chickens near the farmhouse. You can also see some deer while driving in our out possibly. Super convenient to town but far enough that you feel the peace and solitude of the country. The host and hostess are incredibly helpful and kind people.
We loved this quaint and lovingly tended-to guest house outside of Fredericksburg on a working ranch. The house is an homage to the family's ancestors who came from Germany to settle in Texas. Everything was cozy and comfortable and we enjoyed fresh eggs and homemade buttermilk syrup for our breakfast. The sunsets were stunning. We especially enjoyed the screened in back porch, and the location near downtown Fredericksburg was convenient. We would stay there again!
Enjoyed our stay. Loved the screened in porch.House was beautiful in its old antique charming way.Enjoyed our walks to the river and all the farm animals.Owner was responsive to our questions and quickly fixed any issues that came up.
My family loved this quaint farmhouse full of charm and history! The owners are great and answered our questions quickly and are very kind. My son loved fishing in the river and my daughter enjoyed feeding the goats. We are staying again next year!!! The hot tub was so nice, its just beautiful there...
House is exactly as listed. Good quality linens/ comfortable beds. Fully stocked kitchen. Outside sitting area with fire pit & hot tub is great. House is a good 1/2 mile off of Hwy 16 easy to find/ get to. Loved to be able to interact with the farm animals!
This is a beautiful place to rest after a day of exploring the nearby towns and Parks. You will not be disappointed. We enjoyed viewing the cows, chickens, goats, deer and turkey. The hiking trails were great and the views were spectacular. The cottage is immaculate with everything you need. The hosts are amazing.
This historical farmhouse/museum was a perfect quiet getaway from the city. Sharon quickly responded to our questions and needs from booking to checking out. The history of the farm and Fluitt family was so interesting, as were the many artifacts in/around the property. We enjoyed everything, but our highlight was watching the rain from the screened-in back porch. It was so peaceful! The Fluitt's are excellent hosts! I highly recommend this property! Thank you, Sharon and Nelson!
This is a wonderful property to stay at. Everything was clean, the hosts were fantastic and very communicative. There is a lot of history with this house and it was very interesting. You can walk down to the Pedernales River from the property and the trails are nice. Really close to downtown Fredericksburg shops, restaurants and wineries. Will definitely consider staying again!
This is an absolutely adorable little farmhouse! The history behind it is so rich that even someone like me who usually doesn't pay much mind to history had to appreciate it. You can definitely tell the age of the house by the squeaky floors, but it has been tastefully maintained and all the attention has been given to the details - from the farm fresh eggs in the fridge to the little closet of historical artifacts. I wish the king bed was a little more giving, but that's just personal preference. The bathroom is very quaint with a charming shower/tub. The screened in back patio is the perfect place to sit in the mornings and watch the sunrise. There are farm animals near the backyard that love attention (especially the goats!), as well as deer. There's also a lovely trail that will take you to a beautiful lookout point, down by the river, and then winds back around to the house. The host house is next door, and she is very kind and responsive. It is absolutely worth the short drive from downtown, we highly highly recommend!!
We loved everything about the house and property. First, it is very quiet. Even the roosters behaved. The Old Oak is absolutely a treasure as are the goats to pet and feed. A good nature trail takes you to the Pedernales River where you may see some deer. The house is well-decorated (girlfriend was very impressed--no small task when talking home decor). Plus, there's a great background story to the place. For a two-three day visit, this quiet comfy home is the pick to click. Only one nitpick: The TV isn't a smart one (to stream shows via apps) and we couldn't share iPhone content to the TV screen.
I enjoyed the spaciousness, but I would make the space more livable. There was no accommodations for placing luggage other than on the floor. When lounging in the TV room, there were no end tables for holding drinks. I think it could be improved immensely if the landlord were to actually stay there for a weekend and notice for themselves the various improvements needed
This was the cutest little farm house ever! So clean and convenient to downtown Fredericksburg, the Enchanted Rock, Wildseed Farm and Trade Days! The house and farm have such a great history. Be sure to read their album. It was so peaceful and the old oak tree is majestic! Loved sitting in the screened in porch to watch the sun rise!
Cozy farmhouse and very neat decorations from the time period. Great river access and very enjoyable and relaxing stay overall. Also super close to Fredericksburg to do stuff in town.
Amazing 2 night stay! Quaint and comfortable! Convenient at about 3 miles from Main Street with an HEB in between!!! Comfortable beds. Fresh eggs and pancake mix provided for breakfast. Wake up to goats and chickens on property. Hosts were super responsive and friendly. It was the perfect escape from DFW!! See you again!!!
