Reykjavik Seaside Apartment with Stunning Views

Our spacious 110sqm (1200sqft) apartment is located right at the sea and has three rooms. You get stunning sea and mountain views from all rooms, especially from the living room and the master bedroom. If you're lucky, the occasional seal comes visiting in the bay. If you're even luckier, you might even see the Northern Lights while lying in bed! During New Year's Eve, you have an amazing view on the fireworks all around.

The master bedroom has a queen-size double bed. The child room has a large kids bed, which an adult can also comfortably sleep in. The third room is our home office, with a desk with adjustable height and a big screen. In this room, we can place an inflatable (an pretty comfy) double bed. Finally, there is a convertible sofa (double) bed in the living room, which fits another two people. There is a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, a spacious living room, a balcony, and a laundry room with a washing machine. The apartment has high-speed wifi internet.

The apartment is located in a modern building in Reykjavik, about 6km from the city centre. By car, it takes less than 10 minutes there, but there is also a bus stop close by, with direct bus connections to the BSI bus terminal and the city centre.

The apartment is very well equipped, since it is our primary residence and we use it most of the time ourselves. Note that there is no TV - You'll have to look out of the window instead! If you like to work out, there is a yoga mat, an exercise bike, a Swedish ladder, and dumbbells. The hot water in the building is NOT sulphurous, unlike in most older buildings. There is parking space reserved for residents in front of the house.

The neighbourhood is very calm, safe, and pretty. The houses here have different, bright colours - some friends are referring to it as the "dollhouse neighbourhood" :) There are three playgrounds in the neighborhood.

Right next to the house is a small beach that we love to use for picnics and sea dips. Close by, you can go for walks along the seaside and in forested areas (as much as you get that in Iceland). Nearby Ellidaardalur has a lovely river with small waterfalls.
