Luxury Villa in idyllic hillside setting near Balchik

Villa Viola was built in 2007 on the hillside (hence the stunning views) above Balchik. With four large bedrooms, three doubles and one twin on the two upper floors, each with their own dressing room and ensuite bath/shower room. Two zbeds and a chair bed can be added to any of these rooms. All the rooms have beautiful panoramic views across to the Black Sea and three have furnished balconies to watch the sunrise, soak up the sun or just chill! Go downstairs to a large open plan kitchen/dining area that is fully fitted with fridge/freezer, cooker, hob, and microwave.. There is a seperate utility area with washing machine. The dining area leads into a comfortable seating area with TV/DVD with etc which is double aspect so the views can also be enjoyed from inside. There are blinds on every window to maintain a cool temperature plus air conditioning in every room.
There is a second lounge area to to left of the kitchen with good internet connection. Again there is TV/entertainment centre. Both TV's can be used to watch DVD's. There are no television channels because only Bulgarian channels are available and are not of very good quality. There is a selection of films/DVD's for guests to enjoy but feel free to bring your own particularly ones for younger children. There is free - no limit 10 Megabit Wi-Fi.
Every room has its own air-condtioning/heating unit. On the ground floor is a wet room with shower, basin and toilet. Double doors lead out from the kitchen/lounge area onto the covered terrace with large infinity swimming pool (no shallow end) and a garden and patio which are equipped with tables, chairs, sunbeds, parasols and BBQ.

Perfect for a family reunion

Good location, nice Black Sea view, infinity pool, air conditioning in every room, and living room. I recommend the Villa to all my Canadian friends.

It was a great family holiday, that gave us chance to catch Up with each other

We didn’t have a car which was fine as you could walk most places and if u wanted a taxi they weren’t expensive. The villa was wonderful and peaceful. We all had our own privacy when we needed and social when we didn’t. Pool fantastic! Temperature perfect without humidity! Host was brilliant and very helpful. Would go back in a heartbeat

In over a decade of renting this is by far the worst review we have had. The guests arrived in the evening and said they were unhappy with the cleaning. We arranged a cleaning team to attend the next morning but the client cancelled them. We had no complaints about anything being broken or req

Spacious villa

We had a great time at this villa staying with friends. We visited Balchik to play golf at the 3 local courses.The layout worked really well for us as each of us had our own floor with large bedrooms and bathrooms which made the stay comfortable.There were plenty of towels, enough sunbeds & the AC worked really well throughout the property.It is in a nice location, near a marina which has a selection of nice restaurants & bars, close to Albena beach resort & 3 golf courses. You can walk down to the marina in around 15-20 mins but it is down a big hill so walking back isn't quite so easy !. In our opinion a car is required. Taxis are available from the marina & taxi details are in the villa of a recommended driver who we used twice and was great.The communication we received from both the villa owner and the management company while at the villa was fantastic. We couldn't have asked for more & it was appreciated.The villa offers excellent value for money. While it may not match luxury standards of Spain or Portugal, it's well-priced. Both property rental and living costs in Bulgaria are much lower.We’d happily stay here again. It was great value for money, comfortable, well-located, and ideal for a relaxed golf trip with friends. We really enjoyed Bulgaria, the food was great, it has beautiful scenery & all the locals were so welcoming & friendly.

Très beau séjour en Bulgarie.

Belle découverte que les côtes de la Mer Noire. Notre séjour à Villa Viola s'est très bien passé. La maison est grande et son emplacement sur les hauteurs est idéal. Très belle piscine pour se rafraîchir. Balchik est une petite station balnéaire authentique, loin des abus immobiliers que l'on trouve plus au sud. La villa mérite un bon rafraîchissement pour lui redonner de sa superbe mais reste agréable.

Wohnung ist Ok, nicht ganz sauber und die Kanäle stinken, wenn man nicht regelmäßig Wasser eingiest. Insgesamt ist die Immobilie in die Jahre gekommen, aber das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist ok.Pool ist schön groß. Möbel im Außenbereich könnten ein Upgrade Vertragen.

Excellent Villa Good location , Great Beaches ideal for kids of all ages

I would recommend Villa and Location. Good Beaches. Looked after very well by Michala who looks after the villa.very friendly and has a wealth of knowledge about the area nothing was too much trouble . You don't really need a car as Taxi are so cheap. Albena Beach is great and the water park at Golden Sands is worth going to. The Verroni restaurant us a must . A very relaxing stay which was great for all .

Stunning views from this beautiful spacious villa

My family and I had a lovely stay in Villa Viola in June 2017. This was our first summer holiday to Bulgaria and we were not disappointed. We had transfers from Varna airport, this was extremely efficient and hassle free, these guys are polite and friendly which made us feel we were in safe hands. We arrived at the villa at night time. We were welcomed by Michaela with a lovely welcome pack. The villa was beautiful even in the dark. The lights in the pool were simply amazing. The villa was clean and so so so spacious. It really had a lot of character. The bedrooms were staggered across different levels and were all huge and en suit. The real hub was downstairs where the kitchen and seating area was. This worked well for meals and using the huge infinity pool as well as grabbing shade. We had some lovely meals out. This included "Sylvia's" which served great steak with exceptional service. We also visited the water park in Albena which is a worthwhile day out!!! I would recommend car rental for this location as this made popping out to supermarkets and the seafront much easier. (The villa is up a steep road, which helps the views but not my feet) I would definitely return! Thank you.

The most fabulous relaxing holiday ever!

I visited Villa Viola earlier on this month for 1 week with my boyfriend and 3 friends and all I can say is WOW! Stunning villa, views and location, I couldn't recommend a more beautiful, chilled place to go on holiday. The villa is very spacious, all bedrooms rooms have ensuits. The kitchen and pool area is great for entertaining, the pool is a decent size so perfect for large family's or groups. The Villa is about a 15 minute walk to the harbour, bars and restaurants but there was a couple of days I couldn't walk it due to being pregnant so we called a taxi which was so cheap. Balchik is a great location, very clean and we all felt extremely safe :) We are definitely going to book up next year for 2 weeks as a week just wasn't long enough.

I fell in love with Balchik and built the villa in 2007. 10 years on more and more visitors are finding the Varna region of Bulgaria a hidden gem and visitors numbers are growing. The perfect relaxation retreat

Villa Viola is situated in a beautiful position up in the hills overlooking the sea coast. Well maintained and in fabulous condition, all the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable all with en-suite bathrooms and two have private balconies. Have just come away from a fantastic week with friends chilling by the pool, fabulous BBQs and delicious meals from some of the local restaurants nearby. The villa is also walking distance of the bars and restaurants on the sea front, and Balchik Botanical Gardens. I couldn't recommend highly enough, and we would love to return again next year.

VillaViola - beautiful - calm and bright.

We loved our stay here.I travelled with my son & daughter neice and nephews 16/19/23/25 age brackets,all loved the place,spending hours just enjoying the pool which was very refreshing and essential.The whether was perfect sun for 10 days continuous and we enjoyed fantastic BBQ's on the terrace. The interior is stylishly decorated and just nice homely touches around you - loved the DVD selection. Pool lights glowed and the little birds that would just skim the water and fly off at a certain time of the afternoon were very sweet. Peaceful and delightful - appeal to all ages and types. From beginning to end we were looked after very warmly and with a really sincerely helpful attitude. Everything was made easy from flight advice to pick ups, car hire etc - all taken care of. Total relax from start to finish - Well - i was reluctant to write this as now it's going to get booked up and I'll miss my slot :-)....................

WOW!!!! What can I say? We have just returned from a two break at Villa Viola and had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrived when we were greeted by Michaela to the moment we left at 5AM when again Michaela was there to bid us goodbye it was perfect. the welcome pack was first class with plenty provisions to get us through till we could go shopping the following day. The villa itself was the best I have stayed in and I have stayed in many!!!! The views were stunning and watching the sunset from the balcony every evening what a perfect way to end the day. From the oldest member of the group 64 years to the youngest 2 years old everyone had a brilliant time. The pool kept us all entertained and the sunbathing was ideal. Thanks to all for making our holiday such a memorable one

First class place !

We have just returned from our vacation Villa Viola a few weeks ago and we are so pleased we chose this villa for our family reunion with our extended family from the USA and Romania. There is plenty of room, the kitchen is huge and has everything you need, and the pool is absolutely gorgeous. There is wifi, TV, air conditioning, a grill, microwave, etc. - there isn't anything we were lacking for. A couple of days we just sunbathed in the back yard and dipped in the pool and grilled in the afternoon - absolute peace and seclusion. The views of the black sea are tremendous. Having your first cup of coffee in the morning and sitting on the balcony and staring out over the sea just made my day. If you want something that is pretty private and you just want to relax with your friends or family this is the place. Finally, all of our interactions with Neil (the owner of the property) and Michaela ( who manages the property) were superb. They wanted to make sure that everything was taken care for us and that we were happy. Its a first class place, but more importantly, its run by first class people. Thanks Neil and Michaela for making this such a wonderful holiday and family reunion for us. Thank you !

Wonderful stay at Villa Viola

My husband and I rented quite a few vacation houses and apartments in Western Europe and the US and I have to say Villa Viola in Blachick, Bulgaria is probably the most beautiful house we ever stayed in. Where should I start: the view and the pool are absolutely fantastic, the house is sparklingly clean, quiet, very well kept, tastefully decorated; its layout was perfect for our extended family (6 people). On arrival we found milk, cheese, bread, wine, cookies, etc. waiting for us at the house. It was such a pleasure to meet Michaela, she was gracious and helpful at every step; my husband mentioned in passing that we will be celebrating a birthday during our staying and that day we found a surprise gift from Michaela – a box of Cadbury chocolates ( the best chocolate in the world –in my opinion). I also mentioned that my 7 year old daughter loves dogs and Michaela brought over her adorable cocker spaniel – the two of them had a blast. Overall we has a wonderful experience; we hope to be back at Villa Viola very soon! We very highly recommend it!

Most wonderful holiday - August 2012

We have just returned after spending a fantastic week in Bulgaria in the best villa ever! Back in February when we were looking for a holiday we decided to visit Bulgaria as we thought it would be different from the usual places and wanted to stay in a villa rather than a hotel as we had teenagers with us and thought it would give us more flexibility. We certainly got lucky when we 'Googled villas in Bulgaria' and after looking through a couple of other possibilities, found Villa Viola. The pictures and description sounded wonderful but being very sceptical, spoke to Jan to ask more questions which she was very happy to answer and based on these answers, we booked. All our questions prior to our arrival were answered very promptly and thoroughly. As the booking included our transfers from the airport, we were picked up by two very friendly brothers who run the car hire company we were renting the car from. Whilst the car wasn't new, it was clean and reliable. Although we arrived at night, nothing prepared us for when we set eyes on the villa - it was simply stunning. The pictures don't do it justice at all. We were met by Michaela, who lives there, and is just one of the nicest people you could wish to meet. She gave us the guided tour and explained how everything worked and gave us her contact details in case we needed her during our stay. We did but only to ask where to buy a birthday cake from!! I was worried in case the villa wasn't going to be clean but I had no concerns - it was immaculate and very well maintained. There was so much space, we didn't feel cramped or overcrowded at all. Whilst we didn't do much cooking (as it was so amazingly cheap to eat out), the kitchen was very well equipped and we certainly had everything we needed. The pool was just wonderful and it was such a pleasure to have it all to ourselves. We went to Albena a couple of times to the beach which was clean and not too crowded. We ate out at a different restaurant most nights and found all the staff very helpful and most of them spoke very good English. As I mentioned, the food was good value and good quality. We didn't do a lot of sightseeing as we just wanted a relaxing holiday which we got. To sum up: if you want a relaxing holiday, in a beautiful villa, rented out by a very helpful owner, at a reasonable price, you can't do any better than renting Villa Viola.

Holiday in Villa Viola

June 2011 Had a wonderful time and will definitely be visiting Bulgaria again. The accommodation was very relaxing being entertained by the swifts and swallow who visited the pool several times during the day.it was clean and well maintained... We could not fault it! The trek to the villa is very steep, and I would recommend a vehicle, which Neil had pre-arranged for us. The hire company met us at the airport and led us back to the villa; although very grateful due to the flight arriving late, we did not expect to drive straight away. The villa was very spacious, being over three levels having balconies on the second and third floor, which gave wonderful views over the sea. Wi-Fi, which has just been fitted, allowed us to Skype family and friends at home. We were met at the villa by Mike and his wife, who quickly made us feel at home and even phone the local bar to make sure they were still doing food. A welcome pack allowed us chance to leave the shopping until later the next day. Thank you for this. Bulgaria is a green and varied country, the people are very accommodating, and nothing too much trouble. Visit the palace, and eat at the restaurant and the bottom by the seafront, amazing food. The only criticism we had was there was no details on where to eat and the weather, but Mike sorted this out and recommended local restaurants, shame he couldn’t sort out the weather, but other than this, I would definitely recommend, we all had a relaxing time in Villa voila thank you. We have just returned from a 2 week stay at Villa Viola and it was probably one of the best holidays we have ever had. The villa is beautiful. It is situated on a hill over looking Balchik which is a very pretty fishing town. The views from the villa are fantastic and really make staying there a real experience. We have 2 boys and they loved the pool, morning, noon and night! Sitting on the balcony at night enjoying a drink and view was very relaxing. The restaurants are very good and very reasonable, much cheaper than holiday destinations with the euro. The beach at Albena was great, not too busy with white sand and very safe for children as it is shallow for quite a way out. I would recommend this villa to anyone wanting a great relaxing holiday.

Fantastic holiday!

I decided this year that it would be nice to go somewhere sunny and warm with 5 of my friends for my birthday in July. I was first looking at Croatia, but then came across Villa Viola in Balchik, Bulgaria. The villa looked stunning and very good value for money. Bulgaria seemed like a different type of holiday destination and we were all very keen to go somewhere a bit undiscovered. So we decided to book the villa for a week. All of us agree that it was the best holiday we have ever had! There were 6 of us (aged between 25 and 34) staying at the villa. The villa was gorgeous and the best part was definitely the pool with the stunning views over Balchik and the Black Sea. The weather was hot and sunny all week. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and be able to jump in the pool before breakfast. In the afternoon the birds would put on a show for us by flying over the pool and dipping themselves into it. We’ve never seen anything quite like it! We flew in to Varna from London Luton with Wizz Air. The flights were a bit pricey (about 250 GBP per person), but once you get to Bulgaria everything is so cheap that it will make up for the cost of the flights. Balchik is a lovely little town. The people there were very friendly and there are plenty of nice restaurants, bars and pubs. My fiancé and I had a lovely meal at one of the more “luxurious” restaurants and only spent about 40 GBP for one starter, two main meals, two side dishes and a bottle of wine. The customer service was of a very high standard everywhere we went. Albena beach is a very short drive away and there you can do lots of water sports. Two of us decided to do parasailing, which was very affordable (about 25 GBP per person) and such a fun experience! If you’re looking for a relaxing holiday in a quiet location, then Balchik and Villa Viola are definitely right for you! The owner was very helpful and arranged for car hire (very affordable!) and transfer service for us. My friends and I usually never go to the same place twice for a holiday, but we are seriously considering going back to Villa Viola.

A Hidden Gem!

We have just returned (August 09) from the Villa Viola and would recommend it highly. There were 6 of us in total - 2 Adults and 4 teenagers, and everyone agreed it was brilliant. The weather was fantastic, the villa beautiful and luxurious and the pool was to die for. What a joy to walk out first thing in the morning to glorious sunshine and a dip in the pool, then breakfast on the terrace. The owner was extremely helpful and honest, available by phone and email if anything needed sorting out, and he always responded quickly. The area was beautiful with plenty to do - loads of cheap water sports at Albena beach (just a few minutes away by car) and the Bulgarian people appear to take safety very seriously, not taking us up parasailing if the sea was too choppy or windy. We never felt we were being ripped off by anyone, people were honest and wanted to help. Prices were very low and the quality of food in restaurants etc. was very good. You would need a car for this property - up a very steep hill and in a fairly remote location (which adds to its charm), but again car hire is not expensive. The owner will help you to arrange this as he has an agreement with a local firm who were really helpful to us. All in all, a hidden gem - why we haven't discovered Bulgaria before I don't know, but the Villa Viola will certainly tempt us back for another visit, and we don't usually go anywhere twice! We would recommend this to families with teenagers, groups of adults (the villa is very large so you can get away from each other if you need to!) and anyone who just wants a taste of the "real Bulgaria" without the hardships. One last thing - don't take Euros - take Levs. We took both, but actually Levs are the currency used everywhere, and as it is a cash economy, they are all you need. You can get money out of ATM/cash machines in Balchik just the same as you can elswhere in europe. A great holiday - fantastic location, lovely villa and perfect weather.
