Splendid Cannes Villa, Gated Community, Private pool

Markus, Thanks for the kind words and your feedback. Replacing much of garden furniture is something we plan to do along with several other infrastructure improvements for next season. We're so glad you had a perfect stay all the same.

I find your feedback entirely unrepresentative of our other guest’s experiences. Your review lacks balance and you have chosen just to focus on your perception of the negative aspects without giving due recognition to the positives. We have never been given a 1 star before by any guest in over 10 years of renting and so we do find this rating to be grossly inaccurate and down-right wrong. We hosted your party during the low season when extensive garden and villa maintenance chores were being done, so without doubt the Villa was not at its finest during your stay. But neither was the rate you paid, which was our lowest of the year. Nevertheless, your expectations were amongst the highest of any of our guests. It's truism that guests that pay the least often expect the most. We did have one defect occur during your stay namely the shower that you refer to. It's a shame that you didn't report this to us at the time of your stay, rather than saving this feedback for your review. As we do have another 3 showers in the Villa I anticipate that this situation was somewhat manageable for you in any case. The front of the Villa where the large Terrace, Summer Kitchen and Outside Dining area reside are completely private and quiet; Yes there is a little more noise at the rear of property where it is closest to the road. However most of our guests do not have a problem with this; as the outdoor spaces that that are the most utilised, are also the most beautiful and tranquil. We always strive to offer great quality and value; going to great lengths to ensure that our guests experience this. Evidently this was not the case for you during your stay. There are many other Cannes options for Villa rental and the bar for excellence is indeed high, as is the price for such excellence! We believe strongly however that none with the same high quality indoor and outdoor spaces are priced as competitively as us; a point which is completely missing from your review. Homeaway have also recently recognised the excellance and our proven track record of high quality hosting with it's Premier Partner Rating. We will continue to keep making improvements and to keep raising the bar!

Mosquitoes are unfortunately just a fact of life on the Cote d'Azur and all along the Med, in Italy and Spain. You'll also find them well inland in towns such as Lyon and all along the Loire Valley. There is nothing we can do to prevent them outside the Villa. We do provide repellent devices in the Villa and as all rooms are air conditioned, you can sleep with windows closed to keep these pests out. Our Air Conditioned Conservatory is another option for dining if you prefer not to spend too long outside in the evening for fear of these creatures. We're not alone with summer flying nuisances, even in colder climes you won't escape, Scotland has a massive midge problem for instance; 68 billion someone has estimated!

We've owned this Villa for 10 years and in this time the communal pool has never had a serious technical issue during the summer that required it to be completed drained and refilled, before this occasion. Unfortunately this pool problem was completely beyond our control; it was fully resolved after Andrey's stay and all our other guests had a fully working Pool. I have offered Andrey a partial refund for the inconvenience the forced temporary pool closure caused his party. This one off pool issue has evidently tainted Audrey perspective of other aspects of Villa Ad Alta. His other comments viewpoints not being substantiated by our other guest reviews. We believe we provide excellent Quality, Facilties and Space, with a 150m2 of living space in a detached 900m2 plot, at price point that offers great value. We are constantly improving Villa Ad Alta and have just installed Super-Fast Fiber based broadband in order to continue to improve VAAs excellent facilities. This along with it's fantastic location in a secure gated and private Domain which has a super vintage character and charm, I'm sure will continue to be appreciated by our future guests.

Karen, we're pleased you had a pleasant stay. As regards no provision of sun loungers in the communal Pool area. The decision by Domain's management team not provide them is a common one with shared pool facilities in France. I'm afraid sun loungers are very high wear and tear items that need constant maintenance and replacement; hence the reason for not providing them in the Communal Pool area. We do provide them within VAA's private grounds however. The Mezzanine bedroom we state is unsuitable for the elderly or children in our listing details, so hopefully all prospective renters should be aware of this in advance. The Mezzanine has Futon style size bed, which does have a somewhat firm mattress type, which whilst excellent for your back (and used by millions of Japanese), is not so good for those that like soft mattresses. The Coffee machine is yet another high wear and tear item. We always provide a Cafeteria and Filter Coffee Machine and we keep spares of these at the Villa; so if you had communicated your coffee machine problems to our property manager, he would have immediately been able to supply a replacement. We endeavour to provide highly price competitive quality Cannes Villa accommodation. Sleeping Capacity, Location, Quality, Price are the key factors in rental Villa selection and based on these we always aim to provide outstanding value.

We're so glad your enjoyed your stay and thanks for the feedback. Our property manager resolved the A/C issue. Apparently it's related to the settings. We'll make a point of running through A/C usage instructions during the Guest Welcome and in writing in our Guest manual.

We are pleased that Villa Ad Alta provided you will a pleasant stay. The Chalet WiFi problem is due to a compatibility issue. We will take step to replace the WiFi Access Point with an updated model supporting wider compatibility with different devices.
