This was another fantastic stay in Waltham. Mark communicates exceptionally well, and his properties offer all the comforts of home while we're on the road. This unit faces the train tracks, so if you're sensitive to noise, consider bringing earplugs or a sound machine. Having grown up near the commuter rail, I actually love the sound of the train passing by. My wife, however, wasnât as fond of it, but earplugs and a sound machine completely eliminated the issue. The space is spacious and clean, with a washer/dryer combo conveniently located by the front door, away from the bedrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, including a coffee station stocked for the entire stay. We look forward to the next trip up that way!
Safe, comfortable, convenient to public transportation. Short walk to the Charles River path. Very comfortable apartment, plenty of room for my teens to relax.
Kitchen was well stocked and easy to use.
We needed a rental close to a football camp my son was attending. This rental was easily accessible, a skip away from the train station and very clean!
Thank you for having us.
Good stay. Very clean apartments. The queen beds are good, the single bed is ok (got back ache sleeping on it).
Restaurants and groceries in walking distance. The only hick-up was the door was unlocked when we got back in one of the days, but nothing stolen.
Great modern property. Very clean.
We wanted to be in Waltham near Brandeis.
It is just across the street from the train station so you could get into boston easily. The train was not loud and we did not hear it at night.
We stopped off to visit Boston for a few days of sightseeing. Apartment was scarcely furnished but sufficient for our stay.
There could have been additional towels for bathroom and the sheets on second bed were not dry. We assume they were washed and put on bed before they were dry.
Location was convenient to Boston and food options were great,
The property owner posts pictures of one unit and then puts you in another. The unit we were put in had no decor, no kitchen island, scuffs all over the walls like there had been a brawl, and was nowhere close to the unit that we had booked. Nowhere in the listing did it state that we would not be placed in the unit that was pictured. it was a nightmare going through the refund process and finding something new in the Boston area in the middle of the summer with one days notice. AVOID this place at all costs!!!
We booked what looked like a lovely 2B/2B apt. in Waltham, which is a suburb close to Boston. Nice community. Safe. 20-25 mins away from the action in Boston. The photos of the unit I booked were very nice. We rent on VRBO about 3-5 times per year. We are experienced travelers and have used VRBO about 20 times. 90% of the time we have truly enjoyed the property and would surely stay there again. This was not the case. The property manager, Mark, is nice and was responsive. He just placed us in an alternate apt. than the one we booked. He rents a few in the same bldg. I was specific about which unit I wanted. The one we got was barren of any and all decor, had worn furniture, and the walls were scuffed and needed painting/touch ups everywhere. The bldg. is basic, cheap fabrication and feels like an office bldg. and not a residential bldg. It all felt super weird. Not very clean bldg. or unit. Cheap, vanilla stuff you would expect in a college dorm. The beds were fairly comfortable. The AC and heater worked. The kitchen had barely any pantry items and looked worn and beat up. Our master bathroom shower broke on day 1 and was repaired by day 2 but it remained noisy and dripped water sporadically while we were there. Location-wise the bldg. is okay, close to a lot of shoppes and restaurants and the local community feel is nice. This bldg. and the units rented by Mark need care and repair. Our time in Boston was great & Waltham is a good place to stay. Charging a security deposit on top of paying an insurance to protect that apt. made no sense. If you stay there manage your expectations. Iâd give it a 2 out of 5.
All went as planned. He moved us to a very similar unit in the building and it was great. My only complaint and it really wasnât a big thing. There was only three coffee mugs for 4 people. Otherwise it was very well equipped. It was only a 20 min Uber drive to Boston and there was plenty of great restaurants within walking distance. We felt very safe.
We enjoyed our stay we didn't hear the train at night. Place is very quiet you feel like you are the only person there. Thanks the good time you can walk to many places.
Our stay at Waltham Landing was perfect for us. The apartment was spacious and well equipped, and the beds were so comfy. It was super easy to ride the train inbound into Boston because itâs less than a 5 minute walk from the apartment to the station. A ârestaurant rowâ is just a short walk away as well (less than a mile). We loved the town of Waltham and couldnât have asked for a better place to stay. We will deginitely stay here again if we ever make it back to the area.
Really enjoyed our 2-week stay here. The location is within an easy walk to the restaurants on Moody street. Building is quiet. Parking in the lot is a huge plus. Our unit was well-equipped and roomy. Mark was an excellent host and responded quickly to any issues we had.
We had a great stay with easy access to amenities in Waltham and all the surrounding communities. We visited Concord, Walden Pond, Alcott House, Brandeis University, etc. We didnât have plans to see Boston this time, but as close as we were to the train were tempted!
The apartment itself was well appointed and comfortable ⊠great for cooking and hanging out as a family.
The unit was great -- clean and spacious and perfect for our four-person group. Mark was very communicative and helped us try to hunt down a lost personal item after check-out. We would definitely stay here again.
Mark was a great host and his apartment was comfortable and well-equipped at a convenient location. The immediate proximity of the train to the property is great for access to the city, but light sleepers might have an issue with the train noise at night.
We loved our stay at Waltham Landing. We were visiting our daughter who lives in Waltham and this place was perfect! The unit was very clean and comfortable. The train is right outside your window but we knew that from the description. We would definitely stay here again!
I'm 30 years old, from Belmont, MA - only a couple miles away from where I live now in Waltham. I grew up spending summers on Cape Cod where I helped operate my family's bed and breakfast on the beach - The Beach House Inn - in West Dennis. I graduated from Princeton University in 2014 where I majored in English and rowed on the heavyweight crew team and have worked in the hospitality and real estate business ever since. I look forward to hosting you!
The location is perfect for someone wanting to visit Boston but stay in the suburbs. We are located steps from the MBTA commuter rail station (20 minute ride into Boston), but also far enough outside the city to avoid traffic and do some rural exploring as well. We are also right on the Charles River, with is gorgeous bike/walking path and kayak/paddleboard rentals in the warmer months. Moody St is a block away, with countless restaurants and bars, as well as a movie theater.
