Casa Sun Sand Surf est une charmante maison située en bord de mer sur la magnifique plage de Pochomil, juste en face des «rideaux d'eau» (Las Cortinas). Son seulement une heure de route de Managua. En entrant dans la maison, vous aurez une vue spectaculaire à 180 degrés sur l'océan Pacifique. Vous entrez dans la zone ouverte composée de deux bois nobles, de bambou et de toit de chaume (rancho), l’une est la salle à manger en plein air et l’autre est le salon ouvert, avec une douche ouverte et une salle de bain à une extrémité, tout y compris meubles en béton et bois précieux, avec coussins et décor blancs et de couleurs vives. Beachy et concept ouvert simple.
Vous avez un patio confortable lorsque vous entrez dans les deux chambres et la salle de bain. Chacune des chambres a sa propre salle de bain, climatisation et ventilateur au plafond.
Une chambre a un lit king size et l'autre a deux lits jumeaux. Les lits sont en coton d'excellente qualité, de nombreux fils, des couettes confortables et des oreillers king-size.
La cuisine contient tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour préparer de délicieux repas et profiter d'un repas en plein air. Vous disposez également d'un barbecue à gaz sur la terrasse. La cuisine a une porte vitrée qui peut être complètement ouverte pour admirer la mer.

Quelques marches plus bas, vous arriverez à la spectaculaire piscine à débordement de plus de 20 pieds face à l'océan Pacifique, avec une terrasse d'où vous pourrez regarder les magnifiques levers et couchers de soleil. Quelques marches plus bas de la terrasse de la piscine, vous serez à la plage où vous pourrez vous baigner sous les chutes d’eau (Las Cortinas) à marée haute ou profiter des bassins à marée basse lors des marées basses. Vous pouvez également vous promener sur la vaste plage au nord ou au sud.

La charmante maison de 2 chambres / 2, 5 salles de bains est idéale pour un ou deux couples ou petites familles qui souhaitent passer un séjour paisible juste en face de l’océan aprox. 27 pieds au-dessus du niveau de la plage.

Masachapa, le village de pêcheurs est à environ 10 minutes en voiture et San Rafael del Sur est à environ 20 minutes en voiture. À Masachapa, vous trouverez des restaurants, des épiceries, des marchés de poisson et de fruits frais, des guichets automatiques, etc. Si vous aimez faire de l'aventure en VTT ou à cheval, vous pourrez les louer à proximité, à Pochomil. Vous pourrez également pratiquer d'autres activités comme le surf et la pêche dans les environs. San Rafael del Sur est la ville la plus proche de la plage, à environ 20 minutes en voiture.

Le Nicaragua est un pays magnifique où vous pourrez visiter différentes villes coloniales, villes coloniales, volcans, lacs et lagunes. C’est la raison pour laquelle le Nicaragua s’appelle le pays des lacs et des volcans.

Carlos et Juana sont les gardiens à domicile. Ils ont tous les deux une excellente attitude pour le service.

Lovely place

My family had an incredible time! Arlando was an absolute expert and kept us in the loop throughout our stay. There was a tiny hiccup with the water, but Carlos swooped in and fixed it right away. And oh my gosh, Juana cooked for us every single day! She was so sweet and patient, and her food was absolutely mouthwatering. We absolutely adore her cooking!

Pochomil for our birthdays!

We were 2 couples that stayed at Arnoldo’s place for a week. The outdoor space was beautiful, the pool area was amazing and Carlos & Juana were great. They were there for anything we needed and Juana cooked us an amazing Nicaraguan dinner for my friends birthday. The only reason we didn’t get her to cook more was that both of our husbands are great cooks. We would highly recommend this place and would stay here again.

Everything we hoped and more!!

First, Arnoldo is a wonderful host. He is a great communicator before, during and after the stay. He made nice recommendations, arranged for cooking by Juana and went out of his way to rectify my error (I forgot to return the keys and he met me in Managua for their return). Juana and Carlos are the most pleasant and kind people. Juana is a fabulous cook at a very reasonable price. The beach was very relaxing and amazing for the shell searching my wife loves to do. We hope to be back!!

Priceless nature views!

¡Fue espectacular! Spectacular! The home had all the amenities we needed. We felt safe and the people where so kind. Having the choice between beach and pool was more than what we needed. The bedrooms were more than accommodating, each with its own bathroom. There's a separate bathroom in the living space as well and that was an added benefit. Went with our 82 year old mom and she was in love with it all. It was a true adventure to a small piece of paradise. Relaxing is not the right word. We enjoyed the views, the people and their families, and all nature provides. It was wow!

Relaxing

Our stay was very relaxing, the pool was very nice and very clean. Jauna and Carlos took very good care of us💕 they are very lovely people. The house was very clean and mostly stocked well. Arnoldo was very helpful in organizing our driver, Elias, who took us to Leon and grocery shopping. Christine and I spent a lot of time on the beach collecting cool rocks, our favourite thing👏 If you want a relaxing holiday this is the place to go. Loved the hammocks, a lot👏 I would recommend this house to my friends👏 Thank you Arnoldo, Jauna, Carlos and Elias, miss you all❤️

We loved it!!!

This was a wonderful place to stay and we plan to come back with another couple next time. One of the most excellent places we have ever stayed at for vacation homes! The house is exactly as described and more. Arnoldo made our stay very easy and convenient. He communicated very well with us. He assisted us with booking excursions and helped greatly with directions. I would recommend renting an ATV that he had delivered to the beach entrance near the pool which allowed my wife and I to explore the near by fishing village and bought very affordable lobsters and crabs for Juana (the cook) to prepare to perfection. We also surfed near by in Pochomil that was fun. For the relaxing part of our stay at this home, we enjoyed the pool and sun bathing area where we also got couples massages as the sun set. The rock wall at the beach is very unique and fun to explore when the tide is out. When the tide is in, it is a blast to play in the natural pools as the waves crash over. The family that takes care of this property live next door and will assist with anything when needed. They will also run any errands for supplies for a very small fee which helped us enjoy more time at the beach or pool. We had Juana cook many meals for us and we enjoyed them at the dining nook with amazing views. The house was very clean and was kept clean our entire stay. We have nothing negative to say. Thanks for your hospitality!

A Great Experience - muchas gracias

Overall our stay was awesome. The beach house was perfect for us. The ocean, view, accommodations and hosts were beyond expectation. We (myself, husband, 4 year old son and brother in law) stayed here for 5 nights. Juana cooked for us and it was delicious. Carlos kept the property and pool very clean and was available any time we needed. Arnoldo was very easy to communicate with, friendly, helpful and quick to respond to questions. The location of the beach house is very quiet and relaxing. To start I will say that arriving in the evening was probably not the best choice. We drove to the beach house and didn’t realize the sun sets around 6:30. The location was not difficult to find but there are many dirt roads and renting a 4x4 or hiring a driver would be less stressful. Also I would keep to main paved roads (hwy 1 and hwy 8) Google maps tried to give us “short-cuts” and those are a VERY bad idea. I think it is important to mention that very few people in this area speak even a tiny bit of English. Google translate is helpful if needed. Other than these learning opportunities (lol), we absolutely love Nicaragua! The vibe here is very relaxing, safe and the people are friendly and helpful. And very importantly, the fresh healthy food is something we will miss. Because of this great experience, we are now seriously talking about getting a place of our own here. Thanks Arnoldo, Juana and Carlos for being such great hosts! Highly recommend:)

Entertaining at a Small Beach House in Old Pochomil

Entertaining was easy at Sun-Sand-Surf. The house gets sea breezes in the morning and land breezes in the afternoon. The sitting and dining areas face the lawn, infinity pool, a sandy beach, and a ridge of rocks. At high tide, the waves spray and surge over them like a fountain, leaving sandy pools at low tide, fascinating for my baby granddaughter. While I used the house to host two families, consecutively, it is fine for a couple, sleeps four adults properly, and up to six if most are kids. You can get three small cars in the garage if you park them right. My reunion with a former colleague turned into a two-day party with his family. The house is pretty much baby-proofed. Pochomil in the dry season is too hot even for the hammocks. Better to be in the surf near Pochomil, a km. down the beach, or taking a nap under an air conditioner. Except for horses trotting by or grazing the beach, little distracts from the ocean view. The day after Christmas, the beach filled with people, pick-ups and horses. Kids and families sat in the tidepools when the surf was high, hearing it break on the other side and shrieking when a wave surged over and drenched them. The beach was empty again the next day. After my guests left, the big house next door came to life. Boys and dogs explored the beach. A bartender arranged white chairs on the sand. Men talked at the barbeque. Women, shoulders bared or covered by scarves, settled in and toasted the sunset. It looked like a scene from the Kennedy estate in Hyannis. Juana met my appetite and those of my son, his nursing wife and baby daughter with comida tipica, a dozen vegetables and tubers, twice as many fruit, and dozens of bananas for the baby. Each day we ate fish that had swum half a mile off the beach the previous night or that morning. After an 8-hour layover in San Salvador, I slept to NYC, cleared Customs, rechecked my suitcase, and trekked through terminals with my Canada Air boarding pass issued by United on behalf of Avianca. Boarding the flight to Ottawa, I finished my book, passed Customs again, and left the terminal with the bus driver. While unpacking, it started to snow. Grateful for the morning flight, I made another coffee, started the wash, and walked through slush to the grocery to find the longest lines of the year. The cashier explained, “Lots of specials today because we’re closed tomorrow. Happy New Year's.” Hope to see you again in 2020.

Muy buena estadia

Buena estadia, la casa muy bonita, Carlos y Juana muy amables. Arnoldo siempre atento de cualquier consulta y requerimiento, muy buena comunicacion con él. Lo que si recomendaria es poner un poco mas de seguridad para las familias como nosotros que viajamos con niños pequeños en la parte de arriba donde estan las cuerdas. Pero la estadia estuvo excelente. Muchas gracias por todo Arnoldo.

Le paradis...ou presque!

Nous avons beaucoup aimé notre séjour à Sun Sand and Surf. La maison était propre et confortable et Juana et Carlos, le couple responsable de notre bonheur, des plus agréables. C'aurait été le paradis, n'eut été que la maison est située sur une route difficile d'accès. Comme il n'y a que très peu d'offre de restauration autour, nous avons été forcés de manger à la maison. Nous avons fait appel aux services de Carlos pour les courses et de Juana pour la cuisine. Même Arnoldo, le propriétaire, a contribué en nous offrant généreusement ce qu'il fallait pour un repas de pâtes puisque nous n'avions apporté aucune nourriture le jour de notre arrivée. Si vous louez cette maison, suivez les conseils d'Arnoldo et faîtes vos courses à Managua. Juana cuisinera de belle façon tout ce que vous désirerez...et Carlos vous dénichera des poissons frais chaque jour. Nous avons profité de cet environnement enchanteur au maximum. Merci Arnoldo de partager cette belle demeure...à laquelle nous aurions aimé voir ajouter des ventilateurs de plafond dans l'espace salon et salle à manger. En mai, la température est suffocante au Nicaragua! Si vous aimez la tranquillité et êtes de nature contemplative, cette maison est pour vous. N'hésitez pas, c'est presque le paradis! Lovely stay in awesome beach house

We really enjoyed the outdoor living area and the gorgeous view from sunrise to sunset. The pool was fantastic! The position of the house on a large stretch of beach is ideal. In our opinion, the nicest house and pool on the entire beach! Carlos and Juanita were available for anything you might need. Arnoldo was very helpful with reservations and information about the town.

A very comfortable piece of heaven!!

Having been to Nicaragua every year for the last 15 years on the beach in Pochomil, I have to say this was our best trip to date! We usually stay in a larger, more sophisticated home. They always came with too many bedrooms for two people. This one was perfect and we loved the view of the rocks right in front of the house. We rented a three wheeler and road down the beach to areas that are undeveloped (and I hope never will be). It was one of the most beautiful scenes I have ever witnessed. Millions of shells and you couldn't tell where the sky met the ocean. It was totally silver. Arnoldo, Carlos and Juanita are unbelievably kind and helpful in everyway. There, if you need them, invisable if you don't. I would suggest adding a couple of ceiling fans in the seating hall for the heat in the beginning of May is extreme. As soon as Arnoldo heard my husband was complaining about this a new fan appeared in a matter of hours. Oh yes! The pool is lush! As a realtor for 22 years in the Atlanta, GA area, I would best describe this home as a rustic Nicaraguan paradise. Thank you, Arnoldo! Can't wait to return!!

Paradise on earth

This is the place we have been looking for. Norwegians with previous experience of Nicaragua, we wanted to spend some winter weeks away from "everything". In the sun, on the beach, enjoying the sea and the soothing breeze. We chose a quiet season for calm and privacy. We stayed three weeks. Security was never an issue, we felt safe. Here we have found our spot, and will be back next year ! The relatively small, charming and comfortable house is overlooking the private pool, the Pacific and the endless empty beaches. The house has been built with a very good taste, the furnishings (the hammocks !) and installations are practical and comfortable. The open ample terrace, under thatched roof, serves as both living room, terrace and dining area. The two bedrooms are small, but clean. A/C and fans secure comfort. Fresh linen and towels are provided. The adjacent private bathrooms are clean, and the shower has cold and hot water. The kitchen has freezer, refri and a stove. A gaz barbecue is available at the far end of the terrace. Modern cutlery, glassware and utensils are provided. Juana is very helpful in the kitchen. Although purchases and provisions should be made at supermarkets in Managua, local provisions of fresh seafood, fruits and vegetables may be made locally. (in Masachapa), with the assistance of Carlos and Juana. We have enjoyed our stay spending the days reading (books and wifi), long walks on the beach, cold refreshments and seafood at local restaurants in walking distance from the house. Unique location

The property is lovely and we enjoyed it very much. Situated overlooking the Pacific with the pool was perfect. We swam and did yoga and it was quite exhilarating. Arnoldo looked after us on arrival and organised a car/driver who was very good and I recommend this way to get around as it is great value. On the first day we stayed in Managua and went to the Volcano and nearby lake where we swam and had lunch. Good start. We then travelled to the property. One thing that is important we needed to go shopping at a supermarket in Managua as there aren"t any in Pochemil. You need to stock up on basics and especially meat if you require it. At the property we were looked after by Carlos and Juana and they were delightful. You need to be able to communicate in Spanish but they are so courteous and got things sorted. You do need to communicate the daily food requirements quite well as there are not many restaurants etc. Juana prepared most of the food and Carlos went and got most of the fresh vegetables and fruit locally. He will also buy fish and seafood from the local fisherman. We lived on this and it was fantastic. We really loved the simple way Juana prepared the food and we developed a real taste for rice and beans. The sea was warm and it would be great for surfing beginners and a local expert is on hand. It offers some great fun with waves coming over the rocks and with a little caution is a nice distraction. The beach was great for walks but it is Volcanic sand so not particularly a sit out in the sun style beach - although you can. You can horse ride or hire quad bikes as well so there is plenty to do. All in all a highly interesting yet restful five days. From there we went to Grenada which we really enjoyed - old style town, good food and a brilliant buzzing daily market. You can people watch all day. There are also many other things you can do in Nicaragua and Grenada is a good base for this. Although we didn't get to them they offer nature resorts, walks and wildlife - something we would like to do next time. *One note I feel is worth mentioning - Nicaragua is a place of great contrasts and you have to take it as it is. The roads were really good but there is quite a lot of debris such as plastic around. Pochemil has very little and is surrounded by the locals who live very basically. It felt safe but it is in great contrast to the property. To us it was part of the experience.

We loved the open air concept !! Views are amazing

We stayed for 5 days and it was way too short !! There was 4 adults and 1 Child , lots of room for all of us and the pool was set up great for both adults and kids . The thing the really stood out from this amazing house and property was the staff , Arnoldo was great to deal with and even went as far as to help book our next rental !! Carlos and Glenna were always there to help and are some of the nicest people you will ever meet ...

I am Nicaraguan, from Leon. I lived in Florida, US, for over 12 years, and returned to Managua, Nicaragua in 1990s. I have always enjoyed the beach and specially to Pochomil where I spend quality time with my daughter, family and friends. I like to swim in the sea and in the pool, walk in the beach and admire the sunsets.

I purchased the lot in 2008 and started constructing the exterior wall around the lot in 2010 and in 2015 - 2016 we finished remodeling the house and constructed the pool.
We do a constant maintenance to keep the property in excellent conditions, to enjoy and to be able to share with you, our guests.
