Welcome to this private 9 acre peninsula on Pelican Lake in Ashby. Privacy and breathtaking views best describe this 3-bedroom, 2-bath 2400 sqft lake house with over 3,500 feet of shoreline on Pelican Lake. Pelican Lake is 3,700 acres and is known for excellent fishing and recreational activities. Catch Walleye, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, Perch, and Crappie or just relax by the fire pit and enjoy the seclusion. Feel free to launch your boat from property or enjoy one of the Kayaks provided.

The house comfortably sleeps 10+ with its 3 bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils and dishware, a full range, and double convection ovens. Standup refrigerator and ice maker as well as stand up freezer and two dishwashers. Feel free to use the propane BBQ grill as well.

We had a delightful stay - the cabin was a great size and super comfortable. There were tons of extra sheets and towels in the closets and bathrooms, and the host was very responsive when we contacted him. We will be staying again

The accommodations inside were nice. Beautiful bedrooms, great kitchen with 3 ovens, refrigerator/ freezer and large deep freezer. Extra touches were coffee grinder and great coffee syrups. But unfortunately the refrigerator/ freezer went out while we were there. (Which you could tell the appliances were new). Also a few hiccups in the house that my husband was able to fix.Contacted the host and they responded very quickly and tried to make things right. Also received a call directly from the host and they had explained that the house was hit from lightening recently and that was a possibility why the frig. went out. They tried to have a new one delivered, but we all know that it takes time to get a new one these days. They had someone deliver a small one the same day and a water machine for ice. We all loved the kayaks that were on sight 2 adults and 2 children’s. There was not a beach area but we made due and still made some great memories. The owner actually stated that they are trying to get a beach area. But it is hard to get the ok to remove cattails. I believe we were one of the first families to stay here. So I believe the hosts are still in a learning curve and tried to make things right.

The pictures posted are a bit misleading. The day before arrival we found out no working refrigerator, a new one was being delivered Thursday. We stayed Sunday-Friday. No refrigerator ever came. We had 2 families of 5. There was a Beverage fridge and a mini fridge. Upon arrival we noticed the long grass, weeds everywhere, dead potted plants lining the front deck. The owner apologized that it had been wet so mowing was challenging, the yard is way overgrown. Walking in the front door you are greeted with a burst of Glade plug ins..They have multiple plug-ins in every room, we started to get headaches and unplugged as many as we could find. The musty/sewage smell became more robust. Luckily we could open the windows. That helped with the smell but the sewage smell was terrible. We couldn’t sit by any of the vents and the bedrooms were so bad. We told the owner and he replied “oh my god…ok” but didn’t send anyone out or do anything about it. It rained the first 2 nights we noticed outside (by the grill) the basement door leaks tons of water and algae/mold. The kids had a toy that went over the railing (inside) the basement stairwell. My son went to grab it and water was up to the first step. The smell is so bad coming from basement. No sheets on any of the beds in the bunk bed room, pictures show bedding. The cabin was not clean, we swept and mopped the first day. Smears on appliances, the couch is ripped/dirty. Table chairs are dirty as well. No electric @dock 2000ft ext.cord.

Nic, my sincere apologies you did not have a good experience. There was a family of 10 in the house prior to your arrival and they informed us that the refrigerator went out on them. I went and purchased a small stand-up fridge and a water dispenser and ice maker for that family as soon as I found out but, gave you the option to cancel because of the inconvenience. The appliances were all less than 5 years old but, we had a lightning strike and that took several out. As you said the new one was supposed to be there Thursday but, Home Depot delivered Friday the day you checked out. Yes, mowing 9 acres is a bit challenging given the amount of rain we have been getting in Minnesota. No family has complained about Glade plug ins giving them a headache but, I am happy to hear you were able to turn them off or disconnect them. Each room does have a freshener to provide an inviting fresh smell. They are easily unplugged or regulated. I am sorry the bedding was not up to your standards in the room with bunkbeds. Those three in one cover's are more expensive than standard sheeting. They are for the summer months to keep you cool. Each bed has an extra set of linens and comforter in the closet for each bed as you know because they were all used. It's certainly an option as some sleep warm and some sleep cold. I wish I would have been notified sooner of the musty/sewage smell. 10:57 am on the day you checked out there was not much I could do other than apologize and ensure it does not happen to the next guest. As soon as you notified me at 10:57 am on the day of checkout we immediately called the next guest and canceled them so we could investigate. But I do appreciate you letting me know so I can ensure it did not happen to the next guest. We had a family of 10 that checked in Saturday the 19th to Saturday the 26th and they did not experience that, so nothing was reported. We had lots of communication prior to 10:57am on Friday the day you checked out and the musty/sewage smell was never mentioned. I am just going to apologize and offer a return trip free of charge for you and your family. You were correct: the sewer was plugged with wipes and feminine products. It was corrected immediately and resolved. I again just want to offer a free week for you and your group.
