Home was very clean and quiet. We stayed here in order to visit the Inner Harbor and Aquarium.
Nice, modern home near Baltimore with all the amenities you will need. Beth, the owner replied quickly whenever I had a question. Overall a great experience.
Beth is a fantastic hostess! She went above and beyond to make our stay special for the Thanksgiving holiday. House is well equipped with everything you need including plenty of games and movies to choose from for the whole family! We enjoyed our stay very much!
House was clean and well equipped
Rooms were clean
Accommodations in the area were very nice and plentiful
Nice walking trails for the family to go walking and exploring.
Grandchildren enjoyed going down to the docks at Mikeâs crab house.
We enjoyed local fireworks from homes around the area without being in a crowded organized fireworks events over the Fourth of July
We enjoyed our stay! Beth was very friendly and quick to respond. We did some cooking at the house and found all we needed and more.
Thoughtfully stocked with just about anything you may need for a nice stay. Quiet neighborhood with a great seafood restaurant nearby. We would stay, again, if ever we find ourselves in that area!
This home is a lovely spot to gather with family. We enjoyed its proximity to Chesapeake Bay locations and events. It was in a quiet lovely neighborhood. The views of the water were relaxing, not to mention the beautiful sunsets from the yard and deck. We had all the space and amenities that our family needed to enjoy this vacation! We will be back!
Overall great stay. Kitchen a little unorganized but we found what we needed. Bathroom showers drained really slow and we did not have washcloths but my Son purchased some before I was able to call our host. Had a great time exploring the Arundel area even though most of it was in Annapolis for commissioning week. We recommend this home for others.
Quiet , peaceful! Close to Baltimore,Annapolis &DC
Our recent stay at Rock Creek Retreat Center was excellent! It was very peaceful and relaxing and felt like a quiet retreat. This house is very well appointed. The furniture is very nice and very comfortable and the home is nicely decorated. It has a well equipped kitchen and many amenities. The owners, Beth and Dan were super nice to deal with and are very accommodating. Besides relaxing in the beautiful house itself, we loved walking a very short distance to the pier surrounded by peaceful and colorful sailboats. This location is also very convenient to enjoy the Chesapeake Bay, the wonderful Baltimore Inner Harbor, Annapolis and Washington DC. I would highly recommend this home!
In a bind, we had to make last minute plans for the holiday season for my whole family. Beth was extremely accommodating and was so great about getting back to me in a timely manner.
The house feels like a home, not just a vacation rental, which I think is a key ingredient when you are searching for a place to stay. We live in Pasadena already (just needed something bigger than our apartment) so it was lovely to show my family around the area.
It seemed like every time we needed something small that I had forgotten to pack (ie scissors or playing cards) it was right around the corner. The deck is also a really nice touch to get outside, which we got to enjoy, even though it was Christmas!
All in all, we had a wonderful stay and were so thrilled our first HomeAway experience was so positive. Will definitely be trying again on our next last-minute adventure.
We had a very nice stay at this home and Beth was a very good and responsive host.
pros: Very clean inside and charming decor that the kids loved. Equipped with lots of toys/games/activities for the kids and kitchen with all the basics you need to cook meals. Nice views of the water from bedrooms. Short walk to Mike's for nice dinner, drinks, music and walks out on the piers. Beth is very responsive to any questions or needs.
cons: Outdoor area was a bit of a mess, but it didn't matter too much because it was basically impossible to spend time outside due to the mosquitoes. Maybe it was just the time of year ( Late August) but even after I sprayed the whole property with Cutter and bug sprayed our bodies it was still very buggy. Biggest issue is that there is no public access to the water, which would have been the only outdoor activity due to the heat and bugs, except at Mike's. It's nice to walk out on the docks there around sunset but no beaches to access water. The closest park with water access is under renovation until next year so we had to drive at least 30 minutes to find a swimming beach. I think this should be clearly stated in the listing for those hoping for water activities. The beds were all layered with memory foam toppers, which may be to some people's liking, but too soft for us to sleep comfortably. We probably should have just removed the toppers, but didn't think of it until we stripped the beds as we were leaving and saw that they were removable.
We stayed at this property for a family wedding nearby at Kurtz Beach. The house was really close to the venue but also a short ride to BWI and downtown Baltimore. The rooms were clean and the host was very attentive. My kids enjoyed the duck theme in the house. Itâs a short walk or drive to Mikes Crab North where you can get delicious steamed crabs and crab cakes. Iâd recommend for a family trip.
The owner is very welcoming and helpful. She went out of her way to make sure my family feel comfortable. I enjoyed meeting Beth and learning a little about the history of the house and the community.
We were looking for something close to our kidsâ home, which has been hard to find in the past. This worked out great for us. We especially appreciated the hard wood floors throughout and no pets or scents policies since we needed an allergen-free home. The kitchen was well equipped for our needs. TV options were great for evenings when we returned, and owners have plenty of DVDs and books on hand. Big fluffy towels and comfortable bedding. We will definitely look to stay here again when we visit our kids.
The only recommendation I would make is to have the owner consider room darkening shades in the bedrooms. There was so much light from overhead streetlights in front and the well-lit boatyard/marina in back, that the rooms were overly bright at night for sleeping. Not a huge problem, but the only inconvenience I can think of.

Lovely beach house with great location
Easy to like this house with its beach vibe and convenient to all that the area has to offer. Convenient to both Annapolis and Baltimoreâ s great restaurants and crab houses. Nicely appointed home with character and friendly neighbors .
My family had a wonderful stay over the holidays. We, too, needed extra space for family visiting and this was perfect! We will definitely use this rental again :)
Comfortable house and neighborhood. This was a great option for us while we visited family over the holidays. It is a nice, quiet neighborhood, and a clean and comfortable home.
Family owned property since 1940's. Third generation to enjoy the property, creek and proximity to Chesapeake Bay. Hurricane Isabelle fell a tree on original 1940 summer shack and new house erected in 2005. Due to allergies there are hardwood floors and no pets ever.
The colors and the lighting are peaceful and restful. It is walking distance to Mike's Crab House North restaurant in season. The trees sway in the wind with the osprey and herons you can watch from the bed in the master bedroom with the the blinds down feature. Full kitchen for family dinners.
Beautiful tall trees with sky filled with osprey. Listen to the live music from Mike's Crab House North while on deck when in season (March to November). Wonderful colors and lighting throughout day and especially sunset. Manufactured home that is very solid, quiet and insulated. Built in 2005 and delivered to site from Pennsylvania.
