I appreciate you bringing the bathroom concerns, loose tiles, and bedroom door to my attention. I will be looking into these items and addressing anything that needs to be repaired or updated. Regarding the toilet, I believe there may have been a misunderstanding. There is a note above the toilet paper holder explaining that nothing other than toilet paper should be flushed. Toilet paper itself was absolutely permitted to be flushed. I’m sorry if the wording of the sign caused any confusion, as guests were not expected to place used toilet paper in a trash can. I also want to clarify the check-in instructions, as the review does not accurately reflect the communication that took place. The check-in instructions were sent through the app when you booked, and you also messaged me on September 20th, four days before your stay, confirming that you had received the updated check-in instructions. I understand that finding older messages in the app can sometimes be inconvenient. The instructions are sent automatically through Vrbo, and in the future, you may also want to check the app’s listing or reservation details as a secondary way to access them. As a friendly reminder, I understand that you mentioned this was your first time renting through this platform. Most rental apps provide several places where guests can find property access information. In this case, you received an email and two messages (the day you booked and four days prior to arrival containing the check-in instructions. I understand that apps can sometimes be tricky to navigate, but I’m not sure what additional steps I could have taken to provide the information. Thank you again for bringing your concerns to my attention. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation and will use the feedback regarding the property and check-in communication to continue improving The Back Porch for future guests.
