We do want to clarify that the unit is regularly maintained, and while the décor and furnishings may not reflect every guest’s personal taste, we do not agree that the property requires a complete remodel of its plumbing, electrical, flooring, appliances, and furnishings. We take maintenance and safety concerns seriously and address reported issues as quickly as possible during a guest’s stay. We were especially concerned to learn that you felt there were safety issues affecting a handicapped member of your party. Guest safety and accessibility concerns are important to us, and our management team makes every effort to respond promptly when an issue is brought to our attention. The Gulf-front location and beautiful beach view are certainly highlights of this property. As with many beachfront condominium communities, units overlooking or located near the pool can experience additional activity and noise. Pool hours and enforcement of community rules are ultimately handled by the condominium association and/or on-site personnel, but we are always happy to report concerns when they are brought to our attention. We regret that this property was not the right fit for your family. We manage many vacation rentals with different locations, layouts, amenities, and levels of updating, and we always encourage guests to contact us during their stay so we have the opportunity to address concerns when possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the water damage discovered in the bunk room shortly before your arrival. We would like to clarify that the condo had been inspected following the hurricane, and there were no visible signs of water intrusion at that time. Unfortunately, moisture had entered the carpet without obvious visible damage, and the issue was not discovered until an odor developed. Following the hurricane, our team worked tirelessly to inspect, clean, and prepare properties for arriving guests, at times working without electricity or running water. Our priority was to safely accommodate guests who were eager to return while navigating the challenges left behind by the storm. We understand your disappointment regarding the timing of our notification. However, we would also like to clarify that a full refund was available had you chosen not to stay due to the unexpected damage. We certainly would not have expected you to accept accommodations that did not meet your needs. We appreciate your comments regarding the furnishings, appliances, and ceiling paint and will share those concerns with the property owner for consideration. While we strive to provide every guest with an exceptional experience, the aftermath of a hurricane can present unexpected challenges, even after inspections have been completed.
