The separate (but attached) Ohana (which means family), or in-law unit, can serve as separate space from the main living area for additional privacy (a plus if more than one family is traveling together). It includes:

You can access the main living on the 2nd floor from the Ohana by passing through the Makai Suite #2 or going out to the front door of the Ohana.

There is a double bed and a twin trundle bed that can be used as one twin, two twins at different heights, or two adjacent twins. A hammock can be hung up for your relaxation as well. The fully-remodeled full bathroom #4 (smaller than the other three) is off the living area.

Mauka Suite #1 has A/C.
As is common in Hawaii, the house is not equipped with A/C (other than Mauka Suite #1) but does have:
☞Several ceiling fans, & plenty of portable fans
☞Window shades & curtains
☞Reverse floor plan w/ sleeping on 1st floor & living on 2nd floor to maximize views & tradewinds to cool down the house
The trade winds help to cool the house when the jalousie/slatted windows & Lanai French doors are left open.

BEACH ESSENTIALS
☞Beach supplies are supplied for your use (towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards, umbrellas, beach chairs, coolers, pool noodles, etc.)
☞Sand & drying station - When you come back from the beach, you can rinse your things in a foot tub and hang them to dry at the drying station in the garage or on the Hot Tub deck.

Last but not least, feel free to pick the fruit from the backyard.

Hale Aloha Kona is equipped with a fully-privatized sound and smoke meter to detect high decibel levels and smoking/vaping. Please be sure to follow house rules by observing quiet hours (NO parties!) and NO smoking/vaping on the property.

For security, the house is also equipped with 3 outdoor-only security cameras at the porch, Ohana entry, and side yard.

Please:
- Treat our home with respect as though it were your own

- This is a neighborhood with full-time residents. Please respect the neighbors and observe quiet hours from 9p-8a. During quiet hours, the noise shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.

- Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area.

- Hale Aloha Kona cannot be used for commercial purposes.

- No parties - We have fully-privatized noise and smoking/vaping monitors installed on the property (with no sound recording) and outside-only security cameras at the front porch and side yard.

- Children are welcome. Guests are fully responsible for the safety and security of their children at all times, as well as any disturbance caused to other residents in the neighborhood. No children are allowed on the rooftop deck at any time without an adult, and no children in the hot tub.

- Any guests beyond the maximum (10) will be charged $25/additional guest per night.

- No smoking on property (inside or out) - If smoking is detected, then an additional $500 cleaning fee will be charged.

- Cesspool system - Please only flush toilet paper & natural waste (place all else in trash), and limit putting food down the kitchen disposal (place in trash).

- Please REMOVE SHOES & SAND before you enter. A sand removal station is in the garage.

- Only eat or drink in the kitchen/dining areas and outside.

- Please take care of the furnishings. Do not rearrange the furniture. Do NOT use roller beds or any bedding outside.

- Always report any accidental damages or breakages in a timely manner, especially before check-out. We will look into the issue to determine if and how much your deduction or repair cost will be.

- Cooling - Please turn off all fans, lights, and A/C unit (in Bamboo Bedroom #1) when you go out, and only use the A/C unit when you are in the room.

We loved this property! Plenty of room for everyone. House is well stocked with all the essentials. The beach towels and supplies were great. Wendy was always available for questions. Plenty of fans which were necessary. My son LOVED sleeping in the lanai bedroom.

We loved the upper deck. We watched the beautiful sunsets. The home is in a great location, close to everything. It was stocked with all the necessities. Great location, near excellent beaches and snorkeling areas, as well as wharfs for sportfishing, scuba and other activities. Very convenient for shopping (near to Costco, Walmart, Safeway, etc.). Host is extremely helpful and responsive. House has lots of space for family games and activities (we had 10, including young children) and the provided beach toys, chairs and snorkeling gear made beach time much easier. Would definitely stay again.

My family was there to spread my husbands ashes, and this house made it possible for us all to stay in one place! The Kona Low storms had caused some issues with the internet, but the homeowner was quick to get the issue resolved for us. The only thing that was awkward was I was in the Ohana Bedroom, and my son and daughter in law were in the Makai bedroom, and for me to go upstairs in the morning, I had to pass through their room. I could go out and back in the front door without that, but that was awkward, also. The big added bonus was that there were turkeys that roam up and down the street and we thouroughly enjoyd watching them! It was all in all an excellent time had by all in the home!

lots of room the whole family!

The house is beautiful and spacious! The main floor with a gorgeous kitchen and dining room and living room is open and makes a great place for everyone to come together ! When anyone needs a break there are plenty of bedrooms, a rooftop deck ands a hot tub to which to escape for a bit. The home came well supplied with kitchen supplies, beach items, towels, shampoo, soap etc. The location is super convenient although you will need a car to get around. Communication with host was excellent. Stop searching for your next VRBO,and book here !

We recently purchased our home and are happy to be continuing to offer it as a legal STVR (short-term vacation rental) opportunity for others to escape to the Big Island - just as we love to do.

This Kailua-Kona neighborhood called to us as we explored vacation homes on the Island of Hawaii because of the spacious, open great room with vaulted ceilings, the gorgeous view from the rooftop deck, and the close proximity to downtown Kona with quick highway access.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Our Hale Aloha Kona is less than 5 minutes from downtown Kona, near the Queen Ka’ahumanu (Queen K) highway with access to all the island has to offer. With 4 beds/4 baths, a spacious, fully stocked and equipped kitchen, two great rooms with vaulted ceilings, and three decks, a large group of 10 guests can comfortably stay.

The reverse floor plan with living on the 2nd floor maximizes views and tradewinds to keep the home cool. Enjoy sunsets, watch holiday fireworks, or BBQ on the rooftop deck with beautiful 360° views of the ocean and mountains. Or, relax in the hot tub or do yoga to find your zen on one of our other decks.
