Peaceful and centrally-located, this flat is the perfect place to relax with the whole family or explore the city with friends. This is a spacious 3-bd/1.5ba condo tucked on a quiet, tree-lined street. Includes one (1) free parking space, plus plenty of unmetered parking on st. Minutes away notable hospitals, both Northwestern, and Loyola Universities. Travel via CTA bus stop at the corner. Only 30min drive from downtown Chicago.
We had a great time staying here it was minutes from northwestern for the football game a 20 minute Uber ride to the city for shopping and navy pier. Craig the host was also responsive in answering questions, definitely recommend for a family and or friends vacation
The check in/check out process was easy and the host was very communicative. Gave a poor rating because:1. The (lack of) cleanliness- when checking in the rugs in the kitchen were wet due to being recently shampooed, the bathroom floor was wet/dirty by the shower, there was leftover food in the fridge. There were ants in the dining room and in the kitchen. 2. No washer and dryer in unit despite it being included on the listing online. 3. There was a barking dog in the unit next door. Host texted me that there were noise complaints about a dog and charged our party a pet fee despite us not having a pet on our unit. He later said to disregard the charge but I was disappointed that I was charged without it being confirmed our unit had a pet. I would not stay here again. Again, host was very responsive but the unit did not seem as described.
Great place! With an ambience of stepping into a vacation home. The decor was on point with small touches that really catch the eye. The home smelled of fresh scents and plenty of seating. The Video Projector gives a great touch to family time. The door that separates the kitchen from the home makes it nice for meal preparation and privacy. The beds were the most complemented by our party allowing for a restful night sleep.
The pictures were beautiful, and the reality was something quite different. This is a quiet neighborhood with good on-street parking. I was very excited when we pulled up. Until I shut the car door and took my first steps in the direction of the unitâŠFrom the broken sidewalk to the peeling paint to the hanging baskets of dirt from last yearâs annuals to the drapes hanging ominously closed (and in a state of disrepair), my stomach sank.Opened the first door to walk a few steps up to the unit and the stale smell was foreshadowing. Opened the door to the unit, and those beautiful color pics online went practically grayscale. It just FELT dirty. Stale, musty smell. A random projector with wires strewn everywhere (for a projector television?). I moved the projector to reveal crumbs all over the coffee table. The drapes wouldnât open because they were broken and wedged between the window and the sofa.I got sick to my stomach when I thought about the fact that Iâd paid a premium to bring my wife and kids and MIL here over a hotel. The ants in the kitchen and the insane transfer of noise from the residents above found me absolutely stewing for the first 48 hours.Missing tile grout in the kitchen, mismatched paint in the bathroom, a massive built-in microwave sitting atop a buffet that prevented the fridge door from opening completely alongside a dishwasher that still had 3/4 of its blue, protective plastic covering the stainless steel front.Iâm out of charactersâŠ
The place was excellent. Love the decor. It could be cleaned a bit before me and my guest arrived but it wasnât too bad. Craig is very communicative and thorough with all of our needs.
Craig was very responsive to any questions we had. Duplex is located in a great neighborhood. Easy street parking. We had everything we needed for a atay. eeverything
Perfect for our nu reunion weekend. As described in the listing (tho we never saw the washer - but we also didnât ask about it bc we didnât need to use it). We had a rental car, and I would recommend that for this area as it would be a bit of a walk (or lots of cab rides) to get to downtown Evanston or train stops.
