Drift Away est une location de vacances qui se trouve au bord du rivage et offre une vue emblématique sur l'océan. Juste devant votre porte se trouvent des eaux turquoises peu profondes, idéales pour la baignade, le paddleboard, le kayak ou l'exploration, et à seulement 1,6 km se trouve la plage de sable blanc immaculée qui s'étend sur toute la rive nord de Spanish Wells.
Drift Away dispose de 2 chambres / salles de bains privatives, toutes deux avec une vue imprenable sur la mer. La chambre d'hôtes à l'étage s'ouvre également sur sa propre terrasse privée. Le chalet dispose d'un salon et d'une cuisine ouverts avec de beaux hauts plafonds et s'ouvre sur un porche couvert, idéal pour déguster des cocktails en soirée ou une tasse de café relaxante le matin. Le salon a un canapé-lit queen qui peut également accueillir 2 personnes.
Drift Away a une grande cour bien entretenue avec beaucoup d'espace pour les enfants pour courir et jouer et aussi un gazebo qui se trouve juste au-dessus de l'eau; idéal pour se détendre tout en gardant un œil sur les enfants ou pour un barbecue en famille. Sont également inclus 2 kayaks pour explorer le littoral ou les environs, et une douche extérieure!

Well appointed, Beautiful View

Drift away is a perfect sized home for 2 couples or a small family. The house has everything you need and has fun, clean artsy feel to it. Covered back porch and a covered area at the water. Also a tucked in area perfect for reading or napping. Unobstructed view of the water and a great area to kayak or float down a couple steps to the ocean. This is our 2nd year in a row; I expect we’ll be back in ‘26. Laid back, quiet, perfect!

A dream!

If you’ve found this spot, you should book it with no hesitation. You will have private waterfront access, on a property and in a home that is meticulously maintained and contains all the amenities you could need. There is a list provided of many of the food, groceries, water jug refills, activities, etc on the island - with contact info, hours, etc - as well as menus for many of the popular spots to eat. On top of this, lots of info about the house itself is written and provided. Amongst all of this are business cards for local charters and activities as well. It was nice to have a full-sized washer and dryer for clothes. It was also nice to have air conditioning for sleeping - but it wasn’t necessary during the day, as we simply opened all of the windows to cool down the big, airy living space. The kitchen is fully stocked with cookware, bakeware, and appliances, plus some spices, oils, and condiments. Beach and water gear is provided (rafts and chairs), though we only found a single beach chair.Kayaks are provided as well, and there is a helpful kayak ramp along the rocks to help you get the kayaks down from the house to the water without damaging the boats. There are child and adult life vests as well. There are some books, a pair of binoculars, and smart TVs (which we used to stream some music while we ate some dinners at the house). The wifi works well.A dream of a stay.

hammock on the beach

we loved our stay on Spanish Wells / Russell Island and the ease that comes with driving around on a golf cart was so fun for the kids. The best part about the house is the multiple spaces on the water - hammock / sun deck / covered porch and enjoying the ocean right out your steps. Highly recommend

Dreaming of Drift Away

As you pull into the property- you are greeted by a beautifully painted driftwood sign with Driftaway - that takes your eyes down the impeccably landscaped property - and landing on the magnificent bougainvillea that surround the front entrance of the cottage. Your eyes travel immediately from the front entrance- through the windows of the back of the house -permeated with the many shades of emerald and turquoise of the ocean. The pictures online do not do this property justice- as if possible- is more beautiful than we could have imagined. Every detail thought of, everything looks brand new. From the beautifully appointed furnishings, to the pristine and healing colors of paint on the walls. The kitchen - held every utensil and fully stocked with all the essentials needed. The outside area- could not be more surreal, comfortable, and picturesque. Lounge chairs situated in the perfect spot- surrounded by tropical shrubs, allowing for a feeling of privacy and complete tranquility. Beach towels galore- Not to mention- Kayaks and an incredibly crafted kayak ramp to make even that effortless. A hammock for an afternoon nap, or to star gaze at night. The owners- a dream team of craft and design to make this a dream come true. Thank you for sharing this dream house with us all.

Relax on the water

From doing yoga each morning in the gazebo over the water, snorkeling just off the property, and spending the mornings and evenings chatting with our friends on the porch, this stay could not be any better! Sarah met us at the dock, helped haul our luggage and Becky was very responsive to my messages. We loved our stay and hope we can come back soon!

Unbelievable Stay at Driftaway

Where do I even begin. Driftaway was the perfect name and Driftaway we did. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. The house is beautiful, spacious, and impeccably clean, with stunning views of the ocean right out the back door. Becky was amazing, such easy communication and was kind enough to even set up our taxis and golf cart for us upon arrival. The scenic view exceeded our expectations. Waking up to the tropical blue water and sipping coffee on the dock each morning felt like a dream.The beach is literally steps away—soft white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water. We even took a walk across the sandbar to the other side of the island. We spent our days swimming, kayaking, and relaxing in the sun. Even found a group of starfish off the dock and spent some time with them out in the water! The location was perfect and everyone we met was incredibly warm and welcoming. We can’t recommend Driftaway enough. It was the perfect escape, and we’re already dreaming of coming back! Thank you Becky!!

Exceeded High Expectations

Drift Away is an incredible property! It has beautiful views, great bedrooms and great outdoor areas. We used the kayaks and floats and spent lots of time in the outdoor areas, including the fantastic waterfront sitting areas. The house itself has everything one would need. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!

SO Relaxing

We loved our stay at Drift Away! We stayed a week on Eleuthera and a week on Spanish Wells. Spanish Wells is definitely more relaxing. The house was awesome! We used the kayaks and we laid on the rafts. We saw turtles and little fish and stingrays. The air conditioning works great. The store has everything you will need. We went to lots of restaurants and they were all delicious. One thing I love about Spanish Wells is people are selling different things someone’s selling cinnamon rolls someone’s selling bread, different meals different nights on different corners. I love that kind of stuff. The people are so so nice and driving the golf cart around was so easy compared to driving on Eleuthera. I would definitely stay here again. Communication was great! If you want a beautiful place to relax stay here.

Wonderful Stay With the Best View

This waterfront cottage is absolutely perfect. It has everything you need, fantastic decorations, hammock is perfect for relaxing in front of the water, gazebo is great for morning coffee. We enjoyed the kayaks as well. Becky was super helpful and very accommodating with anything we needed or asked. The location is wonderful, very quiet and peaceful.

Million Dollar View

We have stayed in Spanish Wells/Russell Island several times, this house and the view is in the top tier of houses we have stayed at. The view is well worth being a short golf cart from Spanish Wells and the main parts of town. I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing!

This was our second stay here and loved it again! The house is amazing, but the property is even better! Daily visits by sea turtles and Sting Rays! Great view of fireworks from the park! What more could you ask for! If there was a 6 star this place would get it!

Another amazing stay!

We’ve been mutiple times to stay at Drift Away and this time brought our children. The house has everything you need and more. We love the fruit trees outside, every morning sitting on the porch over looking the water and watching the fish and stingrays swim by. The view is breath taking. We used the kayaks mutiple times a day. There is snorkel gear and games to play. The beds are so comfy and the towels are fluffy and they give you more than enough bath and beach towels. The house and location are our favorite and our happy place.

Drift Away….from reality!

Drift Away indeed! Loved our stay and the Russell Island and SpanishWells area. Sarah met us at the ferry, and took charge! Took us to the house and gave us a tour. Beautiful setting, breathtaking views. Excellent experience!

Wonderful!

My spouse and I stayed at this wonderful home for 14 days. It was our first time on Russell Island. The home was just as pictured. So cute with great views of the ocean from the living room and bedrooms. The air conditioning worked wonderfully. The kitchen had all the amenities along with a full lineup of appliances like a great blender, coffee makers, toaster. Plenty of casserole dishes, pots and pans. Bed was comfy. Best part for me was the great little sitting area right on the water and the back porch. I also used the kayaks every day. I got good at spotting turtles, rays and starfish from the kayak and from the waterfront sitting area. The water is clear, calm and shallow, making it shallow enough for littles if you bring them. We loved watching “Craig the spider crab” crawl on the rocks on a daily basis. The hammock is a great place for a nap in the afternoon as it is shaded by 2:30. The only issue we experienced was the next store property had a sailing school for three days during our last week. It was a group of about 15 pre-teens (mostly boys) who were very energetic and loud from 10-3 on those days. This is in no way the fault of Rebecca, but it did impede on our privacy and quiet solitude. I really hope I am able to come back and enjoy the beauty of Russell Island and would stay at this property again in a heartbeat.

Perfect Family Getaway

I booked this place based on the reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. Took my family including 2 kids under 8 to Spanish Wells for the first time and we all had a perfect week. The weather cooperated just enough with the storm that went through Florida and because this house is on the north side of the island we remained sheltered from any wind. The house was perfect for a family with multiple interests; My wife was able to get her quiet time for reading, I was able to get out snorkel and ride the golf cart around and the kids swam for hours every day. We did cook at home for most meals and the house was stocked well enough to accommodate that. My only suggestion would be to provide something to allow the guest to enjoy some of the plentiful coconuts everywhere around the island. The kids saw numerous small fish, conchs and starfish right in the water from the back of the house. Communication with Becky was top notch as it can be a little overwhelming traveling with small kids and the transition from plane to boat to golf cart to house was seemless. We rented a charter one day with Capt. Smiley and SpanishWells SeaVentures, his boat was really nice and we had a great half day seeing turtles, stingrays and snorkeling; if you get the chance call him. All in all we would absolutely book again.

Amazing

We recently visited Spanish Wells for the first time and we stayed at Drift Away. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place for our family! It felt as though we were on our own private island because it was so quiet and relaxing. We had our own private dock where we spent our days floating around in the ocean, snorkeling and kayaking. Even our teenagers had a blast, which says something!! The views were breathtaking and the ocean was so calm and peaceful. The owners were extremely helpful and arranged for our transportation from the airport to the house and assisted us in our golf cart rental. Overall it was a perfect get away and we really hope to come back again one day soon!

Better than expected

Sometimes you build up trips in your mind and they aren’t always what you hoped for. Not the case with Drift Away cottage. First the hosts were great. We had to make a lot of changes and move dates and they accommodated us. They set up our transportation from plane to house and helped us get settled in. The house and location was more than I could have imagined. Breath taking views. You really don’t have to leave the house but we wanted to go beach and we had it all to our selves for hours. Some of the most beautiful white sand tropical beaches. Just like a post card. The island was very nice. The people there are so friendly. I’m already planning on coming back. Food and service was great as highly recommend.
