À propos de cet hébergement
Enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Lolo! No cleaning fee!
Just a short jaunt south (10 miles) from Missoula, Montana is our little slice of the Bitterroot Valley. Enjoy peaceful mountain and valley views from our Eastern facing abode. We get to experience beautiful sunrises and sunsets here on the hillside.
Our home is clean, comfortable, and cozy. The rental space is the entire upper levels of a split-level home. In the basement is a quiet tenant who has a separate, private entrance. This tenant also has the only access to the garage. You will come up the stairs at the front of the house and upon entry will be greeted by the slate surrounding gas fireplace and views of the cottonwood lined back yard with a treed mountain behind. Deer and occasionally elk can often be spotted on those hills. There are sometimes turkeys and foxes that appear outside the backyard fence.
The open floor plan means that guests can comfortably cook in the well-equipped kitchen while still visiting with others in the living or dining rooms. These rooms are bright and bathed in the afternoon sunlight. The back patio, directly off the dining room offers a built in firepit with Adirondack seating. Wood will be provided for one good fire. There is a propane grill provided and outdoor dining so you can enjoy the sound of the breeze through the cottonwoods. Morning coffee on this patio often brings the hummingbirds to their feeders for a serene start to your day. A glass of wine in the evening as the sun filters through the trees is one of our favorite things about this home. Regular yard maintenance is required, and we will work with you if it is needed when you are visiting. We will not need access to the inside of the house during your stay. We have provided board games, and puzzles to fill any down time you may have at the house.
The primary bedroom boasts an en-suite bathroom, with a soaking tub and separate shower. Enjoy a glass of wine in the tub and catch up with your favorite tv show. This bedroom also has a private deck where you can soak up some sun and listen to the trees and birds.
Guest room one has two comfy twin beds and a valley view. Guest room two has a comfy queen size bed and a treed mountain view. Both rooms have convenient access to the bright, and tidy guest bathroom.
Other conveniences include a laundry room, with washer and dryer, and a walk-in pantry. The house is also equipped with central A/C though with the breezes we get, the house doesn’t often need it. There are ceiling fans in each bedroom, as well as the living room.
The chef in your crowd will love cooking on the freestanding, stainless steel, 6 burner Zline stove/oven. Other cooking amenities include a InstaPot, Air Fryer,, microwave, blender, and a well-equipped coffee/tea center. We have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew singe cup coffee maker, a French press, a cast iron tea pot with strainer for loose teas, and a Le Creuset kettle for the stove. We will get you started with a generous sampling of a local coffee roaster, and local teas.
A few of our favorite places to take out of town guests include a short 40-minute drive south on 93 to Hamilton for burgers on main street at Naps. If you’re a Yellowstone fan, you may recognize downtown Hamilton as several episodes have been filmed there. If you’re willing to go a bit further to Darby, they have a world-class candy shop. Near Darby is also beautiful Lake Como with wonderful hiking, kayaking, and swimming. If you’d rather stay a little closer, the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge is just 20 minutes south in Stevensville. It boasts a lovely path with many birds and other Montana Wildlife. The view of the Bitterroot mountains from here are truly awe inspiring.
If you’re looking for dining options, Lolo Creek Steakhouse and Distillery are close by, and this is a don’t miss. The steakhouse was featured on The Food Network a few years ago. It’s a local favorite. Start with drinks at the Distillery, where the view of Lolo Peak is unbeatable. Read up on the history of Lolo, and Travelers Rest. In fact, while you’re in town, be sure to take a walk at the Traveler’s Rest Park. This historic site, just down the street from our home, has an interpretive center as well as a lovely walking path along Lolo Creek. Lolo is also home to the Lolo Peak Brewery which is a local favorite for quality cuisine and local beers.
The short scenic drive into Missoula gets you to the city life where you can enjoy college sports, local baseball, shopping, and more fine dining. If hiking is your thing, you won’t want to miss the popular “M” trail just above the University of Montana. It’s a steep climb but the views are unmatched.
We are confident that you will fall in love with The Last Best Place!
