The perfect rustic home base for exploring the local outdoors. We are located approximately 20 minutes from Stone Mountain State Park, with miles of trail to explore and excellent fishing along the East Prong Roaring River and its tributaries. We are also about 20 minutes from Doughton Recreation Area and Thurmond Chatham Wildlife Management Area with some more lengthy hiking trails and also equipped with some streams that offer excellent fishing opportunities! The house sits in a quiet and private location surrounded by mountains and nature!
We were informed it was ladybug/ stinkbug season, we found none of those bugs but there were a few large cockroaches. The roll of toilet paper left in the bathroom for us to use had some sort of dirt or bug residue in between the layers of paper. I have photos of both. The strong smell of pine sol was used to cover up a water damage smell. We were so unhappy we packed our things, cleaned what we used and left saturday morning to visit our friends and never returned to the property.
All as advertised. We were looking for a quit, cozy get away in a wooded location, and âThe Hideawayâ did not disappoint. Located deep in a gated community, the hideaway is small and rustic but has all the basics covered, with natural attractions not far off. Itâs an ideal place to decompress in the woods.
This was a great place to stay! Just perfect for the two of us. We wanted somewhere peaceful and quiet, and that is exactly what it was, just us and the animals. Will definitely go back!
Loved this property. Note though it is small so no big crowds. I stayed with a buddy and my dog and we had a blast. Very secluded. If you are looking for that youve found it. Easy access to many access points on the New River (we kayaked and fished. I would stay there again. Thanks, Kai. It was a great relaxing weekend.
All and all the stay was good. The air conditioner is a problem. It throughs a very musty smell which makes it in usable. Salt and pepper would have been handy. Thanks
