Positives: quiet little town, nice relaxing front porch, 5 min drive to Dreams Park baseball, plenty of towels and coffee supplies, owner was very responsive Negatives: up a steep set of stairs (we didnât mind), laundry is outside around back and coin operated, kitchen is very minimal We would absolutely stay here again
This house is in a great location. Close to Cooperstown Dreams Park and the town of Milford is lovely. The house itself is super old, which is just fine. It has a lot of character. The listing says No Smoking, so you expect a smoke free space. Every time you walk in the door you get a strong smell of old smoke. It is probably in the carpet and walls. I was disappointed with the cleanliness. There was a big brown spot on a bedroom carpet that the host had to come clean. Hair all over the family room rug. We tried to vacuum it ourselves even though the host says the cleaner vauumed. I believe that they try to vacuum, but when we tried the vacuum did not suction at all. The kitchen was very poorly stocked with kitchenware to cook anything. It was a great location, but the house really needs some refreshing and better cleaning. Oh, also we found out on checkin we needed coins for the washer and dryer. Wasn't prepared for that so had to go exhange for coins. It could be a very nice place to stay, if it was cleaner.
This VRBO was an apartment on the upper floor of an older home. The listing did not indicate that we had to climb a flight of steep stairs to reach the apartment. This was less than suitable for us - over 75 with big duffels.
The apartment reminded us of our first apartments after college. Not air conditioned, though each of the 3 bedrooms had window AC units that worked just fine.
