We loved our stay here! We go to Cuchara every year for the 4th. It was our first year staying here and so glad we did. Beautiful cabin, extremely clean, and helpful hosts. Great space for our family with two littles as well. Loved being up higher on the mountain and the view, and the close proximity to town. Hope to be back soon!

Comfortable with great location

Perfect location for exploring the Spanish peaks. This cabin has a great deck for relaxing and stargazing. Beds are comfortable.

Property was quiet and the cabin was cute and cozy! The views are what make this property spectacular! The cabin has everything you will need for your mountain getaway! Fishing is close by with a few options for lakes!

This cabin is a fantastic getaway. It is close to hiking, fishing, and a 1.5 mile walk to central Cuchara, with mini-golf and pickleball/tennis. The deck is absolutely magical with beautiful views of West Spanish peak's changing colors at sunset and sunrise over East Spanish peak. It is quiet, peaceful place to listen to the hummingbirds and watch the golden-mantled ground squirrels play. It backs up on national forest so plenty of room to hike around from the house and for kids to play.The owners are easy to ask questions of and super responsive. The cabin is in great shape and kept very clean. The beds are really comfortable. There are plenty of linens and towels.One caveat is that it is a 1970s vintage pan-abode cabin so set your expectations accordingly. There is one bathroom, would could be tight if you had lots of people in the three bedrooms. No air conditioning but we found it was cool at night and a nice cross-breeze if you open the windows (there are screens). There is also no laundry but easy to use the clean and accessible laundromat in La Veta. We relied on our phones for internet with a strong cell signal.We love this place and look forward to returning!

Beautiful property with comfortable beds and incredible views. Check-in was a breeze and owner worked with us on the check-in time. We loved the lack of WiFi, felt more like an escape (although cell service was strong if we needed anything). No dishwasher, which some might find off-putting, but not a problem for us. We thought it the perfect little cabin for a Colorado summer stay.

A nice, relaxing getaway

This cabin was the perfect getaway for us as we celebrated our 20th anniversary. It was clean and neat. Our host was quick to respond. We would love to return again some day.

We had a very good time at the cabin & really enjoyed the view. Very comfortable beds also. We did not find out that you really need a 4-wheel drive to get up the driveway until the day before we got there because it was raining so hard. Luckily we had a 4-wheel drive vehicle. This really needs to be in the property description. Christine was very prompt responding to any questions which was appreciated.

Fantastic Cabin

A beautiful cabin in the sky. The view is spectacular. The pictures do not do it justice. The beds, linen, and couches are very comfortable. Christina is very responsive and helpful. The property is clean and neat. It feels like you are home.We love this place, but come with the right expectations. It is a cabin. There is no washing machine, dishwasher, or internet (cell phone/hot spot work just fine). The driveway is steep, so a 4-wheel drive is recommended.

Great views!

Great views of the mountains! Perfect for a couple who want to be off the grid. Things I wish I would have known ahead of time: no WiFi on property (which makes tv unusable unless you have cell service up there - we did not), no washer/dryer, no dishwasher, gas fireplace doesn’t work, and minimal indoor lighting. Property was super clean though, beds were comfy, towels were super soft, property was quiet, and the views are unbeatable. If you want to be glamping and totally off grid, this is the place for you :)

Grill and fire pit cover are shot and falling apart. Upgrade toilet paper quality to eliminate waste. House needs a good cl.
