Hi, I believe you may have accidentally left this review for the wrong property. Your stay with us was over the Fourth of July weekend, which was about a month ago, so it’s possible you’re thinking of another place you visited. At The Victorian Inn Bed & Breakfast, breakfast is absolutely included with every stay. We have never charged a separate breakfast or “food fee,” and there is no “bed fee” or host fee. The only additional charge on your reservation was the pet fee for your furry companion, which was clearly disclosed before booking and is our standard fee for guests traveling with pets. We take great pride in being transparent with our pricing and providing a full bed and breakfast experience for every guest. If this review was intended for another property, we would greatly appreciate it if you would consider updating or removing it. Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you found the property welcoming. It was lovely speaking with you during Valentine’s morning breakfast, and we’re happy you enjoyed both breakfast and your stay—until after your departure, when we had to contact you regarding the smoking issue in the room. We do want to clarify the smoking concern. I shared that our cameras recorded activity of you on the front porch smoking only after you stated that neither you nor your boyfriend smoke. Upon your departure, both owners and two staff members inspected the room and found it strongly reeked of smoke. The odor was so strong that it required extensive remediation, including steam cleaning carpets, fabrics, curtains, and running an Ozone machine, along with other treatments, to fully restore the room to a smoke-free condition. During this process, the room was temporarily removed from availability, and incoming guests had to be relocated. We take these matters seriously to protect our 1860s vintage bed and breakfast and future guests. We also appreciate your comments regarding the bed and TV setup and will review them for improvement. We wish that you had reported the bed or TV issues to us during your stay, as we could have addressed them or possibly relocated you to an upgraded room. We value all guest feedback.
