Very clean and tidy place to stay. If you like retro 70âs, it is the place for you. Great outdoorsâŠbig lawn, beautiful pine trees, and a rolling brook surrounds the property.
Gorgeous property and beautiful rustic cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Clean and neat. Plenty of room for our kids to run and play as well. 10/10 would recommend to others and would like to come back again in the future!
A beautiful and quiet property. The home is larger than it looks. It was great to have so the grandkids could stay overnight and all the kitchen items were perfect for making chocolate chip pancakes in the morning!
This was a great cabin for our large family as we moved our son into his dorm nearby. I wish we had more time to enjoy the outdoors because it was beautiful and well maintained. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed available. Our kids enjoyed the toys, board games and basement game room. A nice experience for us.
My husband, stepson and his partner, plus 2 small children were in the area for my stepdaughterâs wedding at the Rustic Wedding Barn, which is about 2 miles away. The children had space to run around, and the adults enjoyed the lovely setting and convenient proximity to the venue. Property is very clean and well appointed. We would stay here again, even if we donât have a wedding nearby!
Beautiful property, host was amazing to deal with, house was cozy and rustic but still up to date with appliances. The TVs didn't work super great but that's not what we were there for so it wasn't much of an issue. Would definitely book again!
We had family stay here for my sonâs graduation weekend and it was a great spot (easy drive to campus). Beautiful setting and the cabin is just charming. Thereâs also enough space for everyone to gather and spend time together. Communication with Ashlee was terrific - she was helpful and very responsive. Would definitely recommend!
This house was pretty cool it was definitely the right atmosphere for what we were doing. I truly appreciate them allowing my dog to come they said they had issues with other dog owners coming to the house so they gave rules not saying the other dog owners didnt follow there rules but there were loose dogs all over the property and we felt like we were being watched neighbors were constantly over and the tv remotes didnât work the smart tv wouldnât turn on with the remote so we couldnât watch tv but otherwise it was a great place to live had fun Woolf love to bring the family
Pros...the house is a nicely decorated rustic cabin. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our mixed age level family. Plenty of space for our large group. Beautiful scenery. Plenty of parking space.
Cons...the water had a sulphuric smell (not uncommon in cabins), but strong. There were quite a few flys in the house for late November. There was a pipe leaking downstairs that was giving off a really bad smell, making the basement uncomfortable for use. We did however just go buy candles to help with it. The oven wasn't cooking properly (we ended up adjusting the temp to accommodate)
Overall a nice location. Host was great at communicating and answering questions.
Cons...the water had a sulphuric smell
This was a great place to meet our adult children from Ohio and Michigan. The extra half bath was a plus with 7 adults and 1 infant. Kitchen was adequately supplied and the refrigerator was immaculately clean. Overall very clean including shower, toilet, and sinks. However it is a rustic cabin so anticipate a few cobwebs. No insects in the home but take bug spray, especially if spending time by the creek. The view is beautiful from the front porch which faces the creek. Enjoy relaxing on the hammock and listening to nature sounds. We drove over to Hillsdale, which has a nice little Farmer's Market on Saturday and then hiked around the Slayton Arboretum It had a variety of flowers blooming and a pretty waterfall. Lunch at Jilly Beans in Hillside was good. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, this is it. And, our children would have spent hours just playing in the creek when they were young! So, good for families with young children, too! I should also mention how accommodating the owners were. They are just starting this VRBO and bent over backwards to bring over air conditioners which they had not yet installed to make sure we were comfortable as the weather was warmer than they had anticipated. Very easy to communicate with.
Had an absolute great time. The property is very beautiful. Cabin is really cozy, however the bed situation needs some work. The bed in the basement is in a room in the basement with nothing in the room beside a bed and old basement smell. All the mattresses in the cabin are in extremely rough shape. Not a good sleeping experience. Lots of rules about where you can and can't go, put a vehicle, if you mess up a bed but don't sleep in it incurs fees, you have to bring your own firewood. Etc. just very structured in the rules. As a guest paying for the entire property, I shouldn't have to worry that it's like being in a china bowl shop as a kid. Front porch has the best view of the property. Sit there in peace and quiet and enjoy sounds of nature and the creek flowing. We saw deer pass through the property as well which was very surreal. Our family would come back and live to utilize the small cabin as well and do a family getaway. Great spot.
Three friends and myself just wanted to get away for a day and we chose this cabin. We wanted the sample some of the local cuisine and a day away from city life. I would recommend bringing some DVDs! The owner of the property is very close by and if you have any issues, they can be taken care of quickly. This would be a great place for kids, especially in the winter time! I would highly recommend this beautiful log cabin to anyone.
Loved the rustic and low-key vibe of the cabin, very quiet and private location, and plenty of sleeping spaces and options that can work for a variety of couples, families, individuals etc.
Back patio grill, wood burning stove inside, ping pong table and mini basket ball hoops games in the basement were icing on the cake. We were grateful for plates, utensils, coffee maker, toaster, pans, etc for cooking in the kitchen, too.
Two younger girls in our group really liked the spaces, used the toys, and were in awe of the taxidermy animals in the living room. It was an overnight trip to remember.
We loved our stay in the cabin! It was a great getaway from the city for us. Our young children ages 3-7 had a blast! We really appreciated the bottled water. For future, maybe have more tissue boxes available and clarify the entertainment systems. We didn't mind there being no WiFi, but wish we had known earlier about the collection of DVDs. We would totally stay here again! Thank you!
We were in the area for a wedding and found this cabin very close to the venue. It was fabulous! To be honest we didnât want to leave the cabin and go to the wedding! We are already trying to plan a return trip! The creek was a huge hit with our younger children! The host was extremely quick to reply to questions and very accommodating.
We were looking for a quiet place to stay at the end of a long road trip and this place for the bill. Lots of fun toys for the kids and not to far from coffee for the adults!
