Récemment rénové en 2017, ce chalet de charme et confortable au coeur du centre-ville de Lewes a un nouveau look! En plus de toutes les merveilleuses caractéristiques, telles que la belle véranda grillagée, nous avons ajouté une salle familiale à côté de la cuisine avec un grand canapé sectionnel et un foyer au gaz. C'est déjà la pièce préférée de toutes nos familles qui nous rendent visite depuis des années! Et cela a apporté une lumière incroyable à la cuisine et à la nouvelle salle de petit-déjeuner. Nous avons également ajouté une salle de bain complète en bas, une buanderie séparée et une nouvelle douche extérieure!

De notre emplacement idéal, vous pouvez profiter de tout ce que Lewes a à offrir. Promenez-vous dans les magasins et restaurants de la ville, ou détendez-vous après une journée à la plage sur le grand porche grillagé à l'arrière. Il n'est qu'à une courte distance en voiture du parc d'État du cap Henlopen et de la plage de Rehoboth.

Splendid, relaxing cottage

What a special place! Our group of 5 ranged from under 2 years old to over 65 and each of us found so much to love about this adorable cottage. Our toddler had a ball walking up and down the path in the garden, picking up leaves, and hearing the crickets. The screen porch was such a peaceful and refreshing space to hang out in late September, and we also made great use of the outdoor shower. Beautifully appointed, comfortable home with tons of charm, and lovely family photos adorning the walls made us feel so at home. Only a stone's throw into town! Would 100% stay again. Thank you so much, Cheryl!

What a beautiful home! Every room was a lovely as shown, with the exception of the back porch. The pictures do NOT do it justice!! We spent every evening out there just enjoying our time together. What a great stay. Yhank you, Cheryl!

lovely historic Lewes Beach house

his house is even prettier and more spacious than indicated in the listing. We were four couples of two age ranges, including parents of three of the principals. The house is well equipped and beautifully kept, with all conveniences we could think of. Short bike ride to the middle of town and to LewesBeach, and only about 4 miles from Cape Henlopen state park, beach pier, etc.

Memorable week together!

Our time together in Lewes, DE was all that we had hoped for! A week surrounded by family in a property designed for comfort and quality time spent together, our Summer 2024 holiday was one we won't soon forget. We made full use of the excellent kitchen, dining spaces, and family room throughout the week. We cooked in each night and enjoyed dinner together on the screened in porch. Although the property had a historic feel, the kitchen and amenities were modern and accomodating! We would like to thank our host Cheryl for an excellent week! Thank you, Jim

A wonderful stay for the whole family

What a beautiful and peaceful home to stay in. The home is perfectly laid out for a stay where even my older mother in law was able to stay without feeling left out. She stayed in the first floor bedroom and had everything she needed- my teen aged grand daughters had all the privacy they needed in the kids room upstairs. We all gathered for card games on the enclosed porch at night and created memories for years to come. Easy walk into town for dinner. Kitchen is fully stocked and very clean. There were many areas for people to hang out in the house. Will definitely stay here again- highly recommended!

Absolutely awesome!

Most cozy, charming and well appointed place I have EVER stayed! So much attention to detail. The kitchen had everything you could want too. The house feels like a hug. Super close to town and the beach. I wanted to stay forever! Will back as soon as we can. Owner was so easy to work with. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS LITTLE GEM!

Great cottage in historic Lewes

We loved this cottage and would definitely stay here again. Nice features: well stocked kitchen, comfy sitting area off the kitchen, nice breakfast nook, great screened porch, outdoor shower and back yard, professionally decorated throughout, and nice feeling of privacy. Great location in historic Lewes with easy walk to shops, restaurants, and walking/biking trail. Cheryl was great to communicate with. Thanks!

Exceeded our expectations! We loved our vacation here

First of all, working with Cheryl was such a pleasure. She was so responsive, flexible, and understanding. Her home is clean, comfortable, inviting, and so full of character. There are so many super comfortable places to hang out. The kitchen is really well equipped unlike so many other vacation rentals. It's an easy walk to town for restaurants and shopping. Walk the other direction for a few minutes and your at Station on Kings, a wonderful cafe and bakery. It's so easy to get anywhere from here. We went to different beaches, Cape Henlopen State Park, Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge, and lots of towns like Rehobeth, Bethany, and Milton. Of all the vacation homes we've ever stayed in, my wife says this is the best one ever! So glad we found it. Highly recommended

Wonderful home and location!

We really enjoyed our time at this property. The location was wonderful... Within walking distance to the bike trail, parks, and downtown. The home was beautifully decorated and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The screened in porch and backyard were wonderful.....loved the hammock too! Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home

Enjoyed staying here: the home is gorgeous / loved the screened in porch and spent most of time there with my pups reading and relaxing. Very peaceful and great walking factor. Close to area attractions and though a short drive to the beach, it was totally doable. Hope to return.

A perfect location

The property is in the older section of Lewis. Lovely neighborhood and an easy walk or bike ride to downtown... and just as easy to pick up the bike trail for longer rides. House was perfect for a group of friends. It was cozy and had a very well equipped kitchen.

Kings Cottage - A Home, Not a House!

Our stay at this beautiful home in the heart of the Historic District was the best in over 20 years of renting in Lewes! Upon entering, we immediately felt like we entered a home, not a house. Kings Cottage has everything you will need or want. It is beautifully decorated, yet comfortable and welcoming. Cheryl, the owner, will quickly answer any questions you might have - I felt that she really wanted us to have a great time — and we did!

King's Cottage

Cheryl has impeccably designed and appointed her Lewes home! The kitchen was beyond stocked with cookware, towels, utensils, tableware etc. Every room was spotless and so comfortable. Highly recommend this lovely property!

Great getaway!

Loved the house. The photos don’t do it justice how nice it’s laid out and very clean and cute on the inside. Back yard is great as well to enjoy outside. The location is a bit further than I would have liked compared to beach but made up for great access to bike trails and privacy.

Perfect!

Our family of four plus a pup had an amazing time at this perfect home. Plenty of room to spread out but also so cozy and charming. Easy walk into town and a short drive to the beach. And Cheryl, the owner, was so welcoming and checked in before and after our stay. Would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful Home in Lovely Lewes, DE

426 Kings Highway is a charming, comfy yet spacious cottage with an incredibly well-equipped kitchen. Our stay here was more than we could have hoped for. The home is set up so well, the rooms lovely to look at and be in, and the screened-in back porch is great (even if it was chilly when we were there, we can imagine it being a great gathering space.) Icing on the cake is the town. We love Lewes, for its great history, small museums, really nice shops and proximity to Cape Henlopen State Park and Rehoboth. We definitely plan on returning to what truly felt like our home away from home. Cheryl really knows how to make her guests feel welcome.

You will feel like you belong there

This trip was just myself and husband. We had never been to Lewes and have so many nice comments about it. I have had Cheryl’s house tagged as one of the homes we would love to stay at. It was everything I envisioned and way more. Her decorating style is right on. She has to be so pleased with the outcome. The best part of the trip was bringing our 11 yr old beagle with us for her first vacation. She can now cross that off her bucket list although the neighborhood squirrels weren’t too happy to see her. The house is furnished with every single thing you can think of (even bathroom sprays). The only thing needed would be a waffle iron but even bringing ours from home didn’t hurt. We have booked for next year and will bring our daughter, son in law, and our three grandchildren. Those grandchildren will be beside themselves to see the most precious little bedroom designed for children. We loved our trip to Lewes. It’s the perfect house in the perfect town

The Gem of Them All

Sigh.... I'm torn to write this review as I feel like I'm giving up a secret that I want to keep to myself forever .... But that just wouldn't be fair to Cheryl ... So as much as it pains me ... I will divulge. In a nutshell, stay here. It's perfect. Cheryl is beyond amazing (even if she does favor Martha's Vineyard) ;), her house is incredible, location is outstanding. Set in the historic district, we took walks into town to savor baked goods for breakfast, took the car out for the 3 minute (if that) ride to the beach and enjoyed calling this our "home away from home" for a few days. It was perfection (did I say that already)?!?! It was great for the kids and adults alike. The screened in porch was a family favorite. The breakfast nook was used daily. The kids hideaway bedroom was the icing on the cake. It was such a delight and decorated to a T. In fact, I need Cheryl to help me decorate my own home after seeing how well she did with hers! :). Our family will most certainly be a repeat year after year at Cheryl's house. We will look. No. Further. I strongly suggest you do the same. Sigh....now that the cats out of the bag ... But in all seriousness, our search for the perfect Lewes house has ended. Thank you Cheryl!!!!

Loved EVERYTHING about this house!

I frequently rent from HA, AirBNB, etc. and have had good experiences and not so good. This one was BY far the BEST! The house and landscaping are gorgeous. The decor is beachy yet very tasteful. The original house is quite old, and has had additions to make the space more open and accomodating. The screened in porch is so nice. Kitchen is in the center of the first floor which means you can prepare meals and still socialize. Beds were comfy. Every appliance worked perfectly. Exactly as advertised (well actually much nicer). The location was fantastic as Lewes is a VERY bike/ped friendly little village. Despite the amount of beach goers, you could travel around on bike or foot and the traffic was slow and cautious. Miles of bike trails and more being built. Thanks Cheryl for a memoriable weekend!

We had been vacationing in Lewes for years before we finally found our 'cozy cottage by the sea' over 15 years ago. We have grown to love Lewes, and have enjoyed bringing friends and showing them the charm of Second Street, Henlopen State Park, a nd the fabulous shopping and restaurants the area has to offer. Lewes has so many great restaurants, and the kids love to be able to walk to town, eat pizza at Half Full, and end a wonderful day at the beach with King's Ice Cream.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

The wonderful screened in back porch sold us immediately! We spend hours out there hanging out, drinking coffee, reading, and playing games. The private back yard with the beautiful flowers and trees is so relaxing. We have families who have been coming back year after year, and they feel as at home there as we do.

The kids love the upstairs bedroom with the built in beds! They hide out there, and play for hours. We love the serenity of the house, and the ability to really relax and enjoy our time there with family and friends. We have created many memories here over the years, and hope you will too.

Being in town has been wonderful - we can all walk to shopping, restaurants, and the pond a few blocks away. Lewes is a hidden gem, and close to Rehoboth, outlet shopping, and many other amenities, if you are looking for some more fun things to do while you're here.
