Great location. Easy walk to beach and pool with 4 and 6 year olds, a wagon of chairs, etc.Son and family stayed on master bed level and the grandparents stayed in first level bedroom. We wished for a full bath, but half bath and outside shower helped. Proximity to Henlopen state park was wonderful and 10 a car was fine for all the amenities and the breaking waves.
We love Port Lewes - short walk to the bay beach, and an easy bike ride into Cape Henlopen, plus access to the pool and tennis court. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed.
Our extended family loved staying in this place. Condo is in a great location, with the beach and pool within a few minutes walk. The recently renovated kitchen was a beautiful spot to cook and share meals. Plenty of space for all! Would stay again!
Wonderfully located, very well furnished townhouse with lots of amenities. Couldn't have asked for more. Loved the proximity to both Lewes and Rehoboth, bike trails and beaches.
My family and I stayed here for a week and had a total blast. Everything is fairly close driving distance. The bay beach is walking distance! We loved it
Escaped the madness of nearby rehobeth with this quiet getaway. Super chill, simple spot with everything needed for a family beach getaway. Beach pool beach pool beach pool. Awesome.
This community of Port Lewes is an excellent location to Cape Henlopen State Park and is right beside the Cape May Ferry. This community has a fishing pier, swimming pool and beach area. We loved the fact that we didnât need to go to a realtor office, wait in line to get our keys to our unit. There is a lock box right beside the outdoor shower for the key. We would definitely stay here again!
Our family has a townhouse in Port Lewes and we have outgrown it. We rented this unit for my sonâs family so we would have extra bedrooms. The convenience and location can not be beat for our purposes. The unit is dated and needs a refresh. Perhaps have the carpet deep cleaned and remove personal photos. Having said that, we will be renting again.
This is our second year staying in this condo and we love it! The location is stellar, with the Lewes Bay beach just steps away and Cape Henlopen less than a mile as well. The condo pool is close by and well maintained. The open kitchen and recently upgraded bathrooms make the place even more inviting and comfortable. We will be back!
I booked a tad late for our end of summer week but still found this 3 bedroom condo with great views of the Delaware Bay, 2 large decks, an outdoor shower, lots of space, and an amazing location!
Our family of 4 had more space than we needed but it was nice to have it.
Steps to the sand of the Delaware Bay beach- perfect for super young kids. My kids wanted more waves and action so we did head to Rehoboth twice and also once to the beach at the adjacent Henlopen State Park. (Both on the Atlantic Ocean side). I highly recommend the state park! Gorgeous and a quick bike ride away.
The Lewes-Cape May ferry is literally next door to the property so one day we biked over there and took the ferry (book in advance tho!).
Bike trails all around and a quick bike ride into downtown Lewes. The property was super quiet and the pool is a saltwater pool which I love!!!!! Parking was easy as well.
Books and games in the unit as well.
The condo itself is a bit âtiredâ. But it wouldnât take much to make this a 5 star review for me:
1. The pillows and comforters /blankets need to be replaced. They are super old and discolored. Kinda gross! We used a linen service for linens and towels but the pillows themselves need to be thrown out.
2. Clutter on kitchen counters and other areas. Maybe remove some of that or put it all into a cute basket labeled âodds and ends for your stayâ.
3. Couch needs a slipcover or be replaced. Itâs just worn and looks dirty.
4. Have working bikes and beach chairs for guests!!!! All the other units had them but the bikes at this rental are super rusty and some donât work. We ended up renting 2 bikes for our kids. The beach cruiser I used has seen better days! And chairs should always be included in a beachside rental . We lugged our own from home and they took up valuable space in our car.
5. No dishwasher detergent (a pod or 2 to start is usually expected)
6. No paper towel roll (would be nice to have one on hand for the first day).
7. A few ants in the kitchen that seemed to be getting worse as the week went on. We cleaned up after each meal but they were on the kitchen counter.
8. Make sure the window is open in the master bedroom for the small AC unit. We did not realize that the window was closed and hot air was blowing into the room .
All in all, a lovely place to spend a week in the summer! We made some fun memories there.
We had a great experience- the location and amenities are great and itâs convenient to Lewes Beaches and Henlopen Park. Owner is super responsive and helpful! Very cozy and comfortable for our family with kids!
We had a lovely week here. The house had the right amount of space for our group of 6-7, and it was the perfect set up for kids. Both the beach and the pool are easily accessible from the house, and were not super crowded. It was also easy to get to the town of Lewes and to Rehoboth to enjoy the boardwalk. We look forward to coming again!
This is a great base for exploring Lewes while avoiding the crowds â this unit isnât right on the beach but itâs a short walk to a quiet stretch of bay beach. A short drive or bike ride into town. And best of all itâs right on the bike trails â to Cape Henlopen park or all the way to Rehobeth Beach. The rental includes several bikes â rusty but they work fine. Very convenient!
This was a perfect location to unwind and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. This community has it's own fishing dock where you can see the Cape May Ferry coming in. Loved the deck with a bay view. You can step out the front and past the swimming pool and find a path to the beach. If you keep walking the bay turns to the ocean where Cape Henlopen State Park is located. My son and I were excited to see seals in the ocean!! Loved the floor plan where kids can be on one floor and you can be on another. I will come back someday.
This property is very conveniently located to the beach (short walk) and bike trails, cape Henlopen state park. âDowntownâ is a short drive. Plenty of space to spread out inside, too.
This was a welcoming, comfortable place for our family's off-season visit to Lewes. The location is amazing--even in off-season and I can only imagine the fun we'd have being so close to the bay and the state park in the summer. Great central living space for the family to gather.
