A true Alaskan home, short drive from town, relaxing and cozy in the forest.
This property is great if you don't want to stay in a stuffy hotel surrounded by a throng of tourists in downtown Seward! The "Good Year Cabin" is a home that has been added to over the course of a decade, every time there was a good year we added on or updated the house! Recently finished and ready for guests, this is the ideal Alaskan cabin-house. In a quiet neighborhood with stunning mountain and river views, this house is relaxing and tranquil. A perfect spot for a quick few-day getaway to go fishing, hiking, or on a wildlife tour in Seward. Use the kitchen and make a delicious meal or cook outside over the campfire for the real Alaskan experience then return inside for a quiet night's sleep. (6 people maximum)
Enjoyed our stay! Great space for our family of 5 just 10 minutes outside of Seward - quiet and peaceful. Owners were great- had a water issue and Christin and Nick took care of it right away. Loved the hammock and swing outside too!
The house is very nice and well equipped with everything you need to enjoy a meal or just lounge around. The house is very spacious and very comfortable. The owners were very accommodating and responded quickly to any questions. We enjoyed all the amenities and the peaceful setting. I highly recommend and will book again for our next trip to Seward!
The location is great - just outside the hustle and bustle of town in a quiet setting. The interior is cozy, very clean, and the beds were comfortable! We would definitely stay there again!
My family loved this property. The log-cabin charm was cozy. My kids loved walking to the creek behind the property and they especially loved the swing in front of the home. We were lucky to see a couple of Bald Eagles land on top of the trees on the property. Inside of the home was inviting. The multiple fireplaces added to the charm and provided so much warmth. The drive to Seward was very short. We loved our stay and hope to return soon.
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was spacious enough for all 4 of us: my husband and I, and my sister and 19 year old son. Plenty of room to cook and eat in the kitchen with comfortable couch seating in the den. The one bathroom had a long countertop so we could each leave our toiletries in there. It is close to exit glacier (7 min) and close to Seward (12 min). On the way in to Seward there is a Safeway grocery store on the right- this was very convenient as it gets expensive eating every meal out. We stayed a total of 3 nights and it was perfect for us. We had excellent weather and enjoyed the outdoor seating.
This Alaskan family home was comfortable and cozy. It was well equipped and had everything we needed. It is a unique home that added a great memory to our Alaska experience and just what we needed for our stay in Seward.
Nice, clean, roomy, secluded property. Nice welcome note and snacks. Was able to connect to WiFi the first night. The second night two of four of us were kicked off WiFi and couldnât connect. Said the network was unavailable although two were connected.
Recommend decaf coffee and pot holders. And recycle bin.
