Ground floor entire apartment has 2 bedrooms and ample parking. The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed, closet and a desk/office space; there is not a bedroom window in this room. The main room has a queen-sized bed and handmade headboard. The place is cozy and has all the necessary amenities for a visit. It is 10 minutes from Downtown Knoxville, which has University of Tennessee, Market Square. The convention center is also 10 minutes away. There is a nice bike/running trail 5 minutes away and I'm told there are a couple disk golf courses nearby. Although the space is pretty basic, my wife and I added a lot of personal touches: hand-painted walls, homemade headboard, updated fixtures and lamps. The air-conditioners are wall and window units. The heaters are floor and wall units. There is plenty of on-site, free parking available: including the ability to park next to your unit's front door. There is also space to park a trailer.
Only one of 2 bedrooms has a window AC unit the other has no AC at all and no window. I'm sure it's a safe area but for women traveling alone, I don't recommend. If you just need a place to sleep and shower then this is fine.
Was very underwhelmed, pictures on the listing were perfect but that was far from what the stay started off as. When checked in and first viewing the listing the home had not been cleaned. I immediately reached out to the host who said âit was a scheduling misunderstandingâ, I can say the were quick to get someone out the clean, there were bugs which we donât know where they were coming from. There was mold in the AC which we asked the host to make sure the cleaners attended to but that request was failed to be accomplished, this unit also had a strange odor. The provided utensils were not cleaned as well. The information packet provided was also dirty and out of date so the information was incorrect and a waste of time. Outlets in one of the bedrooms was just for decoration it did not work, blinds were broken throughout the unit.
I was a little taken aback when I first got to the rental. It smelled musty and like mildew. The duplex in which it is located is an older building so I wasnât expecting a five star stay but I was expecting basic amenities to be met and they werenât. Neither beds had a top sheet, just a fitted sheet and the thinnest quilt imaginable. The only bathroom had 2 towels and 1 washcloth. I had to purchase my own since there were a total of 3 guests. The listing says that it sleeps 6. Unless one person sleeps on the non pull out couch and another on a very tiny recliner, 4 people max would be most comfortable. As far as the kitchen goes, I couldnât find a single piece of silverware. Which was a let down because of the leftovers I had from dinner went bad because I had no way of eating them. Thankfully I already made muffins for my kids to eat for breakfast because they wouldnât have even been able to eat cereal. As far as the dishes went, there were 3 big plates and one salad plate. Again, not enough for the 6 people this listing claims to hold. There were dead bugs in the lamp shade in the living room and on the window seals as well as cobwebs. And speaking of windows, there are only 3 in the entire rental. Which would be known if there were pictures of the outside. But because the building is old and run down and the rental being on the basement floor, I can see why there are no pictures of the exterior.
