Sweet little house with a washer dryer, two full bedrooms and a deep tub in the bathroom. Easy communication with owners. Such a nice alternative to a boring hotel room. And fresh flowes and eggs!
Beautiful tiny home! It was so clean and inviting. The farm fresh eggs were the BEST I have ever had. The host family was very prompt and helpful. They offered a farm tour, and my kids loved it very much. The hard part was the expectations for lake. We chose this over other options, because of the kayaks and lake fun it advertised. The listing should state this is an alkaline lake, then you can make an educated decision for yourself. I was not comfortable with it. By this time of year, the water receded significantly, and the shore was thick with mud and heavily polluted. It was a minefield of broken glass, rusted barrels and pipes, as well as other garbage. For sure not safe for young kids to navigate. I asked the host family about the safety of the lake. They said they play in the water often with their children and that alkaline lakes are considered medicinal by Native Americans; although this time of year they tend to stay out of it because of the sticky mud. I felt like knowing August wasnât an idea time of year for lake fun would have been helpful in the description. Since she said they use the lake, we attempted to kayak. I thought we found a safe spot to enter the lake, but my son got a rusty nail and industrial staple stuck in his sandal that was hidden in the mud. Our sandals were being sucked deep in the mud and mine tore. I was worried if we had to exit barefoot. This was not the lake or beach fun we expected to be spending our time at.
It was a cozy place for our family! Our 3 teenagers loved that there was kayaks to use and although we didnt have the time to spend on the lake it was still a huge perk! Our hosts were fantastic!
We had a five night stay and were so comfortable we didn't want to leave. The property host was extremely responsive and cared about every detail to ensure our stay was perfect. The house was very clean. Beds were comfortable and they provided lots of extra blankets for our use. I loved having the washer and dryer available. Kitchen was great - we enjoyed cooking a few meals while were were there. Dishwasher was great to have as well! Temperatures were around 107 degrees when we arrived and very hot while we were there. The AC in the house worked great and kept us very comfortable. I used the wifi every day to work remotely. I never had trouble - email, zoom calls, etc... they all were flawless. The host even brought me a different table that I could use as a desk while I was there. The host and her children gave us a wonderful tour of their farm and shared the story of their property and the fire with us. It was definitely a highlight of our stay. Can't wait to come back!
