This home was a perfect place for our group of 6 adults to stay. Wonderful walkable neighborhood and easy access to the train system to get where we needed to go in Boston.
Very clean and spacious with lovely decor. Pretty side yard. Close to everything. We rented both units which accommodated 13 family members. I would highly recommend this property.
Perfect place for our family vacation. Loved the location, all the amenities, easy check-in and checkout and friendly host. The only thing to mention for young families are that the stairs are very steep for infants. Host had baby gate and large playpen which helped.
We had a fabulous stay! Margaret was a very delightful hostess - very good communication and had wonderful suggestions and recommendations. House is beautiful, yard is big and beautiful. Short walk to the orange line so easy to get places.
Ideal for group of old friends to get together and do some Boston events where we all went to college in the early 1980s. Great, quiet neighborhood with easy walk to Orange Line.
This Jamaica Plain neighborhood is a great location for getting around Boston. The train and many eateries and parks were within walking distance. The yard space was very helpful since we had small children. This old home had lots of character and the manager was very helpful. The stairs are quite steep, especially for the loft primary bedroom (which was spacious and beautiful) - so this space will be difficult for older people and small children. The home is obviously lived in and the manager was extremely helpful during our stay. The owner's recommendations for the area were also very helpful.
This house was perfect for our family vacation to Boston. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the train was nearby for when we went downtown Boston. Nice, clean house with plenty of space.
We loved this beautiful house and it was a perfect place for our extended family to relax in between graduation events! Margaret was a pleasure to communicate with. Highly recommended!
Our stay at Margret's was excellent. The house is super cute, well stocked and nicely decorated. A very comfortable space to hang out in. Margret's is super accessible. Would definitely stay there again.
My family stayed here during my graduation from graduate school. We had a wonderful time staying at the property. The house was beautiful and we loved the recommendations and history our host gave us during the check-in process. We would absolutely stay here again. It's perfect for a family visit.
Margaret was a wonderful host and communicated extremely promptly. Location was great, in close walking distance to public transportation and J.P. Downtown. We enjoyed making a cozy fire in the wood stove on a cool November evening. All in all a comfortable weekend with the family.
This is a great location outside of the city, close enough to enjoy all Boston has to offer but far enough to relax in this cute neighborhood. Food and parks are within walking distance. The weather was all sunshine but not too warm. Our host was so kind and communication was great.
Beautiful historic home in a charming neighborhood. We enjoyed our visit to JP, Boston and Providence over a long weekend. Wish I had designated more time to explore the arboretum a 10 minute walk from Margaretâs house. It was spectacular! Thanks for a great stay.
This was a no hassle comfortable home in the heart of JP. Easy access to the greenway and shops. Quiet neighborhood. We all slept well in this comfortable and charming gem of an old house with all the modern conveniences.
We want to say how wonderful our stay was. We loved the area; the eclectic furnishings were wonderful. Even though it was not home, it felt like home. The neighborhood was great, stores & shops were all walking distance, getting into downtown Boston was easy. Again, we can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was.
Hello! I'm a Texas native that hasn't lost my "ya'll" even though I've lived in Boston for over 30 years. I spend most of my time outdoors - enjoying my garden, walking in nearby nature preserves, going on long, long bike rides, and escaping to the beach. I actually love winter because I ski in the parks near my house every day when there's snow on the ground. It's a great way to exercise my dog, Lulu. I'm a political liberal, inveterate traveler and amateur classical musician though I love music of all sorts.
I live in the popular neighborhood of Jamaica Plain. People want to live and visit Jamaica Plain because it has a hip vibe, is close to downtown, and has the most parks in the entire metropolitan area. My home is on a short two block street with primarily row houses. It's at the foot of Sumner Hill which is filled with Victorian Mansions. It's fun to stroll around and imagine upper class life in the late 1800's. There is also a house dating from the 1700's on the main drag - Center Street. That's where the action is and it's only a 5 minute walk from my house. The Arnold Arboretum and Franklin Park total over 500 acres of open space and are less than a 10 minute walk. They are part of the Emerald .Necklace Greenway which was designed by Olmstead - who also designed Central Park. The wonderful lake, Jamaica Pond, is also nearby. Most of my guests love to take a walk or run in the Arboretum.
In a city of such density, it's hard to find a true home that's available for short-term rentals. Moreover, it is set on a quarter acre of land so you have plenty of room to spread out. Most people like to sit on the deck and enjoy the weather while grilling dinner. However, although you may be tempted to throw a party while you're here, gatherings are not permitted. This is out of respect for my neighbors. Thanks for your understanding about this!
