My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend, and enjoyed the beautiful location and proximity to Lake City and the Alpine loop. The rustic and quaint cabin is true to the description and photos, located across the road from the lake which is beautiful. Our main attraction to this cabin is that we could bring our dog with no extra fee! My one complaint however is that it didn't appear that the cabin was cleaned super thoroughly as there was dog hair in the carpet and on the bed from previous visitor's, but it is a pet friendly cabin. The office person I spoke to was very friendly and accommodating. We rented a jeep and did the alpine loop which was a blast. The locals in town were super friendly, and there are some cool art stores. Be forewarned that the town seems to shut down around 7pm, and the food options are limited.
I can't say anything bad about this place. The directions to get to the cabin was spot on. The cabin was clean and well stocked (even provided a crackpot). You can't beat the location! It was an easy jot to the main strip in Lake City (could drive our SxS in town) yet peaceful by San Lake Cristobal. Our main reason for staying at this location was to do the Alpine Loop. The cabin was off Cinnamon Pass which led to great riding & adventures. We would get up around sunrise to see the moose at the other end of the lake (marshy area); as well drive down there around a little before dark. We had a great time & talking about when we'll be back. Will definitely want to stay around this area next time.
There was only 2 of us that stayed this visit. If you are a family or have another couple with you I would consider how much time will be spent watching t.v. The network is great there but the location of the t v. to seats may be an issue. Maybe not for young kids (as I used to sit on the floor) but for more adults in relation to comfort (do to size of cabin).
Again, we enjoyed ourselves & loved the cabin! Even took advantage of their firepit.
Great time. However I believe there was a critter inside the house and it sounded like it was running laps in the bedroom at night. But really enjoyed staying there.
Enjoyed our stay. The bed was very comfortable. Had planned to cook but the stove was so small, decided against it. Did not look beforehand and was surprised to find there was no washer or dryer in the property. Regardless, we enjoyed the cabin and would recommend it to anyone not looking to do a lot of cooking. The lake view is stunning!
Although we were a bit late for the fall colors we woke up to gorgeous falling snow which made it perfect. Although there is no clear view of the lake from the cabin, Lake San Cristobal is only a short walk. The view of the lake is quite stunning with mountains in the background and emerald colored waters.
We loved our experience. We were able to get away and enjoy nature. The Hubby and son did a lot of exploring in the back of the cabin and even found a waterfall. It was walking distance to the lake and we saw a lot of Moose. The cabin was small but for a family of 4 and it was semi comfortable. The living area was small and the seating was very uncomfortable. Otherwise the space was perfect. We stayed 7 nights and the property manager was awesome. We had a small hiccup on but Tannah did amazing on trying to make it right.
Great, quiet location. There are other cabins around but they are located so that everyone has some privacy. Surrounded by Aspens. The whole area is beautiful.
Service was outstanding. Any minor issue we or our friends had was immediately handled. Cabin is adorable. Had everything we needed. Quiet area, relaxing, gorgeous. Would highly recommend!
My family of 4 enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It was just the perfect size for our family. Very nice, cozy, and clean. The area the cabin is located is just perfect. It's quiet, beautiful, and close to the lake and many trails. The cabin was supplied with everything we needed and more. We look forward to returning here many more times!
