Discover The Lookout: a newly upgraded private rooms to sleep, 3-bathroom Poconos gem located steps from Lake Harmony's town center and directly across from Nick's Lake House Restaurant. Enjoy the convenience of walking to local spots and the comfort of a mountain retreat with stunning views, now accommodating up to 14 guests.

The Lookout is a marvel of comfort and panoramic pleasures, with six expansive decks providing stages for people-watching and breathtaking views of Lake Harmony's shimmering waters. The journey begins on the first-level deck, which offers a generous outdoor dining area and plentiful seating for guests to gather and take in the town's vibrant scene.

Inside, the basement has been transformed into a private suite featuring one of the rooms to sleep with a queen-size bed an en-suite full bathroom, and a versatile pull-out futon bed, making it a perfect space for relaxation and fun after a day exploring the Poconos. This level also includes a snug gas fireplace, a pool table, and a laundry room for all your needs.

The heart of The Lookout beats on the second floor, where you’ll find another HD Smart TV, a second warm gas fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen with an inviting island. The dining area, capable of hosting eight guests, sets the scene for memorable feasts. Step outside onto the back deck, and you'll discover a grill waiting to sear your favorite flavors, alongside more outdoor dining options and a path to the fire pit.

The lake permits fishing, power boating, water skiing, swimming, and paddle boarding, picnic tables, beach volleyball, tennis courts, and shuffleboard. A mini-downtown with restaurants, nightlife, cafes, bars, shops, a post office, and a country store is just a walk down the way. This is the perfect vacation rental for families and groups seeking a luxurious and convenient getaway in Lake Harmony, PA.

Lake Harmony is just a few minutes’ stroll away from the cabin. This private lake permits:

✷ ✷ ✷ THIS HOME HAS MANY STAIRS. To access the first level of the home, guests will have to climb 37 steps, and the home itself has 3 levels.

✷ Must meet the minimum age requirement of 23. The host will verify a government-issued ID

✷ No worries about bed sheets/linens as they are provided! Beds are also comfortably furnished with mattress protectors, pillows with protectors, comforters, extra blankets, and quilts.

✷ 14 Towels (1 per guest) are provided as well as 2 kitchen towels and 3 hand towels (1 per bathroom). We do not provide beach towels or hot tub bathrobes.

✷ There are cameras outside the property.

✷ Extra cleaning services beyond routine cleaning will also be applied depending on how long our crew takes to clean.

✷ Check-out is promptly at 10am.

>> There will be a late check-out charge incurred of $150 for each hour past
the 10am check-out time.

>> Late check-out requests may be made via the online booking platform, beginning 24 hours prior to the actual check-out date and time (10am the day prior). Late check-out will be considered on a case-by-case basis and will only be considered if there is no other guest checking in that same day.

>> If late check-out is approved, the fee will be $50 per additional hour. Alternatively, the Host may offer a discount to extend the stay for an additional day.

***** Pet Rules:
- No dogs under 1-year-old.
- No dogs over 30lbs.
- No more than 2 dogs are allowed.
- Pet fees are, $60.00/dog for 2-4 nights and $120./dog for 5+ nights.
- PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON FURNITURE OR BEDS.
- Guest’s dog must have required shots, licenses, and tags, including name tags.
-No pets on the community beach.
- Guest must provide dog bedding/crate and towels to wipe off wet paws and fur.
- Dogs are not allowed on furniture or beds.
- Do NOT leave your dog in the home unattended.
- If guests’ dog sheds, please brush the dog outside daily.
- Guests must pick up after their dog/s and discard waste properly.
- Dogs are NOT allowed to be washed in the bathtub or showers.
- Guests are responsible for cleaning up any “accidents” their dog has caused inside. Please notify us of any accidents or damage.
- Guest's dog must be on a leash when outside.
- Guests are required to pay for any damage their dog causes.
- Excessively barking dogs are not allowed. Fees will be applied in the event that neighbors or security complain about dogs barking.

Parking rules:

- Driveway Parking: The township allows a maximum of 4 cars to be parked in the driveway.
- Street Parking: Street parking is not permitted at any time.
- Additional Parking: For extra parking needs, you may consider using other parking lots, one of which is located 1.1 miles from the house. This is approximately a 3-minute drive or a 25-minute walk. Please note that parking at any lots is at your own risk and discretion.

Nice property but misleading

There was no air conditioning which was a surprise when we got there. With how moist the house gets, each night you wake up to a ton of bugs everywhere.

Nice location, NO AC

The house was mostly fine but it has no air conditioning and this is not clear in the description. I called the owner who responded very quickly. She pointed out that AC does NOT appear in the list of features. They do however have directions for leaving the house in the description and one of the steps is to turn off the AC. So naturally I thought the house was equipped with it. The owner did offer to move us to another property but we elected to stay, despite it getting up to about 85F on the 3rd floor. It was also humid enough that there were small pools of water on some parts of the floor downstairs. The lake is beautiful and there is a public access area to swim.

A former guest noted the absence of AC and left a less-than-satisfactory review despite the listing clearly not stating AC as an amenity. Additionally, they declined our offer to move them to another property with AC during their stay. We are committed to providing a 5-star experience for all our guests. Underwhelming Stay

The house's location and layout were decent, but there were several issues. Upon arrival, we discovered the four-car parking area could barely fit three cars. Even without snow, there was no way to park four cars, forcing us to park one in a nearby lot.The 37 stairs leading to the property were mostly unshoveled, with only the first 20 cleared. The remaining steps required us to shovel ourselves, and the handrails were poorly taped together, making them unsafe, especially in icy conditions.Inside, we were greeted by a strong septic smell that worsened over the weekend. The pool table was missing balls, and the upstairs fireplace didn’t work. After troubleshooting, we discovered the pilot light batteries were low, so we had to buy new batteries to relight it.Mouse traps were scattered throughout the house, and we found fresh droppings near the closets. While many areas appeared updated, others were unfinished, with patched and unpainted walls and exposed wires.The most concerning issue was the foul smell, which made us feel sick by Saturday, so we spent as little time inside as possible. Despite reaching out to the owner via text about our concerns, we received no response.Overall, we would not recommend this location to anyone.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. I would like to clarify a few points. As noted in the listing, parking is limited, and the additional parking lot is conveniently located around the corner. Guests are made aware of this in advance to help with planning. Regarding the stairs, we do our best to clear them, but during an active snowstorm, accumulation is inevitable. When booking a mountain home in the winter, snow and ice should be expected, and we always recommend guests come prepared, and we do provide salt and shovels. I am also disappointed to hear you had concerns but never reached out to me directly through VRBO, email, or phone. I am always readily available to assist, and I never received any messages from you. Had I known about any issues, I would have sent maintenance immediately to address them. For example, we keep spare batteries in the kitchen drawer, and I also have extra pool balls available. As for pest control, this is a mountain home, and while we have regular professional treatments to manage wildlife, occasional sightings are possible. The septic smell you mentioned was never reported to me, but had I been informed, I would have promptly investigated and resolved it. I strive to provide a great experience for all guests, and it’s frustrating to learn of concerns only after the fact when I was not given the opportunity to assist during your stay. Nonetheless, I appreciate your feedback and will continue to ensure the home is well-maintained for future guests.
