Archie the Airstream in the New River Gorge National Park beside local Brewery
Youâll treasure your time at Archie, after a long day of adventuring in the Park, Archie will accommodate you by relaxing in a private setting in High Country. Hangout on the patio, throw some frisbee, play crochet! Cozy up inside read a book, listen to music, full kitchen for an inspiring chef. Archie is also neighbors and a stones throw away from The Freefolk Brewhouse & Tasting Room and wood fired pizza. Located close to local state parks, hiking biking trails, horseback riding etcâŠ.
Very cute and cozy. Unique accommodations with tons of detail put into the nostalgic decor. Great location for all of our exploring. Very clean and fantastic amenities
This is a very unique, beautifully appointed airstream!! The bed is very comfortable and spacious and everything was available for a pleasant weekend trip.
This is ideal for moderate temperatures, so I would prefer to stay here spring or fall times.
We enjoyed our trip very much!!!
Although the camper was very cute and conveniently located, I would not recommend staying there. It was definitely overpriced given the fact that the power went out after two hours and the owners never communicated with us, even after reaching out. Every fabric surface inThe camper was covered in dog hair. According to previous reviews, power is always an issue.
Our stay was so disappointing. My husband and I planned an anniversary trip to Shenandoah and New River Gorge and we booked Archie for one night that was supposed to be relaxing. However, the toilet stopped working after we each used it once upon our arrival. We contacted the host multiple times with no response. There were also ants throughout the camper. We had muffins in a plastic container on the counter and when we woke up, they were covered in ants. Definitely not worth the money we paid. Weâre hoping to request a refund. I hope the owners do some serious work before continuing to rent this property.
We always wanted to experience a "camping" stay in an Airstream, and "Archie" was very cool. We spent two days in Archie and had a great time. The airstream was kept well and decorated in a cool thematic way. The nearby areas had a number of activities and places to visit, especially Fayetteville, which was a cool little town. We have recommended Archie and the area to a few of our friends and would recommend it to anyone who wants a different kind of fun stay in beautiful West Virginia.
Archie was decorated so cute! There are some quirks that definitely need attention. The air conditioning didnât work, the television/wifi didnât work, and the electricity shut off the last day and we had to take cold showers. It was very unfortunate that the host stop responding to these problems, so none of them were fixed while we were there. Itâs not very secluded either, there is a house right beside of it. I wouldâve loved to rate this place differently. It is as cute as they come! Unfortunately our experience wasnât the best.
My wife and I booked Archie for a weekend trip to New River Gorge National Park. We had a great stay. The trailer was cute, the shower had good pressure and heat, and the bed was comfortable. The trailer was in a nice spot - only a short drive to the park and to local restaurants and stores. Would definitely book again
First off, itâs a really neat cozy place to stayâŠthe issues we had were power outage due to capacityâŠspent in total 9 hours there without power (not including our time out and about) this was kind of a big issue for us due to routine grooming appliances (hair dryer/straightener, beard straightener etc.) not only that it gets very hot super quick in the heat of the day in there and the air conditioner provided just doesnât keep up as it is. It really needs 1 unit at each end of the airstream to really be functional as an A/CâŠbut then you have the power issue that Iâm not sure would be able to handle 2 units. Iâm not an electrician this is just my speculation. We noticed the power would trip when the hot water for a shower was used (a/c was on during this time). The airstream breaker box was fine so it had to be tripped from a main line. Next is the size of the bathroom. Itâs simply not big enough to do your business as Iâm not a huge person but not a little guy either so i canât even imagine a larger person trying to fit in thereâŠmaybe have a porta john on premises for just in case?(for us this wasnât nearly as big of an issue but itâs worth mentioning i feel like)âŠother than those 2 things the vibe was immaculate and exactly what we were looking for and near adventure at the gorge. And tbh the price would be more than fair if the electrical and A/C were better figured out. If those were fixed Iâd absolutely stay here again regularly.
