1007 Whitewashed Harbor Residency

Unit 1007 is a deluxe one-bedroom condo, situated in the middle of 10th floor, offering guests some of the most optimal ocean views. Two separate sitting balconies, furnished with polywood rockers and tables, are the perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful sunset over the ocean.

This condo was completely remodeled in 2022: New open floor plan concept with vinyl wood flooring throughout, fresh paint, new baseboards, new crown molding, and new lighting offer a fresh, bright space.

All furniture in the unit is new and updated as well. The master bedroom has two beautiful queen beds and a long dresser for plenty of storage. The living room has a sleeper sofa for additional sleep space if needed. Both the living and master have new smart TVs, which allow guests to connect to their favorite entertainment apps: Disney Plus, Netflix, Hulu, etc. Phone charging station also available in bedroom with hook up for USB and lightening cables.

The kitchen has been fully updated with new stainless appliances, beautiful quartz countertops, and stocked with everything you need to prepare and enjoy meals in your home away from home.

The bathroom has been fully renovated with a beautiful glass, walk in shower, new vanity with quartz counter, and new toilet. Hairdryer and makeup mirror are available for guests use.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We recently had our first stay at The Galvestonian. Overall, it was a decent trip, though there were several pros and cons. The condo itself was clean, well-maintained, featured reliable AC, good water pressure, and a fully stocked kitchen. We also appreciated the beach chairs and gear provided in the closet. However, while the unit itself is "renovated", the furniture is feeling tired and worn. The kitchen table was wobbly, the seating (wicker chairs and dining chairs) was uncomfortable for family time, and the refrigerator's ice/water dispenser didn't work. The mattress closest to the sliding door creaked loudly and sagged in the middle, though the kids said their bed was fine. A minor nuisance was that random spiders appeared from the shade mechanisms whenever we adjusted the blinds. With only one tiny bathroom and no in-unit laundry, managing wet beach and pool gear was a challenge due to a lack of hanging space.The grounds, boardwalk, and pool area are meticulously maintained. However, beach access relies entirely on steps. If you plan on bringing a lot of your own gear, it is a logistical nightmare, as you have to lug everything down elevators and then a flight of stairs to the beach level just to access a beach wagon. Unfortunately, the elevators were also highly unreliable—one was broken the entire time, the service elevator felt very dated, and the final working elevator broke on our departure day.The cleaning and maintenance staff were extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. I would not say the same of the front desk. Property management requires renters to wear highly visible wristbands at all times, which created a noticeable divide between guests and residents that felt very intentional, and front desk reminders felt rigid and unwelcoming. Conversely, community rules—like restrictions on balls in the pool or adult-only hot tub hours—were not enforced at all. The beach itself was just okay. Ultimately, it

We do want to provide a little context regarding the elevators. The property is currently undergoing a major elevator modernization project. During your stay, one elevator was out of service while mechanical components were being replaced as part of this long-term upgrade, and we appreciate everyone's patience as we work to improve the reliability of the system. Regarding the wristbands, they are required for everyone using the property—including owners, guests, and staff. Their purpose is simply to help identify authorized individuals on the property and enhance security, not to distinguish renters from residents. We also appreciate your comments about the furnishings and maintenance items in the unit. We have shared your feedback with the owner and our maintenance team so these items can be evaluated. Thank you again for your review. We hope you'll consider visiting us again once our elevator modernization project is complete.

Wonderfully relaxing getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I recently visited The Galvestonian and stayed in 1007 Whitewashed Harbor. The condo itself was clean and decorated in relaxing colors and not too much extra decor to clutter up the space. The kitchen had everything one could imagine making ones stay easy if they wanted to stay in and cook, except for groceries of course. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels were clean and plush. The property was well taken care of and felt like I was staying in a upscale resort. The pool and hot tub were great after a long day of exploring the island and having access to the mostly empty beach was a dream. Close enough to the hustle and bustle of the town to jump in the car and go, but nice and relaxing if you just wanted to stay at the beach and condo and enjoy the solitude. We had to extend our stay for one day due to unforeseen circumstances and luckily the condo was not booked and the staff was very understanding and helpful to make that happen. I will definitely be back as soon as I can!

Welcome respite before holiday rush

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My room was updated and very clean. My only complaints are the mattresses are rock hard and the bedroom tv would only stream one station. As for the property, I think they really need to re-vamp their fitness room. The size is fine, but really need to repair some equipment.
