SECLUDED COTTAGE IN THE VERY HEART OF THE HIGHLANDS OF SCOTLAND
The Cottage is located in the highlands of Scotland, and the largest National Park in Britain. It is set among the majestic pine woods of Drumguish, with mountain views and teeming with wildlife. It is close to the town of Kingussie with its shops and golf course, and in easy reach of Aviemore with its ski slopes on Cairngorm mountain. The area is a walkers' paradise with lowland and upland trails starting direct from the cottage. Cyclists and mountain bikers also have immediate access to the tracks in Insh Forest, Glen Feshie and beyond. The Cottage has been converted from an old crofters cottage and now has all amenities including central heating, double glazed windows and two wood burning stoves with all the wood you need included.
We all really enjoyed our stay. Up early each morning to see the garden wildlife, fox, hares, squirrels, pheasants, woodpecker and lots of finches.Great cottage with all that you need, only downside was the third bedroom which is better suited for children than adults, mezzanine area.Fraser and Bridget lovely and very welcoming. We certainly will visit again to explore this beautiful area.
Just as it looked on the photographs. A lovely big garden with play area for our granddaughters. Spacious bedrooms with a twin room upstairs which the girls found exciting. Three separate seating areas, one of which was the sunroom with great views south and lots of seating and woolly blankets. Games and books for children and adults. There was nothing lacking and everything was done thoughtfully and to a high standard. The hosts lived in their own house about thirty yards away which we found reassuring given the fact we were quite naturally unfamiliar with some things. They were welcoming and friendly. We had to ask for help with one minor process and the lady came over immediately and showed us what to do. The kitchen was well stocked and there was a very good supply of nespresso coffee which pleased our son. We were very happy with our stay - but it wasn't long enough!
Sehr abgeschieden gelegen, ideal um die Hektik zurĂŒckzulassen. GemĂŒtlich eingerichtet mit 2 Feuerstellen, alles, was man braucht, ist vorhanden. Absolut zu empfehlen
We have both lived in this area most of our lives. we brought up our children here and now our grandchildren are enjoying the wonderful Cairngorms. We love to travel and because of this we lare so happy to welcome travellers from all over the word. Our last trip was to the Arctic!
We love to walk amongst the tall pine trees, in summer with the purple heather at our feet and in winter with deep snow and our cockerpoo bounding along in front. It feels remote yet only 3 miles from the small highland town of Kingussie with its main line railway and road. We can hike the trails or cycle straight from the door and every day we realise again how lucky we are to live in this part of the world.
Built many years ago (I think the exact record is lost) this small crofters cottage has been transformed. With the addition of a bedroom and bathroom wing and a large sunroom overlooking the garden the cottage now has enough space for all generations. The large garden and the ability to hike, cycle or mountain bike straight from the door is very special to us.
