Twa Hoots Lodge - a lodge that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
Twa Hoots Lodge is a log cabin in Aviemore close to The Cairngorms. This lodge is situated in a small neuk of chalet log cabins just a short walk to Aviemore and Rothiemurchus. Just along the road is The Old Bridge Inn, a local pub on the banks of the River Spey. The chalet log cabin is perfect for 4 people and is dog friendly too. Please note no wi-fi is available.
Location is fantastic, quiet and walking distance to the Main Street to bars, restaurants etc. . Cabin was clean and had a very cosy feel about it especially at night time. Maybe a little dated but it certainly didnât put us off. Very comfortable and we had a great stay there.
I found Twa Hoots very clean , comfortable and extremely well equipped. It was in a lovely location and very quiet. My only complaint, a bit on the dark side inside the property, could be doing with brighter bulbs
Brilliant lodge, walking distance to town, if u didnât like what was on tv books, games & dvds in lodge to use, all the amenities u need in lodge and very cosy, would definitely recommend it and will definitely go back myself.
We were delighted with Twa Hoots Lodge. We chose it for its handy location which allowed us to walk from the door - up the river, through the town, to local pubs and cafes, and explore the surrounding countryside - as well as being a short drive from lots of excellent hill walking. We also enjoyed a hill trip with the Cairngorm Reindeer Herd. The lodge was homely, warm and cosy, clean and very well equipped. A very comfortable bed and a good shower were also welcome after a day on the hill. The owner was very friendly and helpful when we contacted her with a few enquiries about our stay.
Very homely, clean older style only concern gas fire. Otherwise had a good holiday and excellent communication from owners and letting staff.
Husband couldnât work TV but thatâs on him
The lodge is in an outstanding location to explore Aviemore and the Cairngorms. Quiet and comfortable. However, The lodge Is a little outdated and dusty in parts . We had an issue over heating as the fire did not work and neither did the radiator provided , this was rectified as soon as I raised this. The TV did not work , no signal to obtain the free view channels and when reading the guest book comments this has had a recurring mention , if this is advertised , then It should be fully working . That said, we enjoyed our stay and worth a visit .
We thought the place was looking a bit tired in places and needed an update, You can feel the springs in the main sofa when sat.
There is no oven only a microwave so be aware of that, although there is an air fryer. Kitchen otherwise was well stocked.
The property could have been cleaner on arrival, toilet in particular which I had to clean. Tiny old corner shower, if you are over 6ft its a squeeze.
Whilst it states there is no WiFi at booking, there clearly is as Netflix etc is available. Perhaps this code could be offered to guests?
Location is excellent though near the Old Bridge Pub.
For the money we paid, I would have expected a better place to stay.
This cabin is in a great location. Itâs very basic accommodation though comfortable enough and clean inside. Fine for a basic break.
Outside, most chairs and surfaces were very dirty and lots of weeds in the gravel. Inside was very dark - needed a torch to use the oven. The main ceiling light wasnât working. Neither was the gas fire which had a âdanger do not useâ label There was a small oil filled radiator that we only found behind a chair the day we left. Bedrooms and shower room had working heaters and warm.
A cosy lodge, great location a short walk to the Old Bridge Inn and another few minutes to the main st. Had everything you need for a short stay but any longer and I think we would have found it too small. Would benefit from an upgrade to the bathroom. No wifi which I didnât personally mind.couldnât work the fire but got a quick response from the owner with a helpfulVideo.
Twa Hoots was a comfortable lodge in an ideal location, just a short walk to a lovely pub and a short drive to Aviemore. It was also a short drive to the Cairngorms, Loch Morlich and various other scenic walks. The lodge was well equipped with everything needed for a stay.
It was great having the Sky TV, DVDs and the fire made coming back after long walks very cosy and comfortable. It was excellent the lodge was dog friendly and spare bowls etc. provided.
Our only minor issue was the lodge is a little dated and the living room furniture could be doing with upgrading. It can also be a little noisy being so close to the train line. However these things didn't spoil our stay and if we were coming back to the area, we'd definitely stay again as it was great value for money.
This property is in great need of a total refurbishment both internally and externally. The shower was functional, but despite my slim build there was VERY limited room for movement and there is no extractor fan in place. The lighting throughout the property requires upgrading. The property is, however, in close proximity to the town and a decent pub/restaurant is easily within walking distance.
