Cracker Cow Cottages A, Downtown Ft. Myers: Walk to Best Eats and Shops!
Cracker Cow Cottages consist of three charming cottages situated in the river district of downtown Ft. Myers, Florida. Nestled just one street away from McGregor Blvd., this property holds historical significance as it sits on what was once the cattle run of the Heritage Breed Cracker Cows. McGregor Blvd., now a paved road, was originally a dirt path carved by Cracker Cowboys guiding their stock to Punta Rassa. Upon reaching Punta Rassa, the cattle would be loaded onto ships destined for Cuba. Our cottages seamlessly blend modern amenities with a nod to the rich history of old Florida. Conveniently located in walking distance to restaurants and shopping as well as the Thomas Edison and Henry Ford historic winter homes, and a short drive to beaches.
This is a super clean and nice property, includes every detail needed for a relaxing and fun time visiting this area. I will definitely be staying again in the future!
Stayed a week during a little cold spell. We got to enjoy relaxing by a fireplace. Read a couple of quick read books about this area. Enjoyed the exquisite decorated details. All our needs with supplies were met. Easy walk to downtown.
We had the best time at Cracker Cow Cottage! The amenities were perfect for our stay and the bed was wonderful. We were able to walk downtown and it was centrally located from anywhere we had to drive to. Thanks, Cracker Cow! Hope to stay here again.
This place did not disappoint. It was absolutely perfect for my husband and I to enjoy while in town for a wedding. We had everything we needed including both an iron and a garment steamer. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the couch was too and the blankets provided allowed for snuggling up and watching the tv more comfortably. I would absolutely stay here again for many reasons, including how helpful the host Michelle was!
My wife and I booked our Cracker Cow Cottage in Ft. Myers, FL, for a 3 day, 2 night getaway vacation. We were interested in seeing the changes in the area after Hurricane Ian a year or two ago. We were very pleased with our cottage. It had everything we needed and so much more. The host really knows how to take care of every need a guest might have. We enjoyed our visit to Ft. Myers Beach where we observed things had been cleaned up extensively and demo and restoration work was being done on some of the buildings and even high rise hotels. Very interesting. (We had been to the area some 34 years ago in 1990 when our children were small on a vacation from our then Missouri home.) We walked beach at sunset on Thursday evening and it was beautiful. We also had a great meal on Friday for lunch with friends from Naples at Nervous Nellies. So delicious. We anticipated going to the Edison Museum, but we enjoyed the comforts of our cottage so much, that we decided to hang out at Cracker Cow Cottage A instead. This is a beautiful vacation rental and we highly recommend it to all. We did walk to historic downtown Ft. Myers and a fascinating and huge street festival was going on that we did not even know about. So many interesting booths and artists and street performers. It was very entertaining. We are now back at home in Tampa, a 2 hour drive from Ft. Myers, with many pleasant memories of our relaxing stay at Cracker Cow Cottages.
My husband Steve and I have lived in Fort Myers for over 30 years. We enjoy all the outdoor activities our beautiful weather accommodates. We have always enjoyed staying in boutique rentals because they reflect local culture and history. We also enjoy a personalized experience and the intimacy a smaller rental offers for a private and cozy stay. Our rentals have all of this and are also in a vibrant and walkable area.
The neighborhood that our rentals are located in use to be the cattle run of the beloved Cracker Cows. We love the rich history of old Fort Myers and we bring this to you through the decor of our rentals. They all have a distinctive design and atmosphere.
Our properties are all located together on one parcel of land. The location of them sets us apart because we are in walking distance of the River District including all the shopping, restaurants, and entertainment you could desire. It also is next to Centennial Park that has a walking path meandering along the Caloosahatchee River where you can watch the sunset or hike over the bridge for some exercise. You can walk to museums, breweries, and even the grocery. We have an outdoor courtyard for Cottages A and B that is under old oak trees that provides beautiful shade and recliners to sip tea or bubbly in the afternoon. Cottage C has its own salt water hot tub. All the cottages have private areas with firepits for chilly nights!
