Enjoy the sounds of nature when you stay in this unique place. This is a gorgeous off grid 40â Modern Container with queen bed, a/c, electricity and WIFI. Itâs a convenient 5 minute drive to Haleiwa Town but make no mistake, we are remote and off grid, so itâs the best of both worlds. You must have a vehicle to get to the ranch. This dwelling is off-grid and resources such as electricity and water do have limitations. Please contact me before booking.
If you book this place, please be well aware that it feels more like camping. It is off grid and energy and water needs to be saved, but what is not mentioned is that the water is on a timer, which is located 100m downhill. This means you cannot go to the bathroom at night, for example. The hut itself only has a cold shower. There also was no cutlery, glasses, plates or tea towels, and you have to bring your own drinking water. So the kitchen you see on the pictures is quite useless. The pod was also very hot, with a glass facade and only one blind. We were afraid to leave our belongings during the day because of the heat. When opening up the facade, it did cool down slowly, especially when also using the air conditioning, so we did manage to sleep. The view is also different from the pictures, itâs quite grown over now, so there is mainly a view of green plants (sugarcane?) and not much of the valley. I recommend you only book this place with the right expectations - we found it an expensive way of camping thoughâŠ
The property is very cool, as pictured. It was wonderful to sit outside after dark and look at the stars (with bug spray on). The view is lovely during the day, esp with the birdsong background music. The location is private, but accessible. Directions per host were accurate. From the photos, it looks like there is a kitchen, but it literally only has a fridge that cannot run during the day, so food got warm. The tiny house is powered by solar and the battery was used up at night to power lights and A/C. The doors open, but there are no windows, so we needed to run the A/C to venilate/cool the place. There is no drinkable water, which we didn't know until we booked and paid for the place. We needed to bring all of our drinking water. Prepare yourself for a cold shower, if you want to shower indoors. The outdoor shower is too close to a yert. It is more like very expensive glamping than VRBO. There is an agreement for guests to sign about the zoning of the property. Not sure it qualifies as a VRBO. But it is a unique, once in a lifetime experience.
