Light-filled and Moroccan inspired, this serene yet vibrant urban retreat is your perfect home away from home. Fully-equipped for a care-free stay a mile from the nation's Capitol. Easy & free access via streetcar from Union Station. Walk to some of DC's best markets, restaurants, coffee shops and nightlife. Enjoy the charm of Capitol Hill and proximity to DC's dynamic H Street corridor, this lovely two-story retreat is the perfect place to stay for families or small groups.
The space
The Space: We love our 100+ year old townhome and recently renovated it for your utmost comfort. Fresh minimalist decor creates a relaxing urban oasis. Morning light streams through the windows and washes the comfortable living room, providing the perfect spot to read a good book with a fresh cup of coffee or tea (provided). A small dining table provides the perfect spot to share a meal, knock out some work (hopefully not :)) or play games. The sleek modern kitchen is equipped with a full-size refrigerator (with freezer), microwave, oven, electric range/cooktop, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker (and supplies), flatware, mugs, plates, cups, pots, pans and basic cooking supplies. The bright full bathroom is stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a hairdryer, q-tips and cotton rounds for your convenience. A stacked washer and dryer (2nd floor den), iron and ironing board (2nd floor closet) are also provided in the unit for your use. The unit is equipped with WiFi and two large screen TVs (with channels through YouTube TV) for your entertainment/viewing pleasure.
Sleeping arrangements: The unit is equipped to sleep up to 6 guests (families of 6 are welcome OR a maximum 4 unrelated guests are allowed). The upper floor contains a private bedroom and a den that has been converted to a sleeping area/bedroom using beautiful drapery to separate the sleeping area. The lower level living room has a chic and comfortable West Elm pull-out sofa. The bedroom contains a large walk-in closet which is great for a pack-n-play if you're toting along a little one that needs a semi-private space to sleep.
Family Friendly: Minimal furnishings and decor provide for a family-friendly stay. A high-chair and pack-n-play are provided for your use (please bring your own sheets). There’s a big closet upstairs adjacent to one of the bedrooms if having a separate space for your little one is desired. We simply ask that you put the pack-n-play (place mattress and frame in the bag) and high chair away (wipe off and collapse) in the closet where you found them before you leave if they are used. 🙏
Outdoor Oasis: This lovely unit has access to a beautiful private backyard space. Guests can enjoy relaxing on the beautiful outdoor lounge furniture or dine al fresco at the 4-top bistro table. Your hosts have access to this same space and may use it on occasion. Please let us know if there is a specific occasion in which you would like to "reserve" the space for your own private use and we'll be sure to make plans accordingly.

Guest Access: Located off a shared entrance, a key pad is provided for your convenient and easy access to the building and your private suite. There is half a flight of stairs up to the main entrance from the street and then a flight of stairs inside the unit (the unit itself if two stories).
Other things to note
This beautiful, multi-unit urban townhome is shared with your host (we live just next door) and other guests. Sounds of life from the adjacent unit and below may be noticeable during your stay but few guests find this disruptive.
COVID-19 Precautions
The host and cleaning crew are taking extra precautions to disinfect the space between all guests. All spaces described/shown in the listing are private and dedicated to this unit only. The only shared space is an entry hallway where guests/tenants rarely come and go at the same time. This safe, clean and relaxing getaway is a perfect retreat during this unique season.
