Vivenda Xavier est situé dans le petit village de pêcheur nommé Porto Formoso, (le merveilleux port). Juste environ 3 minutes de la vivenda you'l trouvons est la plage locale Praia dos Moinhos. Une petite plage très particulier avec des installations sanitaires en circulation. Non loin de là, vous pouvez profiter d'une bonne tasse de thé à Chá de Porto Formoso. Un de l'entreprise deux vieux de la famille en Europe impliqués dans la production de thé. Ce, tout façonné avec le petit port de pêcheur et l'église locale de 1509, se transforme cette petite place dans un lieu unique en Europe. Les habitants font aujourd'hui leur vivant principalement de l'agriculture, l'élevage et la pêche.

Comfortable home in a great location

The house is exactly as shown and caters well for a longer term stay. It has all necessary amenities and it is a great place to come home to after a day of exploring. The owner was in constant contact and left us helpful suggestions and tips to make our trip more enjoyable. We highly recommend.

Porto Formoso stay

Our host was terrific, not only in ensuring the property was wonderful, but also in helping with recommendations in the area. We loved being away from Ponta Delgarda, but still just a short drive to anywhere on the island. The beach is great. You will not regret booking this property.

Home away from home

We spent 6 nights in this lovely house. First the balcony has an amazing view of the water fall and ocean and cliffs. Look to the right and you see a hill side of pastures and cows.

SO wonderful!

We loved our stay - everything about it! The house is marvelous. Luis couldn’t be a more responsive & kind host. The proximity to the beach is special. I loved sitting on the porch watching the view change minute by minute. A perfect vacation place. We highly recommend!!

Perfect spot

Truly lovely house with beautiful views high above the sea. House has everything you need and is centrally located on the island. The sleepy town is exactly what we wanted and since nothing is too far on this island with good roads and clear signage , we had no trouble exploring all parts of the island.Luis is a great host who’s communication is excellent.

Great vacation

We had a wonderful vacation. The house was very comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. The location is excellent for travelling around the island, and the local beach is a 10 minute walk away. The owner was very helpful, with a good binder available for suggestions of activities. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone staying on San Miguel.

Owner was great at checking with us

We woukd recommend the property to other friends. We cooked in the outdoor kitchen, 4 out of 5 nights. Well set up, cooking with a view is great. Luis the owner wad very helpful

Very well equipped and great host

Very scenic location on the north coast provided great central hub for touring the island. The house was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. Nearby restaurants were excellent and reasonably priced. Luis was easy to contact and offered great advice.. We had a great week even though the weather didn't fully cooperate.

Best area to set up home to explore the Island

Xavier provided everything we needed to feel at home on the island. Beach towels, full kitchen, fully stock bathrooms and laundry facilities. BBQ, outdoor dining with views of a waterfall and coastline from a terrace provides an outdoor respite. Being able to come back to this home after a full day of exploring was such a treat.

Great place to stay easy access from the airport and the many places to visit

What a wonderful property we enjoyed our stay - it felt just like home and very easy to settle after arrival - well equipped too and a balcony which we used to the full a great place in the morning having breakfast in the sunshine - would definitely stay here again The owner too despite living in Holland was very attentive and made sure from arrival until departure you had what you needed and with the offer of help if required. Luis was an amazing host and takes great care and pride in his property --- it really felt like we were staying at a friend's house. Fantastic views, easy access to beach and trails, but still felt comfortably off the beaten path. Very spacious and peaceful. If you stay here please look out for the neighborhood siamese cat we named "george".

Great Vacation home.

The vacation home was well maintained and exceptional clean. The owner made us quite welcome, inviting us to use all the amenities of the home. Beautiful view from the balcony. Five minute walk to the beach. Would recommend this house !! Would return to Azores and rent again. Five to ten minute drive to Ribeira Granda.

Great week

We had a truly lovely time at Luis's place. Our kids loved it and we appreciated the baby gates, high chairs, and pack and play. The views of the ocean, and cows on a hillside, from the outdoor dining table were sublime. As others have noted, Luis is a top-of-the-line host who pays a ton of attention and wants to make sure you have a stellar stay.

Living the dream

We stayed for 3 nights, wished we had a week at Vivienda Xavier. We loved the property, amenities, and location. We fully enjoyed the sound of the ocean & waterfall from the patio in the morning & evenings, and the activities on the island, as well as the quaint beach and trail with waterfall within walking distance. We are already talking about returning with additional family to enjoy the island and the property. We absolutely loved our time, and Luis was a great, very communicative host.

Great home away from home!

This rental is one of the best we have stayed in. Everything is as the owner Luis has stated. He was very personable and helpful, even when I called him a couple of times with questions. It is on the eastern side of the island but only 30 minutes from Ponta Delgado. The beach nearby and the cafe is quaint and a nice place to end your day. The house is well stocked, Luis has thought of just about everything I would stay here again.

Perfect place in a perfect location

Beautiful, comfortable home perched on the hillside overlooking the ocean and cliffs of Porto Formoso. Short walk to the beach or to the cliffs. Luis, our distant host was friendly, attentive and really does care about making your stay a perfect one! You will need a car to see the sights of the island or to go grocery shopping. But as a home base with comfort, a view, and astoundingly beautiful environs it is a home that is perfect!

Best Vacation Ever!!!

Thank you so much, Luis for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. Vivenda Xavier was absolutely wonderful. This was our first trip to Sao Miguel, but definitely won't be our last. The villa was clean, well maintained and fully equipped with everything you needed and more. The view from the patio was simply amazing. Luis was a pleasure to deal with. Always quick to answer any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this villa to friends and family.
