It's a pretty small apartment. It didn't have hair dryer and iron. The safe also didn't have battery and was not working. Other than that, it's a decent property in a gated community.
The apartment is a little smaller than appears in the photos, but it has everything you need if you plan to travel around the island. The beach is in walking distance, but this beach is often rough and not ideal for swimming. A quick Uber ride from old San Juan. Management is very friendly and helpful! Super market just down the street. Great place to call home base for your trip to PR.
They provide many useful things for the beach and the kitchen, but the photos give a brighter newer image, not showing the blemishes. The cable TV did not work for several days, but things happen. They could fix the ceiling lamp so it is mounted better, clean the cable strung across the ceiling, screw in the handle to the large frying pan so the handle doesn't wobble, add a large cover for that pan. The place is dark during the day. We called it the cave. We did see two roaches over the stay of 9 days. I recommend that visitors keep food scraps in a large container (provided) in the refrigerator. It would be wasteful to throw out the large garbage bags a quarter full each day. You could throw out the scraps from the refrigerator when you are about to throw out the large garbage. All that said, if you are looking for a decent space that provides most of what you need, and not concerned of the look, this will work.
This place works for a no frills hang. Everything you need is there and it is functional. If you plan on walking make sure to ask for a key for the community gates otherwise itâll be much harder to get out of the neighborhood. You donât want to be outside the gates on the projects side after dark. Buses donât seem to be running very often right now so keep that in mind as well. Itâs about 5 miles into Old San Juan.
Based on the other reviews I knew the property would be small. That was fine. The property was cute and colorful. The covers on the pullout bed and the main bed had hair all over and in the sheets. When I communicated that, there was no reply. We changed the sheets to the spare ones in the closet and there was also a great deal of hair in those. The floor wasnât swept well and there was a stain down the toilet leading onto the floor. There were ants, I messaged about that with no reply. Found the spray upon looking under the cabinets. In the photos, the side door is shown open, but it is closed off and none of the keys work for it. The manual (binder) does need to be updated. The property is very secure. Overall, it wasnât a bad stay but with minor improvements it would have been much better.
My husband and I stayed here for a week to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Overall we really enjoyed our stay! Great location! Everything was a short drive or walk away. We rented a car to help us get around. We felt very safe and enjoyed living like locals for the week. The property was very helpful and made our stay easy and enjoyable.
Good property, good location... But bad experience.
Firstly, there is nothing wrong with the property itself. It was it as advertised and the location is excellent. But the overall experience left a lot to be desired.
Our visit to Puerto Rico coincided smack dab with a major fire in the power station so most of the island was without electricity for 3 days. While that is no fault of the hosts, they did not step up at all to make any adjustments to our stay.
Firstly, the fire happened during the day and our flight landed at 11:30pm in the night. While the hosts knew our flight schedule and were communicating with us on the booking and other details, they did not communicate of the power issue. No warning whatsoever. Even after we arrived in Puerto Rico, there was absolutely no communication from the hosts. And that was the story for the length of our stay for 3 days.
The hosts made no arrangement of even providing us with basics such as candles, flashlight or battery-operated fans⊠not even a battery pack to charge our phones.
The whole idea of staying in a house was to do basic cooking like breakfast and other snacks. With the power out and the refrigerator, electric stove and microwave rendered useless, we had no option but to eat in restaurants all the time. The hosts did not even arrange a cooler of ice with water bottles or offer a bag of donuts even. Other hosts in nearby rentals where our friends were staying offered this basic courtesy.
To make matters worse, the generator of the neighbors ran 24*7 and was right outside the window of the bedroom. The hosts also failed to disclose that the property across the road was under construction and the crew started work early in the morning. This offered absolutely no peace and quiet in the early morning hours either.
The hosts became active once again when it was time to checkout⊠and there were SMS exchanges reminding us of the time and procedure of the checkout.
Location was ideal for a quick get away
All the amenities were easily accessible
The staff was prompt to attend to all concerns
Overall great experience
My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the unit and PR. We may need a bigger place next time but definitely will work with the management company. We had power outage issue but it was taken care of within 2 hours.
Apt was just right for two for the price. Located in a gated community that is very safe. Walking distance to the beach and a 20min drive to San Juan. Google maps couldnât locate the apartment but owners were available to meet us nearby and take us to location. Overall, not a bad stay.
