I’m a repeat customer so that says something right there. The house itself is as amazing as the area. We had peak color & perfect weather. The host was incredibly accessible and should write his own guide book for the area. I will most definitely return in the future

The Prowhouse is an amazing property! It was very easy to communicate with Richard. Beforehand, he sent an tremendous amount of material on best ways to spend time in the area, sights to see, places to eat, things to do with kids, on rainy days, etc. The home had well organized binders of all of that information and more - making it so simple to see and do all that you wanted while staying in down east Maine. The home was comfortable and well equipped. It was more like staying with old friends than renting a home off VRBO. Many thanks to the whole Rose family - it was a pleasure to share in your slice of heaven.

Absolutely wonderful! Property was amazing! View was amazing! All the info from the host was amazing! It didn’t hurt that we had perfect Maine weather either!Only note, bathroom is on the first floor and bedrooms are on the second floor. I did not notice that prior to our stay.Thank you! Would LOVE to come back any time!!

The Prowhouse is the most amazing property. So beautifully designed and such gorgeous views and fun hikes. This was truly the most relaxing vacation I have had! As a librarian I was very impressed with the collection of books at the house. We spent most of our time outside but during the night time hours we were very entertained. Looking forward to going back again.

We had a terrific stay. The house is beautifully decorated with amazing views and landscaping. Great location, super close to Jasper beach. One thing we did not realize, the only bathroom in on the ground floor, with the bedrooms upstairs.

Everything was absolutely amazing! I would recommend the Prowhouse to everyone. My girlfriend and I had a blast for her birthday. The pictures dont do the views justice. BEAUTIFUL!

Everything was perfect. Took a 12 hour drive from NYC, and arriving at a beautiful home felt amazing. Views were wonderful. Rich (owner) was very welcoming had extensive recommendations to do in Maine. Everything was also clean. Definitely recommend staying here!!

The host of this property was more than welcoming and hospitable. They were readily available for any questions and ensured that we enjoyed our stay. The house itself looked like it came straight out of a magazine and the views from both the living room and bedroom were breathtaking. Relaxing and peaceful

The Prowhouse is a beautiful spot to relax and recharge. We appreciated the quiet, the views, and having all that we needed at the house. The hosts are ready with any information you might need for your stay or traveling in the area. Definitely consider this property if you're looking to go to Downeast Maine.

Absolutely Perfect

We LOVED this home, everything about it was so comfortable. We stayed here celebrating our 30th. anniversary and enjoyed every minute. The views are breathtaking, and the grounds are just amazing with endless nature and beauty. Can't wait to stay again.

Can’t say enough good things about the property & the owner. The house itself and the location are both amazing. We had the perfect blend of activity & relaxation. The amount of info that Rich has about the property and the surrounding areas is better than any travel guide out there. I would go back in a heartbeat if given the chance

The information from what to do on the drive up, hiking maps and where to plan dinner during our stay made this experience tops. The house and property are an outdoor enthusiasts to a book readers paradise. This was a suprise trip for my wife who i kept in the dark except for what to bring and how long it will take for travel.

Ahhh…views and more views!

What a fabulous secluded property! Perfect place for my husband and I to comfortably unplug and unwind. We had lots and lots of snow which added to the winter atmosphere. Couldn’t get enough of every sunrise coming up over the ocean. The owner was wonderful to communicate with on every aspect. I wish we had more time to experience the many different places and things that he suggested. Truly a gem of a property.

Stunning home and location

A stunning, peaceful space, creatively designed. We stayed two nights and one day. The house had everything we needed. Gorgeous and cozy space inside. Unbeatable views. The outside is just spectacular. We hiked the trails on the property and down to the beach. Indescribable beauty. The owner provided a wealth of information for places to go outside of the property. We visited a breakfast place on the way out. The restaurant is on a farm, and was outstanding. Loved going here, and will return. Thank you so much for an outstanding stay.

Paradise in Downeast Maine

My family and I had a wonderful stay at Prowhouse. We’ve stayed at many VRBO properties, and this one really stands out. The house and property are exceptional - amazing views over Howard’s Cove with many places to sit to take in the view, several hiking trails on the property, and a beautifully decorated and well equipped home. Before arrival, Rich sent us lots of information about local things to do and places to eat/shop, which really helped us plan our time. I’d definitely recommend a hike along the Cutler Coastal Trail. Mostly though, we enjoyed just relaxing and having family time in complete seclusion in a glorious setting high on the cliff overlooking the water. Many happy family memories were made at Prowhouse and we can’t wait to return.

Magical Property

We loved this property!! The view when you first enter the house is truly jaw-dropping. We mostly hung out at the house for the week and enjoyed the quiet and surrounding beauty the Prow House has to offer. Hiking down to the beach at low tide and hanging out for a few hours watching the tide come in was a particularly fun afternoon. The kitchen was very handy and well equipped as we ate almost all of our meals in. At night there are so many stars visible it's hard to even find constellations. At the end of the week we had a hard time leaving. Thank you Rich and Julie!

Perfection

Sublime. This place is like no other. Every little thing is special. The views, the hikes, the sky, the air, the water, the birds, the trees, the rock.... Every evening, all we wanted to do was sit on that back deck and simply soak it in. The house? Perfect. Clean...no, immaculate, airy, comfy, warm (even when it was sooo cold outside!)....just perfect. What a nice feeling it was knowing we were returning to that house on that road on that cliff at the end of every day. Would go back in a heartbeat!

We looked forward to our week at the Prowhouse for a year and were not disappointed!! Rich and Julie proactively sent us extensive information about the house and the surrounding area to help us make the most of our entire experience. The home was clean, cozy and well stocked with everything we could need. The VIEW…. Amazing Amazing Amazing….. Rich and Julie were always available for any questions or contact information for local culinary adventures… Top notch in every way. The weather was a mixed bag but gave us the opportunity to see all the faces of the view.. Can’t wait to go back next summer!!!

Best view in all of Maine!

If you want a stunning view, complete privacy, and the quintessential Maine experience, this home has it all. Perched on a cliff, with hiking trails surrounding the property this home gives you the “Downeast Maine” vibe. However, the interior of the home has been carefully curated with mid century meets nautical decor and you feel like you have stepped directly into the pages of Architectural Digest. The host was excellent with communication, providing clear directions and a plethora of information regarding activities, restaurants, shops, and instructions. You couldn’t ask for a better house, host, or experience. Wow!!!

Magical getaway

We were blown away by our wonderful stay. The view is insane and makes you never want to leave...but there is plenty to do in the area if/when you do. The property itself was the best we have ever been lucky enough to stay at and will be hard to beat. We would return in a heartbeat. The owners are great. Rich is super responsive and enjoyable to communicate with. I’ve never seen such an organized compilation of helpful information provided to the guests. You’ll understand when you see the notebooks! The data provided ahead of time via email was useful and appreciated too. Rich and Julie’s design prowess is evident in all of the thoughtful touches around the home but the private trails and balconies overlooking the mighty ocean (and extreme tides!) really make it next-level. We are forever fans of the Prowhouse and genuinely hope to return again one day.

Everything we had hoped for and more!

We were looking for a quiet get away spot and we found the perfect place! The Prowhouse was what we had hoped for and much more. The setting is amazing --- along the coast with spectacular views and far from the city lights for lovely star gazing. Rich was the perfect host, attentive to all our needs, great information about the area and things to do to make our trip exactly what we had hoped for (even the offer of a blueberry pie to celebrate my husbands birthday!). The house was perfect - attention paid to every detail, from the furnishings to the well stocked kitchen. We arrived late on a Saturday, having taken Rich's suggestion and drove from Boston to Machias along Rt. 1 - just incredible. The house was welcoming and quickly became our "home" away from home. We visited Campobella, cycling to the light house and enjoyed lobster rolls on Beals Island. The area was perfect to get away and unplug! We finished our week cooking lobster at the Prowhouse while listening to Ella on the vintage stereo. We have memories for a lifetime and thank Rich for his gracious hospitality.
