We loved this little spot! It was a great place to land after our flight. Very close to downtown Alajuela, which meant that we could walk out our door in the morning and find a nice cafe and good food at the Central Market. Our only challenge was that the traffic was quite loud overnight; my partner had a hard time sleeping, even with the provided earplugs. I recommend this location for sure for heavy sleepers.
We were traveling from Jaco to SJO and had a very late flight so we booked the Oasis loft to relax in before needing to be back to SJO. Eve was so accommodating, allowing us to check in early and was willing to hold our luggage if our rental wasnât available in time. She personally picked us up and dropped us off from SJO, showing us the sites and giving us food recommendations. I would 100% book with Eve again!
The property itself is very clean and beautiful! However, the location is extremely noisy at all hours of the night. Ear plugs did not help. Horns/loud engines/dogs fighting/drunken man screamingâŠkept us up the majority of the night. If we had more than one night booked, we wouldâve gone elsewhere. Parking/driving to this spot was also a nightmare. Neighborhood did not feel safe. Positive was that it was close to the airport.
The room was very nice, clean, and located close to the airport. It was not quiet but we expected that and earplugs were provided, which we appreciated. We arrived really late and got an Uber from the airport for about 6. I had received a message from the host in advance explaining that the hot water heater was a bit finicky and we experienced that right away when we arrived. Like many places in Costa Rica the water heater is controlled separately from the water pressure. However, no matter which way we turned either knob, and no matter how long we waited, the water in the shower never got hot. I messaged the host and went to bed without a shower. I woke up in the morning hoping for better luck with the water heater, but that didnât happen so I messaged the host again and she said she would send someone to help. No one ever came and she sent me a message an hour after we checked out saying that her cleaning lady said the water heater was working fineâŠ. Which I know is untrue. We spent seven more nights at multiple different places in Costa Rica and never experienced anything like this.Aside from not having hot water, the room was nice, the curtains blacked out the light really well, and the balcony was beautiful.5/10
