Spacious home with beautiful lake view and access. Fun for adults, children, and pets. Lots of restaurants and shopping all within a 30 to 60 minute drive. Communication with the hosts was never a problem. Very friendly and helpful.
The location is wonderful! Right on a beautiful lake with westward views. The kids loved swimming and kayaking. Also close to Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor. Perfect for a family vacation.
We had a wonderful stay. The home is beautiful and the lake is gorgeous. We had a great time swimming, jumping off the dock, and taking out the kayaks. The hosts were very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions we had. We hope to come back in the future!
This property has fun things to do for kids, adults and dogs of all ages. Water fun galore! Swimming, diving, paddling, canoeing, fishing, wading, sunbathing. Bring your boat and explore beautiful Branch Lake. House is well stocked and furnished.
Perfect vacation spot for our family! The house is clean, spacious, and well-stocked with linens, towels, and kitchen necessities as well as games and lake "toys" (canoe, kayaks, paddle board). The lake is pristine and perfect for swimming, boating, and fishing. The dock with its diving/jumping platform is fantastic fun. Three generations had a great week!
We had a great stay at this house. It was clean and had everything we needed for a week at the lake. The house was well stocked with essentials and cook wear. Our family had a great time at the lake kayaking and paddle boarding. Only a 45 min drive to Acadia made it easy to hike in the morning and get to the lake by the afternoon. The owners were great with communication and extremely accommodating. We will definitely be back!
Best lake house stay! Beautiful location on rarely traveled road. We do these family lake stays with 10 family members every summer and this was the best one yet. Enough water toys for everyone - paddle board, kayaks, canoe, dock and diving platform, beach with kids toys. Such a beautiful location on such a clean lake. Such great evenings around the fire and family meals on big picnic table on the deck. Canât wait till next year!
The property was very well stocked, clean, and accurately described in the advertisement. Management and communication was prompt and professional. I would return to this property in the future without hesitation. Excellent all around! The lake, boating equipment, and dock are terrific.
We had a wonderful time on Branch lake!! The dive platform was huge hit regardless of the weather. I was in awe of the huge lake rocks and how clear the water was. We saw a bald eagle twice and so many fish. The house was a great fit for our large party. The beds were quite comfortable and the showers were exceptional! Canât wait for next year.
We had a great time playing in the water as well as easy access down to Acadia for hiking, running carriage trails, etc. The lake is super clean - it has a small area for little kids and a great platform for our teenagers to jump. The house was well appointed including having everything you need for a lobster dinner for 13 people. The Property Manager was very responsive. A great week overall!
Was looking for a lakefront summer vaca with swimming and boat access and close proximity to Acadia. This fit the bill and more. Enough room for adults, teens, and youngers to have space and also two gathering areas. Outdoor space was perfect with walk in swimming area, seating, and of course the high dive. Owner and property manager responsive. Can't recommend this property enough.
This property was everything we had hoped it would be and even better in person than as advertised. Our group consisted of adults & kids (7-11yr olds) and 2 fury friends. The backyard from the deck to the dock is where we spent most of our time, with the shallow water off the property edge an excellent spot for the kids to swim and adventure. The high jump off the dock was awesome as it's about 25-30' deep there. We also rented a boat from DownEast rentals who were great to deal with, provided a newer Pontoon for the week and the boat launch is directly across the lake (a kayak ride, or 30min car ride around the lake). We had a great week of fishing catching a ton of sunnies & bluegills, but also some awesome small mouth bass, lake trout and even an eel. Lastly, Peter and Jessica were great with communication throughout and helped answer any questions we had. Highly recommend for a nice R&R getaway!
Branch lake is pristine, we enjoyed the lake by kayak, paddle board and swimming, everyone loved the jumping platform. This house has the best water access, a small beach for our 14 month old and 11 year old dog. Great docks for the sunset and swimming. Love the secluded road. The kitchen and living areas of the house were very comfortable and good space for all. We ended up as a group of 8 instead of 11, we really wished the 2nd floor master/futon had a bathroom on that level. Middle of the night (steep)stairway trips, not ideal for older people or small children. 1st floor bath has a tiny shower, that was inadequate for our adult sons, but we made do with heavy traffic in the beautiful basement bath. The oven was broken, and the 1st floor toilet was leaky and did not get repaired during our visit. For large, adult size groups, Queen beds instead of doubles would be a great upgrade.
Once again we had a spectacular vacation at this rental property. We have rented here for many years and each time we have had a the most enjoyable vacations ever. The property is immaculate when we arrive and the property owner is always eager to make sure our stay is everything we could need or want.
The sandy beach lakefront is accessible to all ages. The dock is equipped with a dive platform that provides hours of endless fun for all. There are kayaks, a paddle board and a canoe to use for fishing or just exploring the lake. We especially look forward to watching the sunsets over the lake from the dock. The kitchen is fully equipped and the barbecue grill is great for outside cooking. We ate outside most nights at the picnic table that had ample seating for all 12 of us. There is also a table inside off the kitchen that doubled for us a lunch table and card table. Downstairs has another seating area and bar with easy access to the lake. Rain or shine this property affords magnificent views of Branch Lake and the surrounding mountains. The property is close enough to allow for day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. Ellsworth is very close and has many great restaurants and small shops. There is always something to do at this rental.
We have stayed at many other Vrbo sites over the years and this property is by far the best! The owner is very easy to work with and always wants to ensure we have a great time. We highly recommend this property.
I chose this house for our annual family vacation and it was as a big hit with everyone. We all like being on the water and having a good kitchen to prepare meals. It was a bonus to have watercraft and we used the kayaks and paddle board almost every day. The house is very well appointed so we didnât have to run out for baggies, Kleenex or paper towels. We had everything we needed. A special treat, which I have not experienced in other rentals, was having no chores to do on departure day!
Awesome lakeside house with everything you need. Great access to Branch lake. Plenty of room for two families. We have stayed there back to back summers and had a fabulous time both years.
We have stayed at this property multiple times and every time we find new places to explore and new things to do. The property is well maintained and very clean. It is located close enough to Bar Harbor to make several day trips there. Ellsworth is a quaint New England town with lots of eateries and shops.
This house is ideally located on the lake and the dock with swim perch is perfect for diving. There is a large amount of private shoreline and beach for pets and children to easily access. The house has an open concept design with a large fully stocked kitchen. There are magnificent views of the lake from the dining room, living room, downstairs den, and bar. The owner provides kayaks, canoes, and a paddle board to explore the lake. The canoeing and the kayaks are a great way for several family members to explore the lake together. We enjoyed many family sunset dinners on the outside deck overlooking the waterfront.
Peter and Jessica are extraordinary hosts. They are easy going and very responsive to any and all your needs. It is very nice to have such accommodating hosts. This is a very special property.
beautiful lakeside property. only downside was lots of stairs for us 'older types'. But we managed just fine ! Convenient for visits to nearby Acadia SP and other locations in the East of Maine.
My family and our friends absolutely loved this property! The home was beautiful and we could not of asked for a better location. We thoroughly enjoyed using the kayaks, canoe, paddle board and jumping off the diving platform. We could have enjoyed our vacation without ever leaving the house. But being so close to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park we definitely had to explore. We will definitely be returning!
Very nice house with a cabin feel. The house was very clean, with all the amenities that we needed. Absolutely stunning views, especially the sunsets! We had a great time in a great location. Out of the way enough to not be crowded, close enough to necessities to get there in a short time. The only problem was that the property was so nice that we didn't want to go to Bar Harbor and other attractions as much as I would have liked.
I am currently the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Millenia in Singapore and have been in the hospitality industry for 40 years throughout Europe, Africa, Middle East/Gulf and now Asia. I consider Maine home and will eventually stay there once my career ends. I have another property across the lake as I love the topography, people, fresh air, simplicity, wilderness with key infrastructure at your doorstep along with the incredible charm of the coastal area between Bar Harbor and Camden.
I went to Husson University in Bangor Maine. Having grown up in Europe, I had never seen such pristine wilderness within reach of major infrastructure at an affordable price. I fell in love with the idea of owning a camp on the water immediately and call it home as I travelled the world. I finally found this place on Branch that ticked off all the boxes and over the years, built it from its simple seasonal beginnings into my idea of what a lakeside camp should look, feel like and offer. I wanted a place that was easy to access, close to everything, offer great swimming from the shore yet be able to pull up in a sailboat with a keel, stunning water views, be close to the waters edge, and to top it all off, feel like I was in a very isolated area.
Again, besides the incredible location just off route 1, lake centered, the lot is surrounded by the best homes on the lake, just on the cusp of a small bay overlooking a little private public island. The small beach is ideal for swimming off of and the dive tower offering kids and adults alike hours of entertainment. Mornings are exceptionally tranquil with picturesque sunsets in the evenings. The moments of roasting some marsh-mellows over an open fire at the lakes edge while sipping some wine or enjoying a beer will forever be etched in your memory. I have pulled in Salmon, trout and bass off my dock in the early mornings but mostly enjoy the swimming and snorkeling just off the property. I love boating to the 2 public beaches. One is right across the lake from the property next to a public boat launch and the other at the Southern tip under a bridge next to the dam. There are a few small islands in the Northern end. Branch Lake is essentially a giant well with its deepest point of 124 feet!
