Enjoy stunning Lake Superior views in this clean & modern 1 bedroom condo that is literally steps from the beach! This unit offers everything you could want in a temporary home during your visit to Bayfield. The unit is beautifully renovated throughout and features a comfortable queen-size mattress in the bedroom and comfy living room furniture from which to enjoy the incredible lake views. You'll also be able to enjoy the private balcony overlooking the lake & beach, which are just steps away.
Host Info Your host runs Bark Point Ventures, a vacation rental management & concierge company that specializes in properties all along Lake Superior's South Shore. We live nearby and are available whenever needed to assist our guests. Our passion is ensuring guests experience the magic of what we feel is one of the most amazing places in the world.
Neighborhood Info Located on the beach right in downtown Bayfield. You can walk to a wide range of locally-owned shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums. And yet the condo is set far enough away from the main drag to not feel like you're too in the middle of everything.
Location & Transit Info Bayfield is a very walkable city, so your best bet is on foot. We are just a couple blocks from all the shops and restaurants in downtown Bayfield.
Off street parking in lot for one car. Plenty of street parking available, except during Applefest weekend in October. Less than 15 minute drive to Mt. Ashwabay ski hill, Big Top Chautauqua, hiking trails, beaches, and more.
Public transportation on the peninsula is provided by the Bay Area Rural Transit (BART), more information can be found on their website.
An EV charging station is located in the parking lot on the corner of Washington Ave. and E. 6th St. in Washburn.
The following shuttles and ferries are also accessible on foot from Reiten Boatyard:
- The Madeline Island Ferry will take you out to Madeline Island and runs regularly during the late spring, summer, fall, and much of the winter. - The BART Bus runs regularly through Bayfield and around Chequamegon Bay for a modest fee. - Big Top Chautauqua runs shuttles for most of for their concerts and events.
Details of the Space This second (top) floor 1 bedroom freshly updated unit features an open plan kitchen-dining-living space that opens up to your own private and spacious double-sized balcony overlooking the lake (perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails). The living and dining area has a comfy couch and table seating for 4 - situated to enjoy views of the lake during the day and tv or a movie at night. The kitchen is clean and modern and features a 2-burner glass-top stove (no oven), apartment-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, air fryer and a coffee maker. This unit is beautifully modern, clean, and very comfortable thanks to the updated fixtures and thoughtfully laid out furnishings. There is a small hide-a-bed sofa in the living room with a memory foam mattress that can accommodate 1 additional adult or 2 small children. While the pictures do show a loft, please note that it is unavailable for guest use due to fire code restrictions.
The condo is located an easy walk to Bayfield's myriad charming shops & restaurants as well as the ferry to Madeline Island. It's also a perfect jumping off point to all of the incredible things to see & do throughout the greater Chequamegon Bay area.
One of our favorite features is the wonderful community garden that is adjacent to the condo building. There's few better places in the warmer months to enjoy a book or just take in the gorgeous flowers & plants in this "secret garden" setting.
The unit also features a rarity in the area: air conditioning, as well as high-speed wifi and cable tv. Non working fireplace-ornamental only.

Property Notes Be aware that sound and vibration travel easily in this building. Please be considerate of your neighbors and keep voices and TV levels down and please walk softly on stairway as well as inside the condo. Smoking of any kind, including e-cigs, is strictly prohibited either in or outside the condos or anywhere on the premises. The fireplace is ornamental only. The stove top has a small crack in it but works great yet. Just a fyi. There is a small hide-a-bed sofa in the living room with a memory foam mattress that is best suited for a child. While the pictures do show a loft, please note that it is unavailable for guest use. There are 2 picnic tables and 2 weber grills available for use by guests and residents of all units. Bike racks are also available by the parking lot. "As much as we love dogs, canine guests are NOT allowed at this property. We're happy to help you locate a dog-friendly rental should you require one."
Smoking (of any tobacco product, including vaping) is not allowed anywhere on the property.
All walkways and staircase areas must be free of coolers, bikes, etc, during your stay.

We had a great trip to Bayfield and this location was perfect. It was exactly what we expected and Erin was a great host, checking in on us to make sure we had what we needed. I would stay here again and tell my friends!

Fall Getaway
Easily accessible, great location, quiet and comfortable! Nice private balcony facing Lake Superior with great kitchen amenities. Erin/Property Management checked in with us and replied very promptly to a request we made. If you’re looking for a quiet retreat after a day of exploring, this is your place. Highly recommend!

Didn’t have access to the loft. Not allowed to use fireplace.No directions for the microwave. Got only 3 washcloths for a 4 day stay for 2 people. Nice place overall. We really enjoyed the rest of our stay

Hello, we are glad you enjoyed some aspects of your stay, but we do need to point out that the listing clearly states that the loft is off limits (due to lodging code restrictions) and that the fireplaces are ornamental only. We would have happily brought you any additional towels you needed if you have only reached out during your stay. That is what we provide the guest service phone number for. We also could have helped you with the microwave if you needed it.

At the risk of being flagged by property mgmt. we’re giving our stay a 3 out of 5. The property was as described, clean, beautiful view of the bay, and communication with property mgmt. was prompt. Maybe this is a known fact; new to us: The unit owner has their own code for the unit, separate from the renter’s code. Later in the evening we heard what sounded like someone trying to enter our unit. The owner of the unit punched in his code and entered our unit while we were there, saying he had reserved the unit for that day. It was a scheduling misunderstanding which left us feeling a bit unsettled. We checked out the next morning without incident. Communication with Erin was prompt saying they would sort it out.

Sharleen, we don't blame you for not being happy about the owner letting himself in, as we weren't happy about it either. That said, it has never happened before and it won't happen again as we have spoken with the owner, who was embarrassed about not realizing his mistake (he had it reserved for the following night instead), and I highly doubt he would want that embarassment again himself. We are sorry that this incident outweighed the positives of your rental experience. Take care!
