Built in 1840, on the 7-acre site of Springfield Furnace, this large house has great amenities. Take a one minute walk and visit craft brewery Cobblehaus Brewing Company with vast outdoor views including a waterfall.
There are 3 large king size bedrooms. All baths and kitchen are brand new.
Cobblehaus is as promised - a historic home with all the modern amenities. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the adjacent Brewery and the beautiful landscaping overlooking a waterfall and creek.
A very charming property with plenty of room to move around. Visiting the next-door brewery with its beautiful waterfalls was a bonus. My daughter just finished up her time at Slippery Rock University. I wish Iâd found this place sooner. We wouldâve stayed there every time we went to visit.
Great place. Excellent walking and waterfall. Beautiful area next to a super brewery. Landscaping/mowing around the house needs a lil help but I would definitely go again and recommend to others
We really enjoyed our stay! The home is a really neat space with so much character. There is a trail to the brewery behind the property. We wish we would have been staying longer than 2 nights!
We stayed for our sonâs wedding at Iron Mills Farm. The amount of space was perfect. The house is old colonial and roomy.
Being beside the brewery and the waterfall was an extra bonus.
This is 4.5 stars but you can't do half stars! What a lovely house! Spacious! The bedrooms are large and separated enough for privacy but not so much as to be difficult for families with kids. The house is well appointed with new applicances and a very cute modern kitchen and big updated bathrooms. Lots of amenities like TVs in the living room and main bedroom. Accoutrements abound for families with littles. Lots of dining space with a lovely table in the kitchen and dining room. This is a restored home from 1840 and you can somewhat feel that. It does have its peccadillos - creaky floors and stairs, old windows, lower ceilings in the bedrooms BUT the I think the charm of the original wood on the floors (a couple still have their historic painting!) and the big first floor rooms very much outweigh those "little sins". It was close to our activities for the weekend but yet "out of the way" enough to be quiet. The grounds are amazing! There are short trails to walk and a waterfall to see. Keep in mind, the house does share its property with a brewery that does get pretty crowded on the weekends but there's reserved parking for the house guests and the brewery does close by 9 (I believe) and you can't really hear it from the house. I may not have read the description well enough to see it stated there but I'm not sure I knew about the brewery sharing parking with the house so folks will be walking and congregating (just a bit) near to the front of the house.
We had 4 adults (seniors) and we stayed 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The Iron Master House is a beautifully restored historic house with everything we needed for a great relaxing stay. And the waterfalls and brewery right there on the property were added bonuses. We had "Brots and Tots" from the food truck at the brewery one night and if was delicious! We took walks, played cards and games and visited some local attractions (outlet mall, Playthings Etc. and Volant Mills). There were also a lot of local restaurants close by to choose from. All and all we had a great stay and look forward to going back.
The historical house is perfect; full of charm coupled with all the modern conveniences! My husband and 3 adult children had more than enough room! A short walk away, at the end of the property, is a brewery that overlooks the waterfall. Donât let that concern you⊠we had total privacy from the brewery patrons. In fact, the brewery doesnât open until 3 so for most of the day you have this magical property and waterfall all to yourself. Thank you, Chuck, for being an attentive host and for maintaining this historical property so meticulously!!
Everyone in my group was VERY PLEASED with this VRBO. It's an OLD house - very cool. Kitchen is updated, baths are updated. We did not cook, but it seems like the kitchen has everyithing you would need. Still has the beautifully painted old flooring and the exquisite woodwork that you do not find anywhere today. The house is very clean and we all found the beds (3 king beds) comfortable. My brother in law loved the piano (he said it was in tune).
The house is kid friendly. There is a high chair, plug covers, child locks on all of the kitchen cupboards and drawers. The stairs have gates installed if you need them. That, I think, is an awesome extra in a VRBO.
The host is available and answers quickly whenever you need him. I only had a couple questions for him.
The grounds are beautiful. It is next to a microbrewery - which had excellent beers. You should really make time to visit it (the have drinks for non beer people too).
BUT if you don't want that, you should really try to walk to the falls which are just behind the brewery. I wish I had time to walk the grounds a little more to see it all.
It is also very close drive to many places to eat.
We were in town visiting cousins and I would not hesitate at all to stay here again. In fact, I will look again when visiting and hopefully it will be available.
Our friends and family had a great time. The house and grounds are beautiful. Close to our sonâs college and the Brew house was a perfect gathering spot for all of our friends and families. We had beautiful weather which made it even better. Chuck and his wife weee great hosts. Highly recommend!
Charming 1800's house, comfortable accommodations, large supportive beds, oversized bathrooms, well equipped kitchen and very large dining room. I stayed here with 5 other women and we had plenty of room to spread out after a long day of shopping. If you love vintage houses and creaky floors this place is for you! We will be back!
