My family and I had a really nice stay at the beach house. The house was clean upon arrival and the location was really nice for easy access to the beach.
We are looking forward to next year.
A cozy home that is literally right on the beach - two lovely beachfront master bedrooms each with a balcony. The owner was readily available with any questions we had. We very much enjoyed our stay and are planning to come back.
We are in our 22nd year of going to Tower Shores for our family beach week. This was our first time staying at this property and we were very pleased! The house was clean and accommodated our family extremely well. The owners were very easy to work with and the bedrooms and living spaces are bright and beachy! We will be back!
We were right on the beach. Could watch dolphins, pelicans and osprey right from the deck. Owners were quick to answer questions before we got there and when we were at the condo. Well equipped kitchen. Quiet and family oriented.
This condo on the beach is lovely as advertised. We love love love the location right on the beach. The owners communicated efficiently and promptly. Check in and out were easy (no long list of to dos on exit, which was a relief with kids). We did supply our own linens and toiletries, which is key to know in advance. We stayed one family of four with two young kids and two grandparents and everyone was pleased. We enjoyed the Mattâs Fish Camp restaurant a short walk away. Overall a great stay on the beach!
Amazing views. Literally step onto the beach from the back deck. Comfortable, family and kid friendly. Well equipped kitchen. Chairs, umbrellas, toys, books, games, movies, etc... available. Super easy check in and out (not a property management company.) Owner easily accessible (again- not a property management company.)
Awesome locationThe house inside was very dated old furniture not professionally cleaned a lot of little things that could be fixed no locks on bathrooms. Paint peeling outside. Just needs a little TLC and would be a five star
We stayed here during a surprise birthday weekend for my wife. The condo is the quintessential "beach house". Whitewashed walls and ceilings, decks on every floor. It was amazing! We brought more adults than recommended (7), but had an air mattress to make things comfortable for everyone. We all left the place saying we needed to do this every year, so I would say it was a success. Thanks again.
Pros of the house: owners are so easy to contact via text and helpful with questions.
Location is amazing. Right on the beach, and its a private beach so only residents/renters of that area. After seeing the crowds by the boardwalk, we were so happy to have our own space. 3 parking spots - important for us so this was great. Park just a few steps away - was nice for us with young kids. Private and quiet and we very easily drove and ubered to both Bethany and Rehobeth boardwalks. Views are beautiful from the back decks.
Cons of the house:
Flies everywhere when we got in. It was gross. It took about 4 days of hunting these flies and constant swatting for it to calm down. Owner told me where fresh fly catching strips were but it was frustrating as we couldnât enjoy meals as much until Thursday of our week long stay. We own a shorehouse and have been to many others so I do not think this was a result of just being at the beach.
Broken screens on the screened in porch as well as 3rd floor balcony. Probably one of the reasons for the flies. The broken screens were really disappointing because we couldn't keep the sliding doors open.
Overall the house needs TLC and updating. Little things like toilet seat on 3rd floor lining is worn down. Broken chair on balcony. Couch had a LOT of stains.
Was not that clean when we got there, cleaning crew needs to be better.
The house has amazing bones and we really did enjoy our stay but for the price would not return without changes.
The house was super clean when we got there and a good fit for our family of five. The kitchen had all the supplies needed, there were beach chairs and a working umbrella, and having the ocean in the back made for a great stay. That extra parking spot is also a great perk. Overall, a great place to stay in a fantastic location!
This was such a beautiful, relaxing location, I went with a group of friends and wanted a beachside house and that is exactly what I got. There are also really lovely views of the ocean (and balconies) from both the master bedrooms. We had an amazing time, everything was very clean, and the hosts were very prompt responders to any questions. Also, the bedroom with the bunk beds and the full bed has a folding partition wall that can turn it into 2 separate rooms if you need another separate bedroom (we didnt, but this is still cool). Would definitely book again.
The property is in a great location and it's nice to have a third parking space. The house was a good size for our group of 6 and the host very responsive when we had some problems with appliances. The kitchen was well stocked and we liked the updated living room.
We really enjoyed our stay! Everything was clean and the location can't be beat. The beach is so nice in that area. The house had everything you could need. I would definitely stay there again.
First, we need to mention that the owners are awesome. They are truly focused on your every need and are very quick to reply with any questions. The entire process of doing our research, booking the property, to check-in and check-out, was effortless. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay perfect.
Second, the views from the property are even better than the pictures. You have a breathtaking ocean view from all levels, but the views from the 2nd floor and 3rd floor Master bedrooms (both from the room and on the balconies/decks) are stunning.
The owner has done a nice job with updates and upgrades to the property.
The house was very clean and even though you are literally RIGHT on the beach, with sand coming practically up to your door, there was no sand in the property at all.
This part of the beach is a private beach so it is very quiet. To your left is a state park which can get a little busy with fishermen but they are very respectful and honestly they keep all the annoying people away on that side. Walk down the beach to your right and depending on the time of day, you may not even see anyone.
We walked to Matt's Fish Camp Restaurant multiple times (highly recommend), and Big Chill Beach Club (amazing views, mostly bar type food, good crushes, and you can drive or walk there about a mile on the beach). We didn't go to one of our favorite spots this trip, but we highly recommend Bluecoast Seafood Grill as well, which is a short 5 min drive.
There are a number of beach chairs and umbrellas for your use. The chairs are a little worn, so bring your own if you are picky, but they worked out fine for us.
Overall if you're looking for a quiet beach around the Bethany/Rehoboth area, not near boardwalks/people/nonsense, with amazing views, where you can be on the beach the second you walk out the door.... this is the spot.
We had a great long weekend. Wonderful beachfront property- really appreciated the extra parking spot! Valerie was very attentive and responsive- excellent host
You really can't ask for a better location. You walk down a few steps and you've got sand between your toes. There is a nice screened in porch and clear views of the sunrise from three levels. Overall the house needs to be freshened up and the beach gear is needs to be replaced. One thing I noticed was that there were pockets of clutter. But despite the few negatives we are still planning on renting this house next year.
My friends and I had an amazing time. This house is lovely and in a great quiet neighborhood. Its super close to Bethany and Dewey beaches. We enjoyed a game of beach volleyball which brought other neighbors to play. Ate lunch everyday on the porch and evening's on the screened in porch. Its right on the beach so you dont have to drag stuff far...which the owners provided! The owners were super responsive and accommodating.
The beachfront location was wonderful! The beach is very nice as well. There is a nice restaurant within walking distance. We appreciated the boogie board and sand toys to use. We ended up renting our own umbrella and beach chairs since the umbrella and all but one chair was broken.
The garbage cans were overflowing when we arrived (it's the first thing you see when you pull in) so it probably wasn't the best welcome. Inside, the kitchen was well appointed. I appreciate having things like sponges and spices in a rental. The decor was beachy and we appreciated the many games and books. The couch cushions were well used and faded with some tears in the fabric.
Unfortunately it felt like the home was not professionally cleaned (except for bands on the toilet saying they were sanitized.) There was sand on the kitchen floor, the front and back entrance rugs, and on a bedspread when we arrived. When we swept the following day I found nerds candy (not ours), a dental pick, a loofah, and lots of sand.
The master bedspread was stained and had holes in it. The 2nd floor curtains had rust stains from the sliding door. The curtains in the master were half hung. The hot water consistently ran out before we were done with our showers. These things don't affect the quality of time you spend with your loved ones, but it was disappointing. It felt evident that the home is not the most well maintained (especially compared to the neighboring homes.)
The owner was responsive. (This was the first time I have ever had to contact an owner or management company for a rental.) I wish the garbage schedule was better articulated.
The amount charged for 6.5 days was a splurge for us (family of 3.) I think if I were in my 20s with a group of friends I wouldn't care about any of this, but in my late 30s with a family, in the middle of a global pandemic, it left me wanting.
Bottom line: great beach location. Nice home. Not luxurious. I would go back to that beach community but look for another home to rent for the money.
Back in 2007 my wife and 2 children started looking for a beach house to grow some memories with our family. We were not looking at ocean front originally but during our search we decided to stretch our legs on the beach of this community and fell in love. We contacted an agent right away and they said nothing was for sale. So we found another who sent out letters to each of the 18 units to see if someone was interested in selling and here we are! This is an extremely special place!
