This spot is a conveniently located zen abode! Two queen beds in two separate rooms as well as a spacious living room (with a couch bed). You'll have a TV in each space. Living room and kitchen flow together to create a happy space to relax. You'll find the kitchen is stocked with everything you need (including coffee!) The island in the kitchen is perfect for an after beach snack or a glass of wine following a downtown adventure! An outside firepit and dining area are surrounded by a fence and offer an additional place to chill. Youll enjoy this historic high ceiling home previously used as a community gathering place and market. Your driveway will be perfect for any size trailer. The best part is the beach is 10 minutes away!! Downtown Charleston is only about a 15 min drive too! This gem is becoming an increasingly popular spot to land for a fantastic home away from home.
My husband and I stayed here for a whole week. The rest of my family camped at James Island County Park and we was very close to them so it worked out great!!!! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!
We had a great stay and the house was very convenient to the highway and anything we wanted to do. It is also very close to restaurants, coffee shops, and a grocery store.
We only stayed the night, but the house is in a great location. Itâs really close to everything on James Island but itâs tucked away in a quiet area. It was really easy to find, easy check in, and the place was very clean. The bed was really comfortable. It was exactly what we needed for a night with an infant. Would definitely stay here again!
Overall, it was a decent stay, but there were some issues worth noting. The house was mostly clean and decently stocked, and the host was very responsive and communicative, which we appreciated. However, there were food crumbs and raisins all over the pull-out couch, and sheets but no blankets were provided for it. When we arrive, two hours after the listed check-in time, someone was still at the house getting it ready, which felt unprofessional and left us feeling awkward. There was a large stack of the hostâs packages in the middle of the living room. Also, the listing photos were quite misleading and appeared heavily edited. This place has potential, especially with a few improvements in cleanliness and accuracy of the listing.
Very easy drive to downtown and Folly Beach. Open concept is very nice. Only 1 bathroom, but we didn't mind sharing. Host was very easy to communicate with and very helpful. Nice backyard area to sit and relax. Plenty of parking.
We enjoyed our stay while in Charleston to see the Southern Living Idea House. The house had a GREAT location close to attractions, interstate, downtown and restaurants. Beds were comfy and we loved the fenced in yard for our dog.
We chose the Teal Door because of the proximity to all wedding festivities and the fact that it was dog friendly. The enclosed backyard was handy for the pup to get some stress free outside time. Was a great home base for 4 adults and although the beds were squeaky, they were surprisingly comfortable. We would definitely stay again if we found ourselves headed to Charleston.
Had all the amenities one would expect and then some. Place was clean, beds and furniture were comfortable, well equipped, nice fenced yard, quiet area, felt secure during the week and host was most accommodating. Internet was sporadic the first day and you could add some tongs to kitchen tools. Other acutraments were a nice touchâŠie. baby wipes, stroller, etc.
The venue is very clean and well outfitted. Outside the house looks like an old block building. But inside the rooms are renovated; the furniture is new and clean; the kitchen has new appliances; the bathroom is modern and the shower is forceful and refreshing! We enjoyed our stay!
Poor Experience: Bugs, Dirty Linens, and Plumbing Issues
We were really looking forward to our stay, but unfortunately, this property did not meet basic expectations for cleanliness or comfort. The bathtub would not drain, making showers difficult and unpleasant. Even more concerning, there were black and red ants constantly coming into one of the bedrooms, especially under our kidsâ beds. It was unsettling and made it impossible for them to sleep there safely. The other guest bed had two large, oily stains on the sheets, which clearly had not been changed or cleaned before our arrival. Because of the bug issue and the dirty linens, two adults and two kids had to squeeze into a full-size bed, which was extremely uncomfortable. While the location is convenientâclose to the beach and other amenitiesâthe lack of cleanliness and maintenance made it very hard to enjoy our stay. Sadly, we would not return and do not recommend this rental in its current condition.
Close to classic Charleston spots, & still quiet despite nearby main roads, this cozy renovation feels so open because of high ceilings & plenty of natural light.
We loved the place, quiet neighbourhood, close to the facilities, close to the beach, Charleston and many activities. Comfy beds and everything we need to cook.
One of the best STR experiences weâve ever had in the 10 years weâve been coming to CHS. Awesome host and awesome space and convenient for everything we wanted to do. Perfect for my little family.
Nice little house with everything that you need for a stay. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Very quiet and nice neighborhood. Easy access to all the attractions in Charleston.
This 2 bedroom stands out with plenty of space for you to stretch out. The front yard has a large driveway for toys and the back yard is fenced in with a firepit. Convenient to the beach and downtown!
