The house and the property was a great place to stay while we skied at Gore. The house is cozy, has everything you need including a crockpot. Dick was helpful. We would defiantly stay here again.
We had a lovely time at this property. It has lots of room to spread out and relax, it is SO close to Gore Mountain for skiing, and the creek out back and pond out front was so scenic.
terrific property location......a brook and a large pond. perfect for kids...ages 6-10. the kids could have adventures on their own, plenty of space to roam around. fees were a bit much but we blame that on vrbo. a great family experience.
Great place. Spacious, great location and wonder ful manager to deal with. Only downside was water pressure issues and some bed comforts. But overall, canât wait to go backđ
We stayed here with our family of two adults and four kids ages 4 to 9. The pond was perfectly accessible for wading or swimming out. The beautiful creek was also an added wonder! My kids love water, so this was the perfect place! The home itself was also beautiful and spacious, allowing plenty of room for a family of six. Thank you for such lovely accommodations!. We had a fantastic week.!
This was the perfect property for all 10 of us - Grandparents, 2 kids and spouses and 4 great grandchildren. The grandkids ranged from 3 - 6 and the beach was prefect for them to swim.
Property was clean and ready on time and well stocked with everything we needed to make meals. Appreciated the gas grill and fire pit. I think the best comment came from the two older grandkids who were talking a couple of days after they got home, and they both agreed they wished they were still at the cabin. Already Looking for dates for next year. Really enjoyed ouseleves.
Our stay was fantastic. We did have to do a little tidying up and purchasing of cleaning supplies, but it wasn't bad. The accommodations were comfortable and the bedroom arrangements were convenient. My only draw back was the lack of mattress covers. Its really hard to sleep in a strange bed thats not protected.
The location was everything. The stream and small pond were beautiful and the kids enjoyed both. It was nice to get away in a safe place where the kids could just explore.
The cabin itself was fantastic and rustic.
This place was a Godsend for our Family (two daughters/spouses and 5 Grandchildren)!! Had last minute issues with our Family place at Schroon Lake so it was a last minute booking. Dick D. was super accomodating and really loved sharing details about the property and even showed us the Beach House on Twilight Pond if we ever needed for extra guests. This place was just magical! It was very reminiscent of the Adirondack Great Camp style and probably on par with some that are considered Grand Camps in our Great Adirondack Park. The spring fed pond was just beautiful, and the paddleboats really brought a lot of excitement and joy to the grandkids experience. All within Adult view... Built in babysitting, if ya catch my drift! Imagine a babbling brook right next to the Lodge where you can actually hear it Babbling... Unbelievably Calming!!! Great Firepit surrounded by Adirondack Chairs for for smores and Guitar Koom By Ya!!! This place is a real Charmer and feels like an Artist Retreat for you Creative Types... Just Book It!!! J&H
The setup was wonderful, pond and creek picturesque, and the house had all the furnishings we needed for cooking and entertainment with lots of space for everyone. Unfortunately the house needs a lot updating and deep cleaning in order to be anywhere near worth what was paid to stay here for a weekend. We killed dozens of flies, cleaned cobwebs and I kid you not the roof leaked in two places when it was raining right into the main dining room so we had to use bowls and towels. There was a lot of mildew and must, so much so that one in our party could not stay there for more than a night. The sulfur egg smell was pretty rough for the one quick shower I had, doing dishes was okay and we brought lots of drinking water so we used that for cooking/coffee/tea as well.
The host was amazing and very attentive and the property beautiful, unfortunately there was nothing that could be done about the things that we did not expect to encounter so we made do and had a great time for the most part but the place needs some major TLC to live up to the price, listing and expectation that I feel was set.
The house itself is dated but was very clean and has beautiful views. We specifically booked a house with 4 bedrooms only to come to find out once we got here that one bedroom was unavailable due to mold problem. I spoke with the owner prior to arrival to go over any check in procedures and she failed to mention this. We have an infant and 3 young children and needed the extra bedroom and would have liked to be told about mold. Also, lots of the dining room chairs are very rickety as well as the railing on the upper level. We canât help but feel a little slighted by the lack of communication.
We rented the main house and guest house for a ski trip with our kids and some of their college friends. Upon arrival, the place was spotless! There was plenty of room for sleeping and hanging out. Guest house was also perfect. Kitchen was well stocked. Gore mountain very close also convenient to supermarket and a few restaurants. Only minor issue was inconsistent water pressure which is not unusual in ski / lake houses like.this. Would definitely rent again
Loved our stay in February, very close to skiing at Gore. House had enough supplies in the kitchen to make it easy for us to cook for the 7 of us who stayed. (There is not much in the way of restaurants in the area, especially open mid-week.) Vasili was quick to answer any questions I had, accessing the house was a breeze, and everything went smoothly during our stay.
We enjoyed a long weekend here with our children, grandchildren and grand dog. Perfect place for them to romp and roam. The pond was and creek were focal points. House has an open layout and very kid friendly. It's not a fancy place as furniture is well worn but comfortable. It is very close to Gore Mountain and North Creek. It met our family needs. Owner was easy to communicate with, checking and out was simple.
We vacationed at the Lodge for a week. There were six adults and four children (aged 2 -- 10), and we had plenty of space. The great room, screened porch (with an extra fridge), and especially the yard and beach area were great. As other reviewers have mentioned, the setting is wonderful - beautiful woods, private, and well kept. We were blessed with perfect weather all week, so there was swimming in the pond every day, and the paddle boats got a lot of use. Great place for kids to play. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware, utensils, and dishes (some of the knives were pretty dull though). The lodge was rustic, and a bit worn in some places, but all in all quite comfortable and "easy to live in." Definitely an excellent place for a family vacation.
Such a picturesque setting homes were clean and ready by check in. Dick, the manager; was very pleasant and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and very homey.
We had a mix of grandparents, parents and two young children. They loved the sandy beach at the pond and the swings. My personal favorite was taking an Adirondack chair down by the creek amd just sitting taking in the sights and sounds of nature.
We will be back!
We stayed at the property July 30-August 4th. Two rather serious issues need immediate attention. The ceiling in the guesthouse had noticeable water damage and an area of mold directly over a bed. As you know, mold can be a serious health concern to some individuals. Additionally, the plumbing under the kitchen sink was leaking and a basin (unbeknown to us) had been placed there. It nearly overflowed and disgusting gray water had to be emptied by my mother. While staying, we notified the caretaker Dick about these issues. We would never expect to encounter such disrepair and a health concern at a property that we spent over $6000 to rent. An adjustment certainly is expected. We have photo documentation if required.

Enjoyed it for a few days of skiing. Everything was as pictured and described. The owners were pleasant to deal with and responded promptly. Took off one star due to some lights not working and a couple missing dimmer switch knobs. All in all a good place to stay.
Just a few minutes to Gore, so location was perfect. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the water situation. If 2 ppl flushed the toilets within a few minutes of each other, you have to wait until the tank refilled to take a shower with pressure....other than that great house and location.
The setting is idyllic: we particularly liked the creek running behind the house. The location is very close to Gore mountain which was very convenient for skiing. The house itself is well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. The layout is spacious and there's plenty of room. The host is extremely responsive, which is really a huge help. Just a great spot that checks all the boxes.
really comfortable , peaceful.. had grea~~t time here.. beautiful pond and tree, leave's color change.... awesome.
at night, in the sky , all stars.. great~ great~
We were all in love with the place/property. It was exactly as described and we had everything we needed. We all loved how well stocked the kitchen was with utensils/dishes, etc. We are hoping to rent this again next summer!
The property was in a remote location and was perfect for an escape to nature. The place was big enough to house my large family of 8 adults, 2 children, and 3 big dogs. The pond was great for swimming, fishing, and paddle boating.
I was raised in the mainland of Greece in the Mountainous Region called Epirus. The stone home in which I was born was situated on the foothills of my small town surrounded by deep green Mountains and looking out into a wide deep valley where River Aos flows into. I always had the feeling that the beauty of my small town was unique. When I moved to the US as a 10 year old boy I was immersed into the life of NYC which was stimulating and educational. It was not until I became 36 years of age that I took an active interest in exploring the Adirondacks along with my 21 year old station wagon and my Black Labrador George. We would sleep in the car by the banks of Rivers or camp in the various campsites. These mountains filled me with excitement, a sense of Wonder and peace. I can say with confidence that they did the same for George :) 15 years later and three properties later, I still feel the same. The uniqueness of my love for these Mountains is made special for me because it is coupled with the ability to offer my properties there to other people that come up and hopefully get to experience similar feelings.
It is impossible to do drive by this property and not stop, get out of the car and say Wow! The house was built in 1991 and we still have the photo album of when it was being built. Great care was given to use the best material for its construction. The crystal clear pond is Spring fed by clean water constantly from the Creek and the sandy beach is just a delight.
The uniqueness of this property becomes apparent immediately when you arrive at the quiet setting and drive adjacent to this magnificent Pond and take in the view of the house, the Creek, the swing set, the bonfire pit, the log cabin and the warm new log house. Swim in the fresh water pond or paddle boat and aim for the two islands. You take a deep breath knowing that you are free in the privacy of this setting.
