The Live Oak House is family friendly in a quiet area 2 blocks from the beach

Welcome to The Live Oak House in Port O'Connor (POC), Texas. We offer a newly renovated 4 bedroom, 2 bath home with a large back yard, shaded by centuries old Live Oak trees. Downstairs offers two bedrooms, a full bath and laundry room. The queen bedroom has a TV and sliding doors that open onto the lower patio. The 2nd ground floor bedroom has two twin beds and a television. Upstairs offers two more bedrooms and a second full bath. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes and pots and pans plus basic kitchen items including spices and coffee. The living room has a large, very comfortable sectional couch and a smart tv equipped with a Roku.

The upstairs deck has plenty of outdoor seating and the downstairs outdoor area has a spacious covered gathering and dining area with gas fire pit, gas barbeque and a large picnic table.

The house is equipped with central heat and AC upstairs and new mini-splits downstairs. Wifi is included and both bathrooms offer full size tub/shower combos.

The house is within walking distance of King Fisher Beach or Boggy nature preserve. Two boat ramps are available in town: The POC Fishing Center (pay per use) and Froggie's Bait Dock (free public use). Shop at Sisters boutique or Joe Beths for fun and beachy clothes and gifts or head over Jecos or The POC Rod and Gun Club for everything a fisherman needs for the great fishing POC is famous for. Speedy Stop and Dollar General are nearby local convenience stores for last minute needs or you can head on over to HEB in Port Lavaca (20 minute drive) to stock up. There are also two fully stocked liquor stores in town.

Josies Mexican Food is a POC institution and offers a full bar plus a full delicious menu and live music on the weekends. 5 D's Steakhouse is a newer addition to POC offering great steaks and a cool music venue that has featured Diamond Rio, Kevin Fowler, Bellamy Brothers and many other talented acts. Sharky's has great burgers and cold beer and other watering holes include Maddens, The Office  and Huricane Junction.

Port O'Connor has a great laid back vibe and fishing opportunites including a large fishing pier and the jetties to try your luck at catching Red Drum, Black Drum, Sheepshead, Trout, sharks and countless other species. Come to POC for the fishing and stay for the fun.
