Great stay

The property met all of our needs for an extended work stay which was almost two months in duration. Jason was an incredibly helpful host that was very responsive whenever we had questions. The property is located very close to a train station that can take you into Manhattan.

Very comfortable apartment and super convenient to subway!

We had a great stay with our 10 and 12 year olds. Went to Manhattan four full days without a problem. Jason was really helpful during our stay and always available if we had questions. The apartment was great to come back to after long days in the city.

Amazing bargain for a wonderful jewel

My family of 5 stayed here for a week and it was fantastic! Jason is wonderful to work with and speedy to reply to all correspondence. The apartment is quite spacious, cozy and very clean. We loved our stay, the neighborhood was charming and you cannot beat the 3 minute walk to the subway. Whenever we come back, we will definitely stay here again

This property definitely exceeded our expectations. The location is safe and quiet, you are literally right next the the subway, everything you need is within a few minute walk, the apartment is great, everyone is awesome. This is a 10 star property in Brooklyn.

Great Place to Stay!

This apartment was extremely clean and comfortable. It truly was a home away from home. All appliances, sleeping supplies, and even extra toiletries were available for those who forget something. Great price too, and conveniently located next to the subway station! Jason, his mother Elizabeth, and George the maintenance man were all very welcoming and responsive to our needs. Jason was even kind enough to send our daughter's laptop to us after she left it there. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect place to stay in NYC

It is a pleasure to recommend this great affordable apartment. We are a family of 5 with 3 kids ages 6 11 and 13. The location is perfect just 2 min walk from A train. Lots of parking in the area. The apartment has everything you need it looks like new and is cozey and super clean. Jason was so amazingly nice and helpful and went out of his way to be nice. We loved every minute and we will recommend it to all our friends.

Beautiful

We really enjoyed our stay. The apartment was fully loaded with all the things we could possibly need. Jason was amazing. Very informative and polite. Train station to NYC is a 3 minute walk and very easy to get back from the city also. VERY quiet neighborhood and great restaurants in the area. I recomend peachies. Jason we appreciate you and look forward to staying again soon.

Wonderful!

My family spent a wonderful month at Jason's property. The apartment was spacious, immaculately clean and contained everything a family might need for a stay. Check-in and check-out was very smooth and Jason went above and beyond to welcome us in person and ensure we had everything we needed. Jason is extremely responsive and went out of his way to ship my son's laptop to us which we accidentally left behind. The property itself is a very short walk from the subway and the train into Manhattan was very convenient (via the A and C train).

good stay , a wonderful apartment not fault it's perfect very large there is all really very happy disposition . I definitely recommend it . It is not far from the metro manahtann it's very fast . Jason is really our service. Very good stay happy to have been lodged in this establishment

Wonderful Experience Wonderful Hosts

The apartment was exactly as described on the web-site, it has a lovely authentic and cosy feel to it. Jason and his very talented mother Elizabeth were wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect a 3 min walk to the main A line subway and you are in the centre of Manhattan in 25 minutes. Several very good restaurants near by. My wife and I would certainly recommend The Reading Room to anyone who wants an apartment that is immaculate, beautifully presented with a friendly welcome. Thank you Jason we will be back someday.

Great Stay!

I had a great stay at the reading room. Jason was a great host. It is a great and safe location. We were traveling with a toddler so location was important to us. It was a very easy trip into the city. Only thing is to be mindful that you may have cell phone reception issues. Our carrier is ATT and we had a hard time getting cell phone service. It didn't bother me much, because I wanted a break from my devices anyway. Overall great stay.

Great Experience for a first timer

I have always booked hotels when traveling. Since a small group of family members were tagging along, I decided to look into an owner property as an option. After exploring and pulling the trigger on this property, I have to say that I was very happy to have done so. The property was clean, cozy and comfortable. It had all the amenities I would find in my own home and the owner was pro-active and making sure all was well while we were there. I would and will look to this property again the next time I am in NYC. Thanks Jason!

Our wonderful stay in Brooklyn

We, as in 4 adults stayed in Jason's property in Brooklyn, we loved it!! The apartment was big, spacious, neat tidy, very clean. Jason provided everything we needed, we did not want for anything. It is only a walk down the street to the train, and a couple of blocks to cafe's and restaurants. Any time I contacted Jason he replied promptly and always had the right answer and was so helpful. I would recommend the property 100%. Thank you Jason very much for making our 5 day stay in Brooklyn/NYC a great holiday.

We had an amazing time at Jason's place. Very clear and expedient communication was much appreciated

The apartment is just as you see in the advert. Very well stocked, clean and comfortable. We found ourselves looking forward to returning to the apt after our all day sightseeing. The neighborhood is delightful and full of parks, restaurants and grocery stores. The A train is a very short walk from the apartment and could easily be done with young children. Jason has provided crib, stroller, umbrellas, etc.... Very thoughtful host!!! Really a lovely, lovely experience all around!! Thanks Jason.

Amazing host, beautiful apartment with convenient location

Jason was an amazing host. He greeted my wife and I at the apartment when we arrived, was respectful but also conscientious in checking on us to make sure we were enjoying the stay, and was an all around pro. The apartment itself was spotless, with an amazingly comfortable bed, washer and dryer, outdoor patio space, and an all around cool feel (Bed Stuy brownstone - awesome!). The location is great as well, as it is a 2 minute walk to the A/C, which makes it convenient to most of Brooklyn and pretty much all of Manhattan. Would happily stay here again if the opportunity arises. Great job, Jason.

What a great week!

Our family traveled to New York for a week we billed as Christmas and comedy! It was all we hoped it would be, made possible in part because of our wonderful accommodations. The Reading Room Suite is just as billed--clean, spacious and convenient. One block form the A train makes going into Manhattan a breeze, regardless of the time of day. The neighborhood is quiet and welcoming. While we didn't dine in the area for dinner, we do highly recommend both Peaches and Emmaline's for brunch/breakfast. Jason was a wonderful host, gracious with his time and information. We will definitely be staying here again when we next return to NYC!

Loved the house, great location

Communication with Jason was excellent from the start and we were able to get to the house and in to the building with no issues. Jason arrived soon after to make sure everything was okay . The location is excellent. You can be in Manhattan within 20 mins on the subway and it took us about 1 hour to get from the airport to the house using public transport. The property was perfect for us; very large with lots of space and all amenities were available. Jason remained in contact via email to check everything was okay. We would definitely recommend this property for couples or families visiting New York

What a great stay!

The moment we stepped into this apartment, we were impressed. It's beautiful decorated, very spacious and the bed is very comfortable. Both Jason and his mother are very kind people, they even gave us flowers for our 25th Anniversary, which is very appreciated by us. They did all to welcome us in their house. We couldn't be happier with the location, it's very close to the A/C train, that brings you in 30 minutes to Manhattan. After a long day, spending in Manhattan, it's nice to come home in such nice neighborhood and place to stay. We had a great week, and hope to come back sometimes. Thank you, Jason and your mother, for being such nice people. Kind regards from the Netherlands

Emjoyed our time in NY

The Reading Room was very clean. It had everything that we needed. Jason was very accommodating. We called Jason 15 minutes before arriving. As we arrived late, Jason waited on the street for us, then moved his car so we could park. It was after 10pm. We were tired and didn't feel like going out to eat. Jason suggested we order pizza. He then called and ordered pizza for delivery. Jason showed us how to get around NY using the subway. There was a map of the subway on the wall. The whole time we were in NY, Jason was very helpful.

CLEAN, SPACIOUS & GREAT OWNERS

Thank you, thank you, thank you, to Jason and his mother for helping make our stay in Brooklyn a great and memorable one. We were traveling with a group of 5 girls and this apartment was perfect for our "larger" group. The apartment was SUPER CLEAN and decorated nicely and met up to all of our expectations. The apartment was right around the corner from the subway and within walking distance to one of the yummiest restaurants we ate at while in NYC. Peaches is right around the corner and is definitely worth a visit! Jason is friendly, professional and made our stay enjoyable. We had never stayed in Brooklyn before or rented an apartment through Home Away, but Jason was one of the only owners who responded in a professional and timely manner and made us feel confident that this would be a great place to stay. This apartment is a great value and we loved that there was a patio in the back of the apartment that we had access to. I would highly recommend the Reading Room Suite to anyone traveling with a family or larger group. Thanks again Jason for your amazing Hospitality! We can't wait to come back!

Location couldn’t be more convenient to the MTA!

Can’t say enough about the convenience and cleanliness of this property! A short walk to the end of the block and you’re practically on the A train headed to where you want to go! Jason and his neighbor, Sylvia, are SUPER nice, friendly, and helpful. He provides just about anything you would need for a very pleasant experience. Although, I had taken my own toiletries, I was amazed at how well stocked the bathroom was with everything...shower gel, shampoo, conditioner,(including a blow dryer). The kitchen area was also very well stocked. Was there for a long weekend with my teen niece and nephew and not once did I feel uncomfortable or afraid! I’m an early riser, so was not bothered by early morning footsteps and noises from upstairs. If you like to sleep in, you’d probably want to keep in mind that the apartment is on the basement level. I will stay here again if ever back in New York! Thanks Jason for helping us have a great weekend! 😍

Excellent Property!!

I'm not even sure where to begin! Communication with Jason was great from the start. He met with us upon arrival and checked in with us the next day to ensure everything was going well. The apartment itself was absolutely spotless & smelled AMAZING. This coming from someone who once owned a housekeeping service...I'm kind of hard to please in that department...but NO issues here! The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of linens & towels. I was impressed by the throw blankets & pillows in the living room...very nice touch ;) Comfort is important! Safety was never a concern. The block is beautiful and the park between you and the subway is nice and well lit at night. We walked the neighborhood with our 7 year old late and never felt uneasy. Everyone we came across was friendly. We will most certainly return. We are vrbo/ airbnb professionals and appreciate a nice property when we find one!! Thank you so much for the WONDERFUL Brooklyn experience Jason...We will be in contact soon!

Great Rental & Convenient Location

Jason is a fantastic host. He met us at the unit and after showing us around offered many suggestions to help us better get around the area. The rental was very clean, spacious, updated and modern. The unit includes a private outdoor patio space. The bed was very comfortable and the bedroom is bigger than it looks in the picture. The extra sink in the laundry room, adjacent to the bathroom, was helpful when 4 people were trying to get ready and out the door. The apartment was stocked with everything you would need including soap & shampoo, hair dryer, laundry detergent and extra toiletries if you forgot yours. Jason also kept an eye out for us regarding parking. There are certain days you can't park your car on certain sides of the street. He texted us one morning when he saw we were parked on the wrong side of the street. Parking at this location was not an issue at all. The subway stop is 2 blocks from the front door and you get to walk through a park on the way. Google map the location. Google has great images of the property and surrounding area. It is also a very safe area. We never felt uncomfortable walking in the area at night.

Wonderful

As a family of four with two teenage girls we were a little apprehensive about staying on the outskirts of the City in Brooklyn, but how wrong could we have been. We arrived after the long flight and a cab ride (with a wonderful Taxi driver) and were met by Elizabeth, Jason's Mum what a lovely lady. Elizabeth took us through everything we needed to know about the property the area travel etc etc, you name it she had it covered. The property was much larger than we first thought and very well equipped with everything you would want (even a small back yard with patio furniture) the place was great. We travelled into Manhattan every day using our 7 day Metro cards (really good value) sometimes going in and out twice and using them to go up and down Manhattan from the Battery Park at the bottom to Central Park at the top. Jason and his mum Elizabeth are lovely people and you feel instantly at home, Brooklyn's immediate area was really surprising with a Park at the end of the road (where the subway started) a few restaurants, Peachy's was great the first night and Daddy Greens Pizza shop was amazing food and really friendly people. Would definitely recommend Jason's apartment and the area for your Manhattan trip. Wonderful experience. Nice people, good value and easy travelling, great place. Get off at High Street on the subway and walk the Brooklyn Bridge for great New York Sky Line images. All in all great place and people will definitely come back.

This limestone home has been carefully taken care of since it was built in 1910. The neighborhood of Stuyvesant Heights is home to many families including my own. We enjoy the neighborhood feel, the magnificent New York architecture, the independent coffee shops and trendy restaurants. The A Train is less than 100 ft. from the apartment and your trip into the city will take approximately 25 minutes. Clearly, Brooklyn itself is a destination and you will be right in the center if you choose to stay at the Reading Room Suite.
