Nena's - Oceanfront

**New Listing**
At Nena's, grandma's cottage is the old Nags Head feel quaint little cottage. Kept in the original 1960s Vintage style with a fresh, updated look and feel. Spectacular oceanfront views in a comfortable screened in covered porch. Direct beach access. South deck view provides excellent sunrises and sunsets with the ocean breeze behind you. Enjoy a nice home cooked meal at Nena's or take a quick stroll to several local restaurants in the immediate area. New walkway extension provides easy access to the beach off the porch.

Can't beat the ocean views

Perfect for 2 dogs and a couple. We enjoyed being able to vacation right on the ocean with our pups. Close to surfing and good restaurants as well.

We wanted an old school cottage on the beach and this was the perfect spot for my husband, myself and our dog! Great location--there's a coffee shop within walking distance and lots of great restaurants just a bike ride (or drive/walk) away. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook. Couches were comfy and having windows open at night to hear the ocean was awesome! There is easy access to walk across the dunes and onto the beach too. We'll be back for sure!

Perfect week at the beach!

Our family of 4 loved staying at Nena’s oceanfront! The beach is just steps away from the house and the house was clean and comfortable for our family! The views (especially sunrises) were stunning! We loved relaxing on the beach, swimming in the ocean, and doing a little surf fishing! It was the perfect week!

Great location

The property is the ideal beach vacation property. The screened in porch is amazing and the beach is just steps away!! The property comfortably fit our 3 dogs. The owner was very responsive. We definitely plan to come back again!!

The Right Fit for Our Trip

The oceanfront location was exactly what we wanted for this trip to the beach. The size of the house fit our needs, and the screened-in porch was wonderful for relaxing with a book while watching and listening to the waves, enjoying a meal, or checking out the beach for a walk. The location also was convenient for visiting area attractions and checking out restaurants.This was our first time using Vrbo, and the owner was friendly and quick to respond to our questions. We were fortunate to have our son with us to help spot traffic to get out of the parking space.

Gem of the Outer Banks

Nena’s was the perfect getaway for our young family! We loved the charm and character of the home and it was very clean when we arrived. The screened in porch is what makes this house so special and we spent a lot of our time out there. The beach was only steps away and not crowded at all. Nena’s is a hidden gem! We can’t wait to come back!

Rejuvenating get away

My husband and I found this rental to be the perfect spot for us to get away from it all. The ocean front location could not be better and we enjoyed the sunrise every morning. The house is just the right size for a small family or a couple. It was clean and the porch was perfect for us to enjoy when the sun got too hot. We hope to be back!

This was the most relaxing vacation i have taken. I will definitely be back. Listening to the waves while going to sleep was amazing. Found some awesome seashells. Mark was great.

Kitty Hawk Beach Week 5/2024

We had a really nice time on our trip. The beginning of the week was rainy and we were so glad to have the covered porch so we could still be outside. The sunrises are absolutely stunning! In addition, we saw SO much wild life on land and in the water. I have never seen so many dolphins, porpoises, and even a whale tail splash one time!! If you are looking for a great location, close beach access and a home that isn't fancy, but will meet your needs then this is the place!

Amazing location for those who can bring everything with them.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. This is a good place to pick if you are willing to bring almost every amenity/necessity with you (all sheets, towels-kitchen, hand, bath, beach, tp, paper towel, hand soap, shampoo, bath mat). It is amazingly close to the ocean and has a great view. Though we didn’t realize we’d have to climb over a dune to get to the beach. This could be problematic for older and very young guests. Mattresses really need to be replaced. Good place to pick for people who are able to pack A LOT and are willing to give up amenities for great location.

Excellent!

First off communication was superb! We had the few questions we asked quickly. We had 1 issue that was fixed that same day. The place itself was perfect. It’s right there on the beach. We brought our 2 dogs and they loved it. And it gave us peace of mind because we didn’t have to deal with crossing streets etc. Just down some stairs up the dune and we were there. The dune was much easier for the dogs than us but it wasn’t too bad. Did I mention the porch? I probably should because I spent every morning there enjoying the sunrise and eating breakfast. It gives you a spectacular view of the beach and ocean. There’s a side deck as well that we enjoyed. A small thing i appreciated was actually having a gas grill outside. I am a horrible cook with charcoal so it was nice to have that as an option The washer and dryer was great! You are at a beach so you’ll need to do some general sweeping etc but that was to be expected. I would also recommend backing into the driveway. It wakes it much much easier when trying to get out on the main road. If I had a slight criticism it would be the bed in the room closest to the beach. It may have had its best years already but it wasn’t a deal breaker. We absolutely would love to go back !

I live in NH, but spend most of my time in the OBX. I grew up staying at my grandparents cottage (Nena and Grandad's) as a child. This cottage reminded me of my grandma's cottage so I named it after her.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

I've been coming to the OBX since the late 70s. We spent most of our time in Kitty Hawk. One of my favorite towns to visit as well as Duck.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Screened in porch with fantastic oceanfront views. One of the few old traditional 1960s nags head feel. Not gutted like many of the other cottages.
