Windswept Cottage - Close to skiing, wedding venues, & hiking!
Windswept Cottage is a country cape, 3 bedrooms, 2 bath house on quiet street in Roxbury, NY. Enjoy the outdoors, yard, sun drenched deck, frog & koi pond. Hike out the back door to John Burrowsâ childhood home and picnic rock. It is a two-family home with owner/caretaker on premises, totally private area with separate entrances. Guests have off street parking, 40 feet from the house.
We traveled to Roxbury from TX for my younger sonâs wedding. The windswept cottage was comfortable and convenient for a reasonable price. The yard, deck, and pond are all pretty. We enjoyed our time in Roxbury. (the wedding at Roxbury Barn was wonderful!)
My family and I stayed here for the weekend while attending a wedding at The Inn at West Settlement. We were a 5-10 minute drive to town and very close to the wedding venue in the beautiful Catskills. The home was clean with a cottage vibe and plenty of room.
Our hosts were pleasant and responsive to our questions. We felt welcome during our stay and refreshed for our party with a good night sleep on some very comfortable beds.
The Wi-Fi was fast and Air Conditioning kept us comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay here while visiting the area especially if attending a wedding at The Inn at West Settlement.
Our stay at Windswept Cottage was great! The Windswept Cottage was comfortable for our group of 5. The bathrooms and bedrooms were spacious, and the kitchen was well stocked. During our stay, there was a city-wide power outage that lasted for most of the day. Our host kept us up-to-date on when the power would be restored and provided lanterns and options to make our stay more comfortable such as recommending dinner at the neighboring town which had gas and power. Fortunately the electricity was restored before nightfall so we still enjoyed our evening. We appreciated the hosts' concern and helpfulness. Thank you for a great weekend!
Overall we were not happy staying at this property. It was a step above camping. The house was very dark with very dim lights. There was not a comfortable place to sit down and eat. The living area was cramped and uncomfortable. When I showered upstairs there were spiders in the bathroom. Way to rustic for us and you could tell it was renovated by a diy'er. Mary and John
This place had a nice cottage feel, very warm and welcoming. I would definitely go back again. The owners were very kind and responsive. Highly recommend!
